Gov. Brian Kemp of Georgia and Stacey Abrams, the Democrat he narrowly beat in 2018 who is challenging him again in 2022, have spent the last four years preparing for a rematch. Monday night’s debate in Atlanta, the lone time during this year’s campaign for Georgia governor that the candidates were scheduled to appear onstage together, was a demonstration of the political animus the two have had toward each other. Both Mr. Kemp and Ms. Abrams came versed in the other’s record — Ms. Abrams on Mr. Kemp’s tenure as governor (and, before that,

Comments:

If Stacy is elected Governor of Georgia she will change 911 to an unlisted no. Please no run offs. I hate the commercials trashing the other side.

Kemp has been leading the race the entire time. There's no reason to expect voters to flock to Miss Stacey at the 11th hour. She can go back to writing her X-rated novels.

When NYT reports on debates, they always seem to inflate their candidate's rating by a couple of letter grades, so an even debate gets reported as a big Democrat win. I'm inferring that Kemp dominated the debate, since NYT used the same compliment for both. (Both were prepared.)

Frankly, I don't understand the novelty behind Abrams. She was a Georgia legislature back-bencher, with no remarkable achievements and zero executive experience. She ran for governor in 2018 and lost, yet she never conceded. Consequently she has come across as a sore loser with an entitlement mentality to the governor's mansion. Abrams offers no substantiative policy proposals other than dem talking points and platitudes. So, it's not what she's done (or didn't do), but rather the "intersectional" boxes she checks off to please the chattering class.

Democrats are not forgiving with candidates who cannot win elections. Her star will fade quickly after this election. She will have to turn to embezzling funds from her various PACs and campaign coffers like the rest of them.

Being stupid and ignorant of the issues is not Stacey's problem, thus a reasonable debate performance. However, being delusional, racist, full of self pity, soft on crime and having very poor judgement all make her a lousy candidate.

Atlanta is as corrupt as the day is long. If the election is going to be stolen, it will be stolen there. I hope we have safeguards in place to make sure that it is a free and fair election and that every legitimate, legal vote is counted. No ballot harvesting, no ballot stuffing.

#1 everything will depend how much cheating will be going on. Georgia doesn't want her or Warnock. That is why I don't like early voting. The demRats can project based on the number of early voters, how many fraudulent ballots they need to offset them.

Lived in East Cobb for seven years. It’s the corrupt party leaders running the voter rolls, ID checking or not, and outcome… Spent all day driving inland to our county seat and poll worker training to be a poll manager here in SC yesterday. BUT any registered voter can watch counting and be an “observer” at their local poll. Stay until the ballot tallies are signed, sealed in the orange bag, delivered by the Clerk! Know your county chairman, be alert, wear comfy shoes, bring healthy snacks for all day, 6am ‘til orange bag gone! It’s for our children and grandblessings!

ATLANTA, Ga.  - Cancer patients say their lives are locked in limbo after Aetna, a major healthcare insurance company, is accused of wrongfully denying coverage claims for “life changing” treatment. “You can’t even imagine how you’re going to handle something like that,” Claire Thevenot shook her head. “It’s just devastating.”Thevenot considers herself a fighter. Fulton County’s district attorney will pick a special grand jury Monday to investigate allegations former President Donald Trump criminally interfered with Georgia’s elections in 2020. The grand jury is an unusual kind of one because it doesn’t indict, it just investigates. It will be investigating the now-infamous phone call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. “So look, all I want to do is just, I want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won the state,” Trump said during that call to Raffensperger.

One of my clients -- I’m actually doing an American Rescue Plan project in a municipality. Prior to the ‘racial uprisings,’ they would get roughly about a hundred applications,” said Democratic candidate Michelle Long Spears on April 19 at a forum.
