Truss's exit in U.K. is no indictment

The tottery, weak government of Liz Truss in the U.K. has come to a mercifully short end. It was unfortunate -- there were high hopes that Truss could be another Margaret Thatcher, which is what the U.K. needs, and Truss had barely started the job, having lasted all of 44 days. The fiasco was triggered by her disastrous "mini-budget," an expensive subsidy program to counter high energy prices, combined with tax cuts, which the press repeatedly shouted were "not paid for." Old Joe Biden piled on with that one four days ago from Portland, literally between gobbles of ice cream, horning in on another country's internal affairs

Comments:

It's a problem of Tories in name only.

Conservatives in the UK are not the same as Conservatives in the US. That was explained to me one time by a UK banking executive.

UK pols are either borderline commies or leftist. These so called conservatives are anything but. Like in the US, the uniparty globalist rule.

So this happened, in Riverside County, (population 2.4 million) California, according to the Los Angeles Times: About 5,000 people in Riverside County will receive duplicate vote-by-mail ballots for the November midterm election after a “computer system error,” but the mistake won’t allow voters to cast ballots twice, according to the county registrar. The computer error was caught over the weekend, but not before 5,000 mail-in ballots were sent to voters living in Canyon Lake, Menifee, Murrieta, Wildomar and Winchester, said Rebecca Spencer, the Riverside County registrar of voters.

I don’t understand why Republican candidates for office are not challenging their opponents on whether or not they support President Biden’s harming national security by draining of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve for temporary price declines at the gasoline pump as the nation votes. Biden’s policies brought about high oil prices, starting with his cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline and limits on oil leasing on Day One of his term. Now, as international tensions soar, and formerly reliable oil suppliers like Saudi Arabia mull retaliation for slights from Biden, our ability to withstand a cutoff of diminishment of oil supplies is imperiled by Biden’s move to shore up his political support.

Just days before midterms, it's starting to turn toxic out there for Democrats. After a certain amount of blather about the red wave vanishing, it's back, with a vengeance, polls say, and Democrats look powerless to stop it. Start with the obvious here: President Trump is the most popular politician in the country. According to Fox News, citing a New York Times poll: More voters say they would vote for former President Trump than President Biden if the election were held today, according to a new poll from The New York Times and Siena College.

What is it about Democrats and ice cream? Nancy Pelosi disgusted many with her ostentatious fridge full of expensive ice cream at the height of the coronavirus lockdowns. Even progressives were annoyed. Now Joe Biden is chomping on ice cream for reporters, and telling us, between bites and licks: "Our economy is strong as hell." (snip for tweet) Yes, the economy's "hell" all right, and Joe's cooling off with expensive ice cream while you and I and all the other Americans are taking the heat from it. What a vile picture of a president so out of touch he has no idea how bad he looks. He's flaunting his ice cream before us

Thanksgiving is probably the most beloved, and uniquely American, of all holidays. Which is why what the Biden administration has done to it is so disturbing: A large slice of Americans can't afford it and aren't celebrating it. According to Breitbart News: One in five Americans are unsure if they will be able to cover the costs of Thanksgiving this year, and one in four plan to skip it to save money, a recent Personal Capital survey found. The state of economic affairs in President Joe Biden’s America is affecting Americans’ holiday plans. According to the survey, one quarter of Americans are planning to skip Thanksgiving this year to save money,

Joe Biden and all his minions have allowed gas prices to go sky high in a fanatic quest to force Americans into electric vehicles. One problem: They tend to explode after hurricanes. That's what Fox News found, citing warnings from local authorities about this latest health hazard from the purveyors of those who vow to make America "go green": A top Florida state official warned Thursday that firefighters have battled a number of fires caused by electric vehicle (EV) batteries waterlogged from Hurricane Ian. EV batteries that have been waterlogged in

Most readers already know that Tony Bobulinski was the business partner of Hunter Biden and his uncle, Jim Biden, the president’s brother, as they attempted to put together deals with foreign actors. That partnership broke up, and Bobulinski has become a whistleblower. But his efforts to interest the FBI in multiple Biden family felonies, including against him, have come to naught. Last night, in a second sit down interview with Tucker Carlson, Bobulinski laid out stunning details on how the FBI deep sixed any public revelations, much less indictments, based on what Bobulinski says are thousands of pages of proof, including emails, text messages, recorded phone calls, and actual business documents.

Ian wasn’t supposed to be a giant-killer. The Gulf coast of Florida is not usually a place where notable hurricanes hit. Usually they hit on the east coast of Florida or they beeline it across the Gulf to Alabama or Louisiana, or they just peter out and skitter into the Gulf of Mexico to die. But not this. Ian devastated parts of the Gulf coast of Florida, went inland and continued to wreak havoc there. Small Gulf cities like Englewood and Venice, Ft. Myers and others, were decimated by flooding and fallen trees. Ian started his rampage out in the Caribbean and circuitously sneaked his way into the Gulf.

While we should never count our chickens until they are fully out of their shells, there is almost unanimous agreement among the major polling groups that the GOP should be able to retake the majority in the House next month. (Insert the standard caveat about how bad the polling has been of late here.) If that happens, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy still appears to be the odds-on favorite to be the next Speaker, though that assumption also comes with a few caveats. Some of the GOP members in the lower chamber have clearly been feeling their oats and have been starting to suggest that Joe Biden might be impeached

We’ve seen a lot of climate change protesters in this country. Former President Donald Trump was subpoenaed Friday for documents and his testimony by the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 assault on the Capitol. Committee Chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson, Democrat of Mississippi, and Vice Chair Rep. Liz Cheney, Republican of Wyoming, issued the subpoena to Trump in a letter eight days after the panel's unanimous vote to do so, at the end of what was likely the committee's final hearing. The committee demands that the former president submit documentary material by Nov. 4, which would be followed by "one or more days" of his deposition under oath "on or about" Nov. 14, according to the panel's letter.

Tucker Carlson provided an accurate assessment of the overt anti-white racism in America that goes not only unchecked, but often praised. His comparison to Rwanda’s eventual genocide doesn’t feel that far off when one considers the daily reminders by many prominent media personalities and politicians of the “whiteness” that pervades this country. So it comes as no surprise that sheltered, entitled, and ignorant professional athletes would share these same anti-white views. For supposedly being oppressed, there is no shortage of self-esteem among leftist blacks. If they truly feared for their lives, it goes without saying that they’d hesitate to make such remarks.

Oil prices and President Joe Biden’s continued draining of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) have dominated the headlines over the past few weeks, but analysts say a more impactful and serious crisis on the energy front looms: a diesel fuel shortage. Diesel doesn’t get as much of the limelight as oil and gas, but it should because diesel fuel is the industrial lifeblood of the United States, and the price of diesel alone probably has a more significant impact on inflation and the prices you’re paying at the grocery store over any other factor. Without ample amounts of diesel, semi-trucks don’t move, farms are shut down, and critical manufacturing
