Energy Department Keeps Grids Running
Via Coal, Natural Gas

Reliable electricity is always important, but especially on the hottest days of summer. That’s why the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is still relying on natural gas and coal to secure electricity grids. On June 11, the DOE issued an order under Federal Power Act Section 202(c) related to Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC (“DEC”) and Duke Energy Progress, LLC (“DEP”), which together are known as Duke Energy. The order instructs the energy company to operate certain units at maximum capacity, even if that would violate rules about air quality or other standards established at the federal, state, or local levels.

JD Vance Just Gave Jessica Tarlov a Patriotism
Lesson She Won’t Forget

Watching Greg Gutfeld and Jesse Watters take turns dismantling Jessica Tarlov's talking points on The Five is one of my not-so-guilty pleasures. But Tuesday delivered something even better: Vice President JD Vance stepped into the ring himself, and within seconds, he exposed a glaring blind spot in how the left thinks about loving your own country. Tarlov tried to explain away a brutal new NBC News poll on American patriotism by chalking it up to simple political math. "Some of it is obviously partisan," she said, arguing that pride in the country naturally dips "when your party's out of power." "I don't think that's right," Vance said.
Decision Desk Calls GA Senate Runoff (Update:

As I write this only 57% of the vote has been tallied in the Georgia GOP Senate runoff between Mike Collins and Derek Dooley. As Ed pointed out earlier, Collins was endorsed by Trump while Dooley was endorsed by Gov. Kemp. At the moment, Collins has a decent lead which seems to be growing as more rural votes come in. In any case, Decision Desk has seen enough. They called the race for Collins shortly after 8 pm. There are once again a bunch of stories about whether or not Trump's endorsements have any impact on these races, but so far the answer seems to be yes.
Data Analyst: New Numbers Give Clear 'Warning

Democrats think they're going to cruise to victory in the 2026 midterms in the race for the House of Representatives. But they're not going to be happy with the data that CNN senior data analyst Harry Enten had to offer up on Monday as we get closer to the midterms. It's historically common for the party out of power - in this case, the Democrats - to be leading in the polling numbers, and they are. But the numbers may not be enough for them, and the warning signs are clear, as Enten explained.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom made the world's craziest possible presidential campaign announcement Monday when he dropped a five-minute video saying he's under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice, claiming that the investigation is politically motivated because he's considering running for president. Newsom doesn't say exactly what the investigation is allegedly about, but says that it's directed at his wife and references a grand jury: "In recent days, federal agents have knocked on the doors of family friends and former employees, not because they found a crime, because they're simply trying to find one. They're demanding records. They're abusing the grand jury

California Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton is releasing one shot after another at the disastrous Democrat administration in the state, exposing just how terrible woke policies are for ordinary Californians. Hilton shocked many people when he came out of the primary election leading all the Democrats, and even after a week of counting finally and allegedly edged Democrat Xavier Becerra ahead, it was still clear that Hilton had outperformed what many Democrats expected in the solidly blue state. Hilton is wasting no time celebrating, however, hitting the campaign trail every day to talk about issues that will appeal to Californians across

Democrat George Conway is threatening to put President Donald Trump “away for good” if he wins his bid for the U.S. House of Representatives in New York’s 12th Congressional District. The Never Trumper lawyer in a video Monday said his fight against the president has only begun, Fox News reported. “Hi Donald, it’s me. George Conway. I cost you $88 * million dollars and I’ve only just gotten started. I know you like putting your name on everything from your plane, to the Kennedy Center… sorry about that,” he said. “But the only thing your name is going to be left on when I’m done with you is the orange

The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Monday that it “welcomed” the announcement the day prior that Iran and America had come to an agreement to end active hostilities with a memorandum of understanding expected to be signed in Switzerland on Friday. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that, after weeks of negotiations, Iran and America had agreed to terms that would result in the end of the current ceasefire and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, where Iran is engaging in violent piracy

A senior American official said, “We have now signed a memorandum of understanding with Iran,” adding that President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf signed the document. The official said the agreement creates “a structure

Iranian military leaders celebrated the news on Monday that the country had agreed to the terms of a memorandum of understanding with the United States to end the current conflict, suggesting that the agreement represented “defeat and surrender” for America. The message from the Iranian armed forces command center, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, was markedly more belligerent and undiplomatic than the confirmation statements from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and other leaders in the civilian wing

Fox Corp. has agreed to buy the streaming pioneer Roku in a cash-and-stock deal valued at approximately $22 billion, including debt. Roku will continue to be run as an open, partner-friendly platform, the companies said Monday, and there appears to be no immediate changes that customers will see. Fox and Roku said that the combined company will become the third-largest player in U.S. television by share of viewing. Media reports had surfaced on Friday that Roku was looking at its strategic options, including a possible sale. Speculation was rampant as to which companies might be interested in an acquisition.

He made a terrible mistake for himself, his legacy, and for the country. He had said that he would not run again. And counterfactual narratives are always a bit tricky,” Clinton began

Former President Barack Obama's $850 million presidential library in Chicago has been plunged into a fresh controversy as contractors say they still haven't been paid just days before its grand opening. African American Contractors Association president Omar Shareef said seven workers contacted him to complaint about missed payments, Front Page Mag reports. 'It's to the point that they wished they had never done [the project],' Shareef told the outlet. Some subcontractors are missing as much as seven figures in payment, and many are feeling the pressure of keeping their businesses afloat. The 225-foot tall library dubbed the 'Obamalisk' is also facing backlash from critics who have branded its design 'anti-Christian.' Pastor

Say what you want about Democrats, but they sure know how to stick to their talking points. When the IPO for SpaceX made Elon Musk the world’s first trillionaire, Democrats were primed. Almost in unison, they cried about how “Americans are struggling to pay for groceries and gas,” how the economy “is rigged,” and how the rich “don’t pay their fair share of taxes.” It’s all out of the politics-of-envy handbook. But the latter claim is particularly galling, especially when it’s being made by lawmakers who know better. Ohio Democratic Rep. Greg Landsman, for example, penned an op-ed complaining about how

The multi-phase terror attack allegedly involved using explosive-laden drone aircraft to strike buildings in the vicinity of the event, sparking mass panic and driving the fleeing crowd toward a sniper team poised to pick them off, officials told Fox News Digital. A “second wave” of attackers then allegedly planned to storm the White House gate, officials said. The bureau learned of the plot on June 10 and executed a search warrant in Cincinnati, where the first arrest was made.

As I wrote last week, public schools are depopulating on a large scale for a variety of reasons, including a declining birth rate, the fact that many of them don’t offer a worthy product, the advancement of school choice, and others. Colleges are faring even worse for many of the same reasons. In January, Arthur Levine, president of Brandeis University, asserted that 20 percent to 25 percent of colleges will close in the coming years. Similarly, the Hechinger Report projects that 442 of the nation’s 1,700 private, nonprofit four-year colleges and universities, representing 670,000 students, are at risk of closing or merging over the next 10 years.
