He has no authority to, for example, make the city's buses and subways "free" for commuters. In fact, a few days after he took office, the subway fare climbed to $3 per ride.
He also thinks he can make World Cup tickets "available to all New Yorkers," because — like all socialists — he has no idea how the real world actually work.

An arrest has been made after a fire heavily damaged Mississippi’s largest synagogue in a pre-dawn blaze early Saturday morning.
Mississippi Today reports the historic Jewish place of worship in northeast Jackson is the same one the Ku Klux Klan bombed in 1967 because the rabbi supported civil rights.
The outlet notes the Jackson Fire Department, the FBI and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested a suspect Saturday night in the latest blaze after the fire department ruled it arson, according to chief fire investigator Charles Felton.
The name of the suspect or the charges the person could face have not been released. No motive has been publicly notified.

Anti-ICE activists have begun distributing tire-deflating devices and instructions to their fellow agitators in Minneapolis in hopes of hindering immigration enforcement operations in the city, a local politician revealed. [Tweet]
The devices are 3D printed “tire-drainers” and were distributed in a neighborhood near the University of Minnesota with attached instructions and a link to the design file. The package recovered by Jerry Munson, a former state representative, held five such devices.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis said Wednesday he is weighing whether to grant clemency to Tina Peters, the former Mesa County clerk who is serving a nine-year prison sentence for 2020 election-related charges.
Polis told CBS Colorado that Peters received a "harsh” sentence and that officials regularly review long prison terms, especially older inmates, to assess their threat to public safety and whether they should spend their remaining years at home.
