A Smith & Wesson revolver that once belonged to former President Theordore Roosevelt sold for $910,625 at the Rock Island Auction Company's December Premier Auction. Then-Col. Roosevelt received the weapon on May 12, 1898, a day that coincides with his departure for San Antonio to train with the Rough Riders for eventual combat against Spanish forces in Cuba. "Firearms with presidential ties are highly sought after and extremely difficult to find," Kevin Hogan, Rock Island Auction Company president, said at the time of the sale. "Being tied to such an important office frequently places these arms at historic moments in American history. We've had the responsibility of offering three presidential arms in 2022,

That is a different history/story about the same...or very similar revolver. In American Handgunner a couple of years ago the story, along with photos/provenance was that he traded it for cash to spend time with his wife on his final leave just prior to deployment. The gun is in "As new" condition, no a scratch or even a sweat stain, seldom if ever fired, not even a hint of rust scale from sitting in a holster or a drawer.

Doc Holliday carried a nickel plated Colt “self-cocker” (double action). I guess it’s lost to time but it would certainly bring a staggering price with the right provenance. The same with the shotgun he used during the gunfight. Virgil Earp had taken it off the rack at the Wells Fargo office and returned it afterwards. Worth a fortune now if found and verified. Wyatt was also rumored in later years when he was short of funds to send Josie out to buy a cheap pistol that he would sell as the one he used at the OK Corral.

Gordon Chang, a senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute and author of “The Great U.S. China Tech War,” said during an interview this week that communist China is using TikTok to promote social disruption in the U.S. in an attempt to weaken America’s system of government. Chang initially responded to comments from Fox News host Jason Chaffetz about China’s claims that it has legitimate concerns that it wants the U.S. to take seriously. “Well, first of all, China doesn’t have legitimate concerns. It’s not a legitimate state,” Chang said. “And we should stop treating it as such, because as you say, it is committing genocide, crimes against humanity,

Vice President Kamala Harris gave dozens of migrants the cold shoulder after two busloads were dumped outside her DC residence on Christmas Eve - one of the coldest nights on record. The group stood outside in the freezing 18 degree temperatures with some only wearing T-shirts, CNN reported. Some were given blankets and were placed on another bus headed to a local church.  It remains unclear who is responsible for sending the Christmas Eve migrants to the Naval Observatory on Saturday night in dangerously cold temperatures, but Texas Governor Greg Abbott admitted he had sent buses of migrants north, including to a location outside Harris' home, back in September.

Joe Biden declined to take phone calls from children about Santa's whereabouts on Christmas Eve - something the president has traditionally done in recent years. Instead, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden could be seen picking up the phone while sitting in front of a Christmas tree on Christmas Eve.  'It's almost time to set out the cookies and get the reindeers' carrots ready — NORAD Command just said Santa is on his way to your neighborhood!' she tweeted on Saturday evening.  There was no explanation from the White House as to why the 71-year-old first lady was the one making the calls rather than her 80-year-old husband,

San Francisco's taxpayer-funded open air Christmas market, hoped to be a wholesome holiday outing for families, is in fact a dystopian hellhole besieged by the city's famed drug addicts. At least that's what concerned residents living near the market have revealed to DailyMail.com, with one property owner filming and posting to social media what she's described to be a 'horrible decline' in the area. Her clip shows a homeless person under a blanket just a few yards away from the Winter Wanderland market in the sunken Hallidie Plaza, near City Hall. The camera then pans down to the market itself,

Three busloads of shivering migrants were dumped in front of Vice President Kamala Harris’ Washington D.C. residence on a frigid Christmas Eve, according to multiple reports. The buses, believed to be from Texas, dropped the asylum seekers off in 18-degree weather in front of the Naval Observatory, where Harris lives, late Saturday, according to 7News and CNN. The outlets said the migrants were seen wearing only T-shirts or light sweatshirts in the freezing temperatures. They were given blankets and put on another bus bound for a local church.
Celebrating Christmas, the Birth of Jesus

Christians worldwide celebrate Christmas today, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who was born approximately 4 B.C. in the town of Bethlehem, five miles east of Jerusalem, in the nation of Israel. Four gospel accounts in the Bible provide many of the details surrounding the birth of Jesus, including stories of extraordinary and supernatural events coupled with more broadly known historical details. One is the visit of the magi – or “wise men” – in the months following Jesus’ birth. Tradition says they were three in number, but in reality, the Bible does not specify their names or number, nor which country east of Israel they came from.

Most believe Americans have forgotten the “real meaning” of Christmas, a recent Ipsos poll released ahead of the holiday found. Three-quarters at least somewhat agree that Americans have forgotten the “real meaning” of Christmas, and of those, 42 percent “strongly” agree.  Even more Christians, 84 percent, agree that Americans have lost the true meaning of Christmas, and most Republicans and Democrats, 88 percent and 66 percent, respectively, agree as well.  Further, even non-religious Americans agree that Americans have forgotten the real meaning of Christmas. Notably, the survey did not ask respondents to identify what they consider the “true meaning” of Christmas to be.
