Trump "Orange Face"

Original Article

A veteran media analyst at a major local news outlet has been let go after making comments about former President Donald Trump that were deemed inappropriate. Bill Crane, who was described as a "long-time WSB-TV and radio chief political analyst and commentator" by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, was terminated on Monday from the news station. WSB-TV said that Crane's reference to Trump as "Orange Face" violated the station's commitment to "unbiased" coverage. Crane first joined the station in 2006.

Before Trump, the last president who was picked on for his looks was Nixon. He was an easy target, as his physical features and mannerisms were easily exaggerated by cartoonists and comedians. But even so, the jokes were not mean spirited. It’s different with Orange Man references. First off, they’re not joking. It’s a term of derision and contempt.

Bill Crane is sorry if anyone was offended. LOL Usually when someone gets canned like this, there's trouble under the surface that's not public.

I just recently saw the video of Glenn Beck and his two sidekicks sticking their faces in a plate of Cheeto crumbs to make fun of PDJT early on. It was evidently out there and I just hadn't seen it. Disgusting.

Re 7 and #8 are correct. WSB leans left but Crane was not very good. At least for the last few years. Not only was his analysis poor but he seemed unsteady on the air. Personal problems? More here than just the nasty jab at Trump.

Gov. Brian Kemp of Georgia and Stacey Abrams, the Democrat he narrowly beat in 2018 who is challenging him again in 2022, have spent the last four years preparing for a rematch. Monday night’s debate in Atlanta, the lone time during this year’s campaign for Georgia governor that the candidates were scheduled to appear onstage together, was a demonstration of the political animus the two have had toward each other. Both Mr. Kemp and Ms. Abrams came versed in the other’s record — Ms. Abrams on Mr. Kemp’s tenure as governor (and, before that,

ATLANTA, Ga.  - Cancer patients say their lives are locked in limbo after Aetna, a major healthcare insurance company, is accused of wrongfully denying coverage claims for “life changing” treatment. “You can’t even imagine how you’re going to handle something like that,” Claire Thevenot shook her head. “It’s just devastating.”Thevenot considers herself a fighter. As a nurse and patient care advocate, most days feel as if she’s going to war for others. But today, she’s fighting for herself. “My first thought was I’m dying,” she recalled. Stage IV breast cancer, already a medical battle, became a financial one too.

Fulton County’s district attorney will pick a special grand jury Monday to investigate allegations former President Donald Trump criminally interfered with Georgia’s elections in 2020. The grand jury is an unusual kind of one because it doesn’t indict, it just investigates. It will be investigating the now-infamous phone call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. “So look, all I want to do is just, I want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won the state,” Trump said during that call to Raffensperger.

DECATUR, Ga. (CBS46) - A DeKalb County commission candidate is being criticized for using what some are calling a racially-insensitive phrase. It’s costing her a major endorsement just weeks before the primary. “It’s hard right now to even find law enforcement. One of my clients -- I’m actually doing an American Rescue Plan project in a municipality. Prior to the ‘racial uprisings,’ they would get roughly about a hundred applications,” said Democratic candidate Michelle Long Spears on April 19 at a forum.

LONDON (Reuters) - The Kremlin dismissed a remark by U.S. President Joe Biden on Saturday that Vladimir Putin "cannot remain in power," saying it was up to Russians to choose their own president. Asked about Biden's comment, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Reuters: "That's not for Biden to decide. The president of Russia is elected by Russians." A White House official said Biden, who was speaking in Warsaw, had not been calling for "regime change" in Russia but his point was that "Putin cannot be allowed to exercise power over his neighbors or the region".

At this point, it would save everyone time if Democrats could simply point to a policy agenda item that isn’t going to save democracy — if such a thing exists. If Republicans vote, they are killing democracy. If they don’t vote, they are killing democracy. The only way to “save democracy,” writes The Washington Post’s Max Boot, is to empower one-party rule — a position that probably sounds counterintuitive to anyone with a middle-school education. “Now you need to vote to literally save democracy again,” contends President Joe Biden, or we will lose our “fundamental rights and freedoms like the right to choose, the right to privacy, the right to vote

Two weeks before the most important off-year elections in the history of the nation isn’t a good time for Democrats to realize that the narrative that they’ve been relentlessly pushing has been a complete failure, but that’s the reality for a party that bet everything on portraying the January 6, 2021 chaos at the Capitol as a serious effort to overthrow “democracy” and is only now beginning to realize that voters could care less. The unwelcome intrusion of reality into the bubble inhabited by the coastal cultural and political elite isn’t sitting well with many, including MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough who was flummoxed by the responses of a focus group
