During the left’s infamous “march through the institutions,” it brilliantly captured organizations that held gatekeeping authority over access to careers and professions. Among these were education, journalism, and much of the fine arts, but the most important was the left’s capture of the American Bar Association. ABA accreditation of a law school has been required in all 50 states for a law school’s graduates to be able to take the bar exam.
Texas and Florida just ended the ABA’s monopoly, and not a moment too soon.

As all eyes are glued to the happenings in the Middle East, this story flew under the radar for most of us.
But in a lot of ways, the implications for our national security could be greater than what happens in the next few weeks in the Persian Gulf.
Drone warfare has come to the United States—to the heart of our nuclear deterrent capabilities—and our defenses proved inadequate to B-52s are part of Operation Epic Fury, and operations had to be suspended at times because the drones interfered with the aircraft's ability to take off and land safely.

On the menu today: President Trump is adding his signature to the U.S. dollar. Also, a long, numbers-heavy look at the assertion going viral that the state government of California is “functionally bankrupt.” In what probably counts for optimism, I would argue the outlook for California’s budget in the coming years is bad — really bad — but not quite apocalyptic this-will-tear-apart-the-country bad. Israel’s military leadership has issued one of its starkest warnings in years, raising serious questions about the sustainability of the country’s defense posture amid growing internal strain and mounting operational demands.
At the center of the alarm is Eyal Zamir—the highest-ranking military officer in Israel and the commander of the entire IDF—who told ministers behind closed doors that the army is approaching a breaking point. According to reports from multiple Israeli outlets, Zamir warned the cabinet that the Israel Defense Forces could “collapse in on itself” if urgent reforms are not implemented. His remarks,

It's troubling that a state would feel the need to pass a law preserving a constitutional amendment. Not that the state feels that way, so much as the fact that there's a reason for them to feel that way. A few years ago, Missouri passed the Second Amendment Preservation Act. Unfortunately, the courts struck it down as unconstitutional. It was worth a try, and considering the way it was written, I think it probably deserved a much kinder take than the courts gave it, but the ruling was the ruling.
Missouri lawmakers, not to be deterred, gave it another go.
As we now know, it did not turn out well.

Cherfilus-McCormick illicitly funneled millions of dollars to her campaign and committed various campaign finance infractions, according to a House Ethics subcommittee, POLITICO reported. The panel could recommend that she be expelled from Congress.
The panel’s adjudicatory subcommittee deliberated well past midnight after an hours-long hearing. The subcommittee found “clear and convincing” evidence that Cherfilus-McCormick was guilty of all but two of the 27 counts that had been brought against her.

A little more than two months ago, when Zohran Mamdani was still in his first days as New York City’s boy mayor, we suggested that he should be driven from office. It was that bad. Has the situation improved since then? No, it’s only become worse.
Let’s start off with the mayor hosting a Ramadan iftar dinner on March 11 at City Hall, where he was joined by Muslim city workers.
Well, isn’t that the prerogative of the mayor? After all, Christian elected officials have used government buildings for prayers and faith-based observances since the beginning of the republic.
But was this just devout Muslims practicing their religion?

March 20, 2026, marked a turning point in the 2026 Iran war, when Iran launched two intermediate-range ballistic missiles at the joint U.K.–U.S. military base on Diego Garcia, a remote island in the Indian Ocean. Although both missiles failed to reach their target—one malfunctioned in flight, while the other was successfully intercepted—the attack sent shockwaves through Western Europe.
This missile proved that the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had lied for years about the true range of Iran’s missile arsenal. Khamenei claimed Iran’s missiles could not threaten beyond the Middle East and their range had been limited to 2,000 kilometers.

U.S. House lawmakers Thursday discussed a proposed framework for reducing federal deficits and slowing the growth of the national debt.
The federal debt surpassed $39 trillion on March 17 and continues to climb. Over the past year, it has grown by an average of more than $7 billion per day or over $5 million per minute, and budget deficits are the primary driver of its staggering rise. Budget deficits occur when Congress authorizes spending that exceeds what the government brings in through taxes, fees and other revenue streams.

Earlier this week, a federal appeals court held that the Department of Homeland Security could detain an illegal alien without bond pending his removal proceedings after he was arrested in Minneapolis in 2025. In journeyman fashion, the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals interpreted the applicable immigration laws as written and applied common sense to reach its decision.
That law, 8 U.S.C. § 1225, a nearly three-decade-old statute, requires detention without bond for “an alien who is an applicant for admission if … an alien seeking admission is not clearly and beyond a doubt entitled to be admitted.”

Reuters describes the vessels as "sailboats" and says they left Isla Mujeres, in the Mexican Caribbean state of Quintana Roo, last week. They did not arrive in Havana as scheduled on Tuesday or Wednesday. The journey is about 300 to 350 miles, depending on the route. Combined, the two boats had nine people on board, including eight adults and a four-year-old child. Reuters also reports that they were a part of the "Nuestra America Convoy."
