I am willing to assume that there was a time when the NAACP did some good. (I do not make the same assumption about the SPLC.) But that time is long, long gone. For many years, the NAACP has been a force for ill, not for good. An excellent example is its just-launched boycott campaign:
The NAACP is calling on Black athletes and fans to boycott the athletic programs of public universities in states that are taking steps that the nation’s oldest civil rights group says are restricting Black voting rights.
There is no conceivable theory on which anyone is restricting black voting rights.
Launched Tuesday, the “Out of Bounds” campaign urges prospective

Like the ACLU, this organization is more into a hateful, disgusting, and anti-American entity! In fact, it is the black version of the SPLC!

This is absolute madness, demonstrating once again that "progressivism" is a severe psychological disorder.
It will accomplish NOTHING except ruin the careers of these potential student-athletes. Like biting your nose off to spite your face . . .

Good grief. No smart, talented black athlete is going to give up scholarships and the pure joy of playing a big time sport about a subject that most, white or black, don't care about. Very few even among the general public even know much about re-redistricting or gerrymandering.

That is mean and ridiculous to ask them to make such a sacrifice.

Typical Democrat leaders.
Their idea of suffering is to let others do the suffering for them. Any wise athlete who can compete at the SEC level would be a fool to let that opportunity slide just so some old Democrat hack can retain his or her seat in Congress by getting 85% of the vote every two years. Maybe if those Democrats would get out and actually campaign on ideas would be something they should do. But they won't.

I heard an interview with a retired black football player, Hall of Famer, and he said that the NAACP was founded in 1909 by 20 white leftists and one black guy to push Communist ideas in the black community. He said they have never been for black people, and always go against things like school choice which would help blacks.
Sounds right to me.

Sure, right after the NAACP pays for their college education in place of the football scholarship.
We'll wait.

Wondering how many blacks will actually not show up at the polls in November because they think their voting rights have been revoked. I’m guessing none.

I am very weary of these agencies telling black Americans that they are incompetent to do anything without special help because of their skin color. Full stop. We are Americans which means we have sworn an oath to our country, not our ethnicity. Divided we fall.

The name itself is an insult to black people. If you can't advance yourself without having a big, funded organization pushing you, you don't have a real reason for living. Tell Sharpton and lifelong grifters like him to get a real job and start building something.

The organization has outlived its usefulness. These athletes should mirror Dolly Parton when answering the question about where they stand on politics. Smile, then politely say that it's a private matter--that you're an athlete, not a politician, and your politics are your own. You owe your fans (school) the best you can give, and they'll get it. I don't care where these young athletes stand politically. College football is not the arena for political activism.

People still don't get it. You see 'THEY ARE WHO THEY WANT YOU TO HATE". Groups like this NAACP, the aclu and the democratic party all push racism to divide our country. Hopefully people will wake up soon enough to end their charade.

for some of these black athletes, sports is the only way they can get in and or pay for college. So, yea, go ahead and bite off your nose to spite your face.

I’m praying that the publicity about this can provide the opportunity needed to completely expose this anti- American organization for what it is. May eyes be opened to all things being done to deceive, and hearts be changed to recognize and vote to support the blessings we all have as American citizens through our Founding Documents. God bless US for good to prevail.

The whole concept of an organization for advancement of any group based solely on race is blatantly racist. What is wrong with those people that cannot see that?

Pretending to be relevant people do the stupidest things and so it is with the NAACP. Dr King is no doubt rolling over in his grave at this latest stupidity!
