The National Archives warned President Joe Biden's lawyers last month that hundreds of emails related to Hunter Biden and his Burisma business deal were set to be publicly released.  Insider broke the story and said that the White House has yet to say whether Biden would stop the release of 185 email messages, and 75 partials emails by claiming executive privilege. If not, the emails will be released on February 28.   A representative for the Archives reached out to White House Counsel Stuart Delery, Biden's campaign lawyer Robert Lenhard and top officials at the Obama Foundation on November 30 to inform them records related to Biden's vice presidency would be released under

Biden needs to pardon himself and all the members of his family while he still can. Probably not constitutional, but he can get away with it. He may as well use his "executive powers" to abolish elections, too, while he is at it. The news media would cheer.

Why would the National Archives feel the need to issue such a warning at all? I such data is released as a process of established law and processes, why should that concern the NA one way or the other? Unkess, of course, they have picked a side?

#2, of course they have picked a side - the employees at the Archives are no different than the employees at any other government agency - they’re all leftists. The fact that these emails are stored in the NA because they are related to Biden’s time as VP tells us all we need to know about exactly who the Big Guy is and what he and Hunter were up to together. They are a smoking gun, so look for the left to bury them completely.

Although the Freedom of Information Act does not require it, agencies for a couple of decades now engage in consultation with the White House when any records have White House equities (names of WH staffers, information, etc) and are responsive to a FOIA request. So I am sure the WHI Counsel will claim executive privilege to withhold the records. The WH itself is not subject to the FOIA.

This is no different than a local police dept giving the heads up to a drug ring that the FBI is going to raid their organization. But of course the National Archives is protecting the Bidens and they are Democrats so everything is just fine. My head wants to explode!!

Come on, folks: you know why they're doing this! If Joey just up and issued an executive order restricting the Nat'l Archives from releasing info and docs re Hunter, many moderate folks (not just conservatives) would be up in arms; many reporters/anchors would be asking their "experts": "Is this legal? Does the POTUS have authority to restrict access to his son's data examined by the FBI? Shouldn't he have that authority?" Instead, Ron Klain called his buds at the Archives, and gave them a little press release to issue. This will accomplish the following: (a) slightly prolong the time before anything can be issued; (b) gives the press time to think about how they can defend Joey; (c) glosses over the whole issue with a patina of "legality," making it appear that this is a legal issue that requires someone to file a complaint, try to get it before a friendly, leftist judge like Emmet Sullivan (who did the dirty work of holding up Michael Flynn's case even after the DOJ filed a notice of dismissal!); and (d) drag this matter out for at least a few months, perhaps a year, with hearings and motions and discovery requests, maybe until Joey has to step down because he will become even more demented than he is now. This action would give hope to the Prog's that the public will grow weary of the issue and the prog's can say, "This is old news. We all know what this is about--it's just about sex. Many presidents have had wayward relatives, and they weren't tortured like poor old Joey. This is just a big nothingburger! Can't we just 'move on'? The American people want us to leave politics behind and do the work of the people: reducing inflation, fixing the economy, and addressing the problems at the border."

Trump roasts Electoral Count Act

Former President Donald Trump is, from the sounds of it, frustrated by the inclusion of the Electoral Count Act in the $1.7 trillion omnibus that’s currently being discussed. As previously reported, the Electoral Count Act would make it significantly harder for both Congress and the vice president to reject the results of an election. On Tuesday the former president posted a stream of thoughts — all of them mostly negative — to Truth Social about the bill. He started by complaining about how the bill would set in stone that the vice president may not unilaterally choose to certify or not certify the results of an election.

Congress is trying to cram through a mammoth $1.7 trillion government funding bill ahead of a nor'easter that could otherwise leave lawmakers snowed-in in Washington, D.C. over Christmas.  The 4,500 page bill is full of classic priorities: $858 billion for defense, $45 billion for Ukraine, $38 billion for emergency disasters and billions more for other social programs - but also includes some odd riders.  It's loaded with thousands of earmarks - funding for the pet projects of individual lawmakers sometimes in exchange for their vote. Earmarks were banned until Democrats brought them back last year. Republicans followed suit in their own conference.

The House Select Committee on January 6 is ending. It’ll be gone by the next Congress—and good riddance. The committee was probably slated to be the Democrats’ 2022 attack vehicle funded by the taxpayer to paint Trump and the Republican Party as too extreme for America. It failed because a) no one cared anymore about that little riot, b) Americans knew hyperbole when they saw it, and c) the economy was collapsing. Most Americans don’t care or have the time to worry about the trivial matters that consume rich white liberals with dread. With the economy in recession, the Left tried everything to put this committee’s work front and center,

We often despair that neither party represents the interests of fiscal discipline these days, or even competent and accountable governance. It’s clearly too much to ask that we get to a balanced budget, since we haven’t even seen one attempted in nearly 30 years — and even that used budgetary gimmicks. Without a constitutional amendment, Congress will never budget properly within the limits of national revenue, and without an Article V convention, we won’t get an amendment that requires it. As for competent and accountable governance, that will likely require an Article V convention as well.

The new academic report stemmed from research conducted by the University of Pittsburgh that was directly commissioned by the Marine Corps. The report claims the Marine Corps is behind other branches of the military when it comes to using gender identifiers. The report also states the Army, Navy, and Coast Guard have, for the most part, gotten rid of gender identifiers such as “Sir” and “Ma’am” but instead address drill instructors by their rank and last name.

The tax code allows the committee to look at people’s tax returns to provide “oversight” of the Internal Revenue Service, and by writing an official report on their findings,
