Lucianne Goldberg, R.I.P.

Original Article

Posted By: PageTurner, 10/27/2022 6:40:03 AM

Going to Lucianne.com this morning, as I do every morning, I was shocked and saddened to read that its proprietor, Lucianne Goldberg, has passed away: Dear L Dotters. We are heartbroken. Our beloved Lucianne passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones in her own home, the way she wanted. But she has left a whole in our lives that we can never fill completely. Lucianne was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a patriot who expressed her love of this country with both political fierceness and penetrating wit.

Comments:

This is such sad news. Condolences and prayers to all of her family.

I respected Lucianne. I loved it years ago when she would make her way on TV news shows and express her opinion bluntly and direct with a smile. When she started this website years ago, I was thrilled and it was a way to keep myself informed and entertained. RIP Lucianne.

I have been a loyal reader of lucianne.com at least 20 years. This is the first place I read and I have recommended this website to everyone I know. I will, and others will always remember her and how she kept this website with excellent articles and strict responses for so long. We will miss her and I’m glad the crew will keep on. This is the best site on the web in my humble opinion. God Bless Lucianne and family.

how very sad - for us. Lucianne is rejoicing. Been here for many many years - some more active than others. She will be truly missed - she was an anchor thru much turmoil. We all knew we could come here and be with our online family. We still will - but Sister Mom is no longer here. I pray for comfort for her family.

This makes me very sad. Lucianne has been here for us...giving us a voice for over 2 decades. I always appreciated that this was a "salon" and not a "saloon". So many memories were made here. My condolences to her friends, family and to her dedicated staff. Prayers for peace and comfort. Rest in Peace dear Lucianne.

We have lost another one of our champions. I have been with L.com for over 20+ years. Not one day went by without me stopping in this oasis with my morning coffee, to stay informed and commune with fellow patriots. It is how I made it through, from the Klintoon years until now. I always appreciated how she kept this site an intelligent salon, not a vulgar saloon filled with vitriolic sewage like so many other sites. My heart is broken today. RIP, Ms Lucianne. Well done. Please say "Hi, " to Rush.

Just like Queen Elizabeth, I guess we thought she'd go on forever. She will be missed. She always answered my emails and I'l always love her for that because she remembered who had been around since the first days. I carry the memory of even being banned on Lucianne back in the early days, but she forgave my transgression and invited me back in. Rest in peace, my friend. A lot of good memories remain and I treasure them.

Heartbroken prayers for Jonah and all who loved Ms. Lucianne. I got to know her and this place and other people of the same mindset during the Bill and Monica years. My mother known here as Deedles recommended I join. When Mom had her stroke in 2004, Lucianne was kind enough to send me an email to read to her before she passed. It is printed out and in my mom’s memory box. Now I am quickly approaching the same age as Mom was when she passed, but have not gone a day without coming here first. She has brought so many of us together with this wonderful salon, and I know that more than a few who have gone before us are happily welcoming her to heaven, where there may or may not be whore squirrels. We will find out when we get there. We love you, Lucianne. You were simply the best.

My heart lurched in my chest when I read the top of the home page today. I’ve been on this site since the beginning and it has always been the way I start my day. I was honored to meet Lucianne at a Clinton impeachment rally in DC in 1998 and have her autograph on a tee shirt from that rally. She and I occasionally emailed each other about our passion for needlework and I have saved every one of those emails. She was our matriarch and we loved her, although most of us never got to meet her. The one silver lining in her leaving us is that she is no longer living in the disaster of the city of New York. Thank you for everything, dear lady. God bless you!

Oh my, this is almost like the day we lost Rush. I started posting here years ago under a different moniker. I took a break when a certain poseur became a squatter in the WH because I couldn't take people talking about him, seeing his face, or hearing his voice. Yes, I had some issues to work out. It helped when the eight years of never should have been were finally over. I missed this place and had to come back. I'm grateful to Miss Lucianne and her fabulous team for letting us be. The moderators are fair and not at all overbearing, making this place feel like home. Many of you have freely expressed your lack of care for her son in strong words here, but you were able to do so. This page serves as an example for the twits of the world on how to allow free speech to exist in its purest form. Farewell Miss Lucianne, and thank you team for keeping her dream alive. Don't go changing, and we won't go anywhere else. Hearts, hugs, and tears. . .

It was, and still is, the first thing I do in the morning with my cup of coffee in hand. I can't wait to see the news of the Day on Lucianne. I am thankful that Lucianne put down some strong Rules here and enforced them. It's been a place to Read, Learn and to express my feelings without the worry that someone is going to attack me for my opinion. I love reading everyone's posts. I am happy Ms. Lucianne was able to leave this world in her own way, in her own home and with her Family at her side. She will truly be missed!

We are still part of the gold standard of political websites, I'm so proud to be a part of it. Rush would scan Ldot just before his show would start. I've been coming here first thing in the morning for years. Remember the 2000 election? There was a special thread that was open for comments throughout the evening. First they called it for Bush, everyone "cheered," then Gore rescinded his concession and all heck broke loose. Who knew that that would be the first of many "election denials" from the Democrats. I know Rush visited here frequently, I'm positive he posted occasionally too. There are several Conservative talk shows I listen too that obviously get their material from Lucianne. Many times I am online reading and as they're talking, and I can follow along with each story. Lucianne Goldberg was a sharp woman. Her advice to Linda Tripp to tape Monica's phone calls about her affair with Bill probably saved Monica's life. Setting up this site was brilliant. Thank you Lucianne, but, before you settle in, please go find Rush and use your combined heavenly influence to make sure things are on the up and up on November 8th and we save our country from the bad guys.

Like all of you, I am heartbroken. Lucianne has been my home page for over twenty years, emphasis on "home". I came across my Lucianne.com tee shirt just a few weeks ago, it fits a little snugly these days but I would never get rid of it. The front, under Lucianne.com says "Simply Irresistible!" (so true), the back says "Not just a website but a way of life!" (also true). And I have a lovely handwritten note from her, she truly loved and cared about her Ldotters. What she created here is very special, one-of-a-kind. I have learned, laughed, cried with all of you and I'm so thankful for every minute. Rest in Peace dear Lucianne.

Rest in peace, Dear Lady, and may you soar with the Angels. Mega, mega dittos on all the comments. So true, each one of them. I have been with her DAILY for 20+ years, she has owned a big part of my life. I too remember when SHE would answer an email. It made me feel special. My sincerest sympathy to her family and friends, and especially to her staff. You have done a yeoman's job keeping this safe place together where we can gather in like mind. May God bless all of you and thank you, Miss Lucianne, for caring.

I make a record of every website I sign up for. I chalk it up as me being a logistician while I was in the Navy and now in my current job as a DoD Contractor. I joined this website back in March of 2012. I found a great place to share in ideas plus ways to find good reading content. I also got to know what an awesome person Lucianne Goldberg was, and it made me sad when I read the caption this morning. May she rest in peace and sincere condolences to her family.

I have been a loyal L-Dotter since the days of Monica Lewinsky. I found Lucianne from a link on Drudge. Signed up as SocietyDweller originally. Had a couple different handles over the years and got booted off for saying something inappropriate. Its a salon not a saloon, but Lucian’s was a forgiving person and let me back after making amends. I’ve enjoyed the fabulous recipe threads and all of the hilarious comments people post up. I even have an autographed photo she sent to me hanging in my office. She is dearly loved and will be truly missed. God bless you dear lady and Rest In Peace with God in Heaven. Amen and amen…

In mid-1999 when Tony Snow was guest hosting for Rush Limbaugh, he mentioned Lucianne Goldberg and her news forum web site. That day I found my home online, and have been here ever since, minus a few months off for disciplinary reasons here and there. Our hostess's wisdom and good humor was always evident. After the tragedies of 9/11, our own Lucianne had the most memorable and enduring things to say, reflecting how we all felt. God bless Mrs. G and her family. After 23 years, our mentor is more than in our minds--she's in our DNA.

Truly a great lady. She will be missed. But we are all richer by having had her in our lives. And this salon is a perfect legacy for her. Like many of you I have been coming and posting here almost from the beginning and have come to view it like a family gathering. The camaraderie is palpable. There's a sense of shared purpose that goes beyond common political views. It's genuinely uplifting. Spiritual even. Thanksgiving is coming soon. And we have so much to be thankful for, including what Lucianne has meant to us, and what the long line of so many others that she has previously assembled here have meant to us. Standing Wolf. Aussiegirl. And so many more. Let us give thanks for the blessings she has brought us.

Very sad news. Been with the Lucianne crew since she launched her site. Was living and working in Manhattan (27th and 2nd Ave) when I first became aware of Lucianne.com and was overjoyed several years later after we moved to KY when she personally replied to an open invitation to the KY Derby. We never did manage to connect but it would've been a great afternoon for us all (and she knew the open invitation was good for whichever Derby she chose to attend.) The visionariess who was the early days of the internet as a place for the displaced voices of a conservative nature to come together and share and develop opinions, lock arms in intellectual and spiritual solidarity, and collectively push back against all who would try to misdirect the great foundations of the American Exceptionalism. Had my hand slapped a few times by our gracious hostess. Buckley gave us a voice against the radicals of the 60s and ultimately Reagan, Rush gave us a voice against the radicals of the nineties and ultimately Trump. Monica lives, and Hillary lives outside the White House, because of Mrs. Goldberg. Brava

I first heard about Lucianne from Tony Snow subbing for Rush after 9/11. Back then posting privileges were closed due to limited bandwidth. It took years, but I became well-versed in the Lucianne culture with the Ldot pioneers such as Aggie57, Lambie Pie and CapMarine68. I also remember the discipline of the 300 word limit; writing my essays on Word before posting. Most of all, I celebrate the forum our hostess, Miss Lucianne, provided for us to communicate with each other, refining our conservative thoughts and beliefs. I have three hand written and signed thank you cards from Miss Lucianne. Those are my hard-copy treasures of this unique on-line community. May God grant unto her the Eternal Rest; and may the Perpetual Light shine upon her. Amen.

Such sad news. What a great lady, and what a vision for a place to congregate online, to converse around news articles that tell the important news, the real news. I’ll never forget 9/11. I was up, saw my husband and babies off to see his mom, went down to the computer to check the headlines on Lucianne, and read the words ‘go turn on your tv, things are happening too fast to keep up with here’, or something to that effect. So I did…. I’ve binged on Lucianne since the start. It’s home. My deepest sympathy for Jonah and his family, and for the Lucianne staff. May you hear her voice always. May Light perpetual shine upon you. Dear Goldberg family: I just lost my Mama earlier this year so I know what you are going through. She will be in everyones thoughts every day and for so many good and wonderful memories! Thank you, Lucianne: you were a good and kind and brave host. Ive been here since word floated around Free Republic that something new was on the horizon, and know full well what she meant when she said it would be a Salon, not a saloon. I wish friends that I had known then were around so we could raise a toast and say a prayer. Heck I'll do it anyway, but she brought everyone who loved America and loved its history and Constitution and its people together in a way no one ever thought could happen. God rest you, dear lady. Thanks to Lucianne for providing this most informative and engaging website all of these many past years. Ldotters know how innovative and valuable her concept for consistantly delivering up to the minute news from published articles throughout the world has been to us. She certainly found the way for her www to provide the information needed to be dispersed across the fruited plane in order for America to maintain its informed citizenry, ...especially since the msm seems to has lost the meaning of factual journalism. Lucianne remains an American national treasure forthis news site which has cleverly managed to supply, "news," to everyone by circumventing the msm. Well done!

I've done much reflection about Lucianne today and about the conversations we shared over the years. I Loved her motto that this was a salon, not a saloon, and I hope that continues. Thank you Lucianne.

Washington Post demonstrates how crummy

At newspapers, obituaries are typically written in advance. The Washington Post had plenty to work with when the death of Lucianne Goldberg happened, but instead of remembering good, or at least balancing their summary, they selectively chose to remember the great muse of the right, Internet pioneer, and accomplished woman from a time when women weren't allowed much accomplishment, by printing only cherry-picked tales of dubious sourcing that made her look phony. It was garbage. It stood in stark contrast to the insightful and warm-hearted tweets that overwhelmingly were the consensus on Twitter, from wildly different parts of the Internet spectrum.

Elon Musk became Twitter Inc's (TWTR.N) owner on Thursday, firing top executives and providing little clarity over how he will achieve the lofty ambitions he has outlined for the influential social media platform. "The bird is freed," he tweeted, referencing Twitter's bird logo in an apparent nod to his desire to see the company have fewer limits on content that can be posted. The CEO of electric car maker Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) has, however, also said he wants to prevent the platform from becoming an echo chamber for hate and division. Other goals include wanting to "defeat" spam bots on Twitter and make the algorithms

SAN FRANCISCO — Elon Musk has started cleaning house at Twitter with the firings of at least four top executives on Thursday, said two people with knowledge of the situation, as the billionaire closes his $44 billion takeover of the social media company. The Twitter executives who were fired include Parag Agrawal, Twitter’s chief executive, Ned Segal, the chief financial officer, Vijaya Gadde, the top legal and policy executive, and Sean Edgett, the general counsel, said the people, who declined to be identified because they were not authorized to speak publicly. At least one of the executives who was fired was escorted out of Twitter’s office, they said.

Gretchen Whitmer left thrashing after

It's been a bad show for Democrats in midterm debates around the country -- in Pennsylvania and New York last night, and earlier in Arizona, Florida, Texas, and more. Even the Democrats think so [Snip for tweet] Michigan's gubernatorial debate was right there in with the losses. Incumbent Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was left thrashing after her debate tangle with GOP challenger Tudor Dixon. She failed to defend her record, failed to advance a new vision for the state, and let out whoppers that were instant campaign ads for Republicans as the final days ahead of midterm itself closes in.

Paranoia and fearmongering -- you can just smell it among the Democrats and their boosters. Today they got caught putting out bare naked disinformation about Republican plans for the country once they win the midterm election. They claimed Republicans were going to steal grandma's Social Security check and tax veterans benefits, among other unpopular ideas no credible party would ever endorse. These Democrats know they're slip-sliding away, you can see it even in the governors' races now, so the idea now is to scare the voters into voting for the Democrat status quo instead of embrace a new party. One problem: It's not a distortion of the Republican plans, it's actual lies,

If Joe Biden disgusts us with stubborn willingness to sacrifice the entire economy for the sake of his greenie, open-borders, big-spending, agenda, note that Democrats have it in for him, too. For Democrats, their logic is that Joe has sacrificed their political power for the sake of his greenie, open-borders, big-spending agenda. They cite 'inflation,' forgetting that they were the ones who enacted the big spending that triggered the inflation and Joe embraced, and somehow, Joe hasn't magically stopped it. For them, this is simple: angry voters at midterms about to destroy their party's majority in the House and Senate, so Joe is going to pay for it.

The tottery, weak government of Liz Truss in the U.K. has come to a mercifully short end. It was unfortunate -- there were high hopes that Truss could be another Margaret Thatcher, which is what the U.K. needs, and Truss had barely started the job, having lasted all of 44 days. The fiasco was triggered by her disastrous "mini-budget," an expensive subsidy program to counter high energy prices, combined with tax cuts, which the press repeatedly shouted were "not paid for." Old Joe Biden piled on with that one four days ago from Portland, literally between gobbles of ice cream, horning in on another country's internal affairs

So this happened, in Riverside County, (population 2.4 million) California, according to the Los Angeles Times: About 5,000 people in Riverside County will receive duplicate vote-by-mail ballots for the November midterm election after a “computer system error,” but the mistake won’t allow voters to cast ballots twice, according to the county registrar. The computer error was caught over the weekend, but not before 5,000 mail-in ballots were sent to voters living in Canyon Lake, Menifee, Murrieta, Wildomar and Winchester, said Rebecca Spencer, the Riverside County registrar of voters.

I don’t understand why Republican candidates for office are not challenging their opponents on whether or not they support President Biden’s harming national security by draining of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve for temporary price declines at the gasoline pump as the nation votes. Biden’s policies brought about high oil prices, starting with his cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline and limits on oil leasing on Day One of his term. Now, as international tensions soar, and formerly reliable oil suppliers like Saudi Arabia mull retaliation for slights from Biden, our ability to withstand a cutoff of diminishment of oil supplies is imperiled by Biden’s move to shore up his political support.

Just days before midterms, it's starting to turn toxic out there for Democrats. After a certain amount of blather about the red wave vanishing, it's back, with a vengeance, polls say, and Democrats look powerless to stop it. Start with the obvious here: President Trump is the most popular politician in the country. According to Fox News, citing a New York Times poll: More voters say they would vote for former President Trump than President Biden if the election were held today, according to a new poll from The New York Times and Siena College.

Even progressives were annoyed. Now Joe Biden is chomping on ice cream for reporters, and telling us, between bites and licks: "Our economy is strong as hell." (snip for tweet) Yes, the economy's "hell" all right, and Joe's cooling off with expensive ice cream while you and I and all the other Americans are taking the heat from it. What a vile picture of a president so out of touch he has no idea how bad he looks. He's flaunting his ice cream before us

In a tweet from Friday, Reiner accused the former president of “spreading The Big Lie for 2 years.” Trump’s questioning of the election results, Reiner argued, “directly” inspired the recent attack on the Pelosi home.

Hillary Clinton tweeted out her disgust with Republicans and “their mouthpieces” on Saturday, which is nothing new, but this time she is blaming them for acts of political violence in our country. She linked her tweet to an article in the L.A. Times on the deranged nutjob who broke into the Pelosi home in San Francisco and violently attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer. The Republican Party and its mouthpieces now regularly spread hate and deranged conspiracy theories. It is shocking, but not surprising, that violence is the result. As citizens, we must hold them accountable for their words and the actions

Beard – Beard is an American slang term describing a person who is used, knowingly or unknowingly, as a date, romantic partner (boyfriend or girlfriend), or spouse either to conceal infidelity or to conceal one’s sexual orientation. The incident at the Pelosi house on early Friday morning is still puzzling at best. There now are more questions than answers. The police didn’t share how David DePape entered the house in their first press conference. They did mention that they charged him with burglary but that was it.

Since it has been several years since focus was on the murder of Seth Rich and the publication by Julian Assange

Former President Barack Obama took his road show to the motor city where he sought to whip up enthusiasm among black voters, a demographic that it is imperative to get to the polls if his party is to have any chance of holding on to one-party rule, and things nearly got ugly when a crowd clamored for violence against a heckler. On Saturday, Obama was delivering his stump speech on behalf of Michigan Democrats – including lockdown queen Gov. Three days out from an attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband in their San Francisco home, we still know precious little about the attacker’s motivations—or, for that matter, about what precipitated the attack itself. That hasn’t stopped Democratic politicians and their allies in the mainstream media from fingering the culprits—their Republican adversaries—and concluding that, eight days out from an election in which they are bracing for a shellacking, the GOP should spend the final week of the campaign sitting on the bench, reflecting, atoning. How convenient. How cravenly and transparently political. Pelosi herself, meanwhile, is fundraising on the back of the attack.
