Say what you want about Democrats, but they sure know how to stick to their talking points.
When the IPO for SpaceX made Elon Musk the world’s first trillionaire, Democrats were primed. Almost in unison, they cried about how “Americans are struggling to pay for groceries and gas,” how the economy “is rigged,” and how the rich “don’t pay their fair share of taxes.”
It’s all out of the politics-of-envy handbook. But the latter claim is particularly galling, especially when it’s being made by lawmakers who know better.
Ohio Democratic Rep. Greg Landsman, for example, penned an op-ed complaining about how

I guess we're all so stupid, that we don't understand the difference between an entrepreneur and a bunch of thieving politicians that made millions stealing from the backs of working Americans. And the liberals are the worst, most are wealthy heirs or lawyers that have never done an honest days work in their lives.

The 4,000 SpaceX employees are 'paper' millionaires until they sell their stock. Most IPO's restrict sales for the first 6 months post Ipo.
All wealth figures for the wealthiest people include unrealized gains until they sell the stock or real estate or other assets. Then, and only then are they subjet to taxes on their wealth.

Probably the biggest and most egregious, and most often repeated lie that we hear in modern times is "the rich don't pay their fair share". Marxists repeat this lie seemingly daily. Dems rattle on endlessly with this lie.
The fact is that the top 1% net worth taxpayers pay 40% of ALL tax revenues.
The top 5% net worth pay 61% of all tax revenues.
Basically, 16 taxpayers out if 100 are paying 2/3 of all the bills. 49 taxpayers of 100 are pretty much getting a free ride.
The bottom HALF of net worth taxpayers contribute only 3% of total tax revenues.
So...who's not paying "their fair share"?
The bottom half, IMO, are massively undertaxed. IMO, the minimum tax should be at least 7% on all income, if we are going to have an income tax. Too many voters have no "skin in the game" and see government only as a source of money flowing to them, not a entity taxing them, and they vote accordingly, always for some added government handouts to themselves, and 'more taxes on the rich'.

The tax stealers in Congress want everyone to believe Musk just pocketed a trillion dollars. No mention of all the people he employs directly, or the hundreds/thousands of vendor who provide the goods and services required to make his various companies operate.
Rather than whining about Musk, perhaps the millionaires in Congress can explain how they made their money on their 174k/salary, with no other visible means of support.

The attacks from the left are typical and motivated by pure envy and resentment But there is a fundamental flaw in the capitalist model that gets overlooked. The enormous concentration of capital in private hands is like storing electricity in a battery instead of using it for the improvement of public goods like buildings, transportation, bridges,:; and modernization of infrastructure. The China model of state owned enterprises with emphasis on collective benefits over profits allows rapid growth and improved quality of life for the whole of society at the cost of private property rights.
China's cities are 100 years ahead of our major cities like NY and LA. This cant' continue without the US declining into collapse.

I grew up the son of a construction worker (carpenter, then superintendent - self made man), part of Greatest Generation. Hard work was bred into us. I am still working (voluntarily not for income) at 75. No one in America outworks Elon Musk. Everything he has he deserves and he is an inspiration those who are not socialists and commies. Celebrate what he has done for America and mankind, rather than punish his success.

I propose a progressive voting system. First, pay no taxes and you get no vote. Pay 1-1000 in tax and get one vote. Pay 1000-10000 and get two votes pay 10000-20000 and get three votes etc.ect. 90000-100000 you get 10 votes. A system like this would be equitable right dems?

I'll listen to the left when their talking points (and action) speak of how they are turning from being hypocrites by giving up their wealth and paying enormous taxes to make up for their sins of being wealthy. Put up or shut up! you demons.

Keep it up, Dems. He may get so disgusted that me moves his companies out of the US.
America should be praising Musk. He works hard, mostly succeeds, and creates wealth for other people. We need hundreds more like him. And a few less envious, greedy politicians.
