On Thursday, Joe Biden released a proclamation for the Transgender Day of Visibility. The “holiday” is an annual mark that takes place on March 31st. Biden’s statement “celebrates the joy, strength, and absolute courage of some of the bravest people” just days after six people were murdered by a transgender school shooter in Nashville, Tennessee. Transgender Day of Visibility was first created in 2009. On Monday, Audrey Hale killed six people, including three children at the Christian Covenant School in Nashville. Hale was a 28-year old transgender who dealt with mental health and gender issues.
