The Democratic Socialists of America believe voter identification laws are “racist,” but DSA comrade and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani wants you to provide a grip of IDs to have the honor of being an “emergency snow shoveler.”
How many IDs are we talking about? Five to be exact.
The NYC website for aspirational shoveler’s asks for the following documents on its application page:
Two small photos
Two “original forms of ID, plus copies”
Social Security card
That seems like a lot, but then again, shovelers who get hired make up to $28.71 per hour. Conservative commentator Stephen L. Miller pointed out the rigorous application form on the NYC government’s website on X.

We focus a lot on the various forces of Islamic terrorism around the world, and that's justified; there are far too many jihadi goblins out there. But once in a while we are reminded that we have our own, home-grown nutjobs, too. One such is one Dawson Noah Maloney, who sent himself to his own just desserts after an aborted attack on a Las Vegas-area power substation.(snip) Oddly, the attempted attack was allegedly carried out by someone who had driven all the way from New York, which is curious in itself. Central Intelligence Agency Director John Ratcliffe ordered the retraction of 19 intelligence products following an independent review that found the documents failed to meet regulatory standards of tradecraft and quality, the agency announced Friday.
Redacted versions of three documents obtained by The Federalist showed that the analyses promoted left-wing ideology, took sides on domestic political disagreements in foreign countries, fell outside of the CIA’s official role, and were sourced to left-wing media, nongovernmental organizations, and nonprofit groups. This commitment to advancing leftist activism appears to span at least three presidential administrations beginning in 2015.

According to the Washington DC spin, the various EU energy ministers changed clean energy justification of ‘climate change’ during the International Energy Agency (IEA) summit because they were concerned the U.S. would pull out of the IEA group. The IEA shifted to green energy as a security priority, no longer concerned with climate change. However, given the situation with European energy costs and the severe problems they are having within their collective and individual economies, what they consider “national security” appears to be their need to control public outrage at the green energy consequences.
Affordable or ‘cheap’ energy production is directly linked to the underlying economy.

If you’re struggling to make sense of the economy today, you’re not alone. Many so-called experts completely whiffed their forecasts, while positive economic data — the Dow Jones Industrial Average at 50,000 points — seemingly contradicts negative survey responses. But understanding five key elements reveals we’re about to be off to the races. First, 2025 was a year of transition for the economy. Under Democrat President Joe Biden, particularly his last two years in office, job growth was disproportionately due to government hiring. Similarly, government purchases played an outsized role in growing overall economic activity, as measured by gross domestic product (GDP).

You can’t say we didn’t warn New York what was going to happen if it elected Zohran Mamdani, but I gotta say, I don’t think anyone predicted it would start collapsing so quickly. But, alas, it has. That socialist utopia that Mamdani was supposed to deliver has instead turned into a slow-motion fiscal catastrophe a mere two months in — and even the liberal media is starting to notice.
Mamdani unveiled a $127 billion budget for fiscal year 2027 this week — a staggering $5 billion increase over the prior year.
But what's $5 billion between socialists, right?
To put that into perspective, Mamdani’s proposed budget is

First there were parents flagged at school board meetings. Then it was Catholics who preferred the traditional Latin Mass who were targeted for scrutiny. Now, the CIA's retraction of nineteen "politicized" intel reports on Friday -- on the heels of the agency's self-critique last year on its assessment of Trump-Russia collusion in 2016 -- has put the sharpest light yet on the infection of political bias inside American spy agencies dating back to the Obama era. President Trump’s first-term “Maximum Pressure” policies and aggressive diplomacy significantly lowered tensions with North Korea and set a path toward denuclearization and normalization of relations. Unfortunately, President Biden’s weak foreign policy and neglect of North Korea undermined Trump’s accomplishments and left him with new and complex security challenges to solve with Pyongyang in his second term.
These challenges will gain more attention later this month at North Korea’s 9th Party Congress, when North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will probably reiterate his new policy of an “unlimited drive” to expand North Korea’s nuclear arsenal.

Few things in Washington, D.C., generate as much as excitement and intrigue as a Supreme Court confirmation showdown. For decades, since the eponymous "borking" of then-Supreme Court nominee Bob Bork in 1987, political battles surrounding the membership of the nation's high court have been among the most contentious and raucous of Beltway affairs. Which is why it's rather curious that very few outside the most fervid of court-watchers seem to be discussing the distinct possibility that there could be one or two Supreme Court vacancies after the current term ends this summer.

The United States government (USG) should not go to war with Iran. Iran’s nuclear program is not a meaningful threat to the United States. How Iran is governed, how its government treats its people, and who the Iranians trade with is none of our business.
A genuinely America First strategy toward Iran would mean ignoring the country and the Middle East as a whole. The United States government has no core interests on the Asian landmass.
The USG should lift all trade sanctions on the Iranian regime, grant diplomatic recognition to whatever regime is currently in power there, and cease efforts to regulate or manage the Iranian nuclear program.

We were told this time would be different. We were told that a second Trump administration would not repeat the mistakes of the first, that hard lessons had been learned, and that the Deep State would finally be confronted rather than tolerated. One year into President Trump’s second term, it is both fair and necessary to ask whether those assurances are being honored—not from hostility but from a sincere desire to see the America First agenda succeed, endure, and become irreversible.
During President Trump’s first term, Congress squandered its moment. The first two years were consumed by infighting, hesitation, and internal paralysis, even with Republican control.

Virginia Democrats have planned a statewide referendum with perhaps the most diabolically Orwellian question in the history of modern democracy.
“Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia’s standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?”
Obviously, relatively disengaged voters will see this question and go, “Restore fairness? Sure, I vote yes.” So let me break down what it actually means.
First, newly empowered Virginia Dems redrew the maps for House seats in the most comical fashion.

Federal prosecutors are seeking to revoke the U.S. citizenship of former North Miami Mayor Philippe Bien-Aime, alleging he concealed key facts about his identity and immigration history to obtain naturalization.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) demanded that President Donald Trump give the people of the state a total of $8.6 billion in refunds after the Supreme Court struck down Trump’s global tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).
In a letter addressed to Trump that Pritzker posted to X, Pritzker described Trump’s tariffs as having “wreaked havoc on farmers,” having “enraged our allies,” and increased the cost of groceries.
Pritzker explained that he was demanding “a refund of $1,700 for every family” in the state, and that because there were roughly 5,105,448 households in the state, the total came to $8,679,261,600.

The Supreme Court decreed in a bombshell 6-3 ruling Friday that Trump’s global tariffs were invalid and that he overstepped his powers by using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to impose them. The decision leaves open the question of whether the government will have to issue refunds to many of those it charged, which would be a logistical nightmare. Although liberals are celebrating, Trump himself and his Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent both said they were undeterred and would use other methods to achieve their goals.
Three conservative justices, Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, and Brett Kavanaugh, dissented, and Kavanaugh came out swinging in his opinion:

It was a big week in the news. Marco Rubio went to Munich and mounted an eloquent defense of Western civilization. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tagged along, and proved herself not very bright for a cocktail waitress. The U.S. armada continued steaming toward Iran with no resolution in sight, and the Supreme Court lowered the boom on President Trump’s tariffs. In New York, the Mamdani era began its inevitable long decline. And much more besides. But as far as memes are concerned, the week was dominated by the Winter Olympics in Italy. California Democrats, seemingly eager to shield their sanctuary state from federal immigration enforcement, have introduced legislation that would effectively create a no-ICE zone around polling places ahead of the critical 2026 midterms. There's also the very crucial race for governor of California coming up in 2026. The legislation, sponsored by state Sen. Tom Umberg (D) and co-authored by Sen. Sabrina Cervantes, is being pitched as a defense against supposed voter intimidation from the Trump administration's ICE crackdown.

President Trump launched a scathing attack on Supreme Court justices Friday after suffering a 6-3 defeat on the legality of his “reciprocal” and fentanyl tariffs.
“I’m ashamed of certain members of the court, absolutely ashamed, for not having the courage to do what’s right for our country,” Trump said in the White House briefing room, after two justices he nominated — Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch — voted against his signature trade policies.

The Supreme Court’s tariff decision landed about where conventional wisdom said it would: The justices ruled 6–3 that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act simply doesn’t give the president the sweeping authority the Trump administration claimed. That’s not a political rebuke. It’s a legal one, and a narrow one at that.
Chief Justice John Roberts put the bottom line plainly: “We hold that IEEPA does not authorize the President to impose tariffs.”
That’s it. Not that tariffs are unconstitutional. Not that Trump’s trade agenda is illegitimate. Just that this particular statute doesn’t do the work the administration wanted it to do.

Don’t worry: Friday’s Supreme Court decision limiting some of President Donald Trump’s tariff powers won’t derail his larger, vital project of rebalancing US trade relations, boosting US industry and safeguarding US supply chains — nor should it.
Yes, he’ll need to find other ways (more permanent and legally airtight) to pursue those goals, but the high court’s ruling against his across-the-board tariffs illegal also made it clear he has many such tools at his disposal — including other tariff powers.
Even many of his allies warned that imposing import duties under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act was legally dubious;

In a 6-3 Friday, the Supreme Court blocked President Donald Trump’s imposition of reciprocal tariffs, which the president had successfully used to raise much-needed government revenue and level the playing field with countries charging exorbitant tariffs on U.S. goods.
The decision upheld rulings by lower courts declaring Trump’s use of a presidential emergency power provision to unilaterally impose the tariffs unconstitutional.
The ruling invalidating Trump’s tariffs immediately sparked extravagant conjecture and commentary about the implications of the decision.
