The Trump administration’s decision to create a new Justice Department fraud division with a Senate-confirmed assistant attorney general has the right instinct and the right execution. Targeting fraud as a national priority is overdue. The structure of this new office will add clarity and independence to a section of crimes that often gets overlooked.
According to reports, the administration plans to install a new fraud chief with “nationwide jurisdiction over the issue of fraud,” operated directly out of the White House. That is not a small detail. It will help the Justice Department,

On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Story Is,” CNN Law Enforcement Contributor Steve Moore stated that the new video of the shooting by ICE in Minneapolis “leads me to believe that this was likely a legally justified shooting” and while he wasn’t ready to say whether or not the shooting was a justified shooting before the video, he now believes “a reasonable investigation will find that the officer was within the deadly force policy.”Moore said, “Up until this point, I wasn’t absolutely ready to come out and say that this, in my opinion, was probably a good shoot or not a good shoot.

Paramount Skydance has now initiated what insiders are calling “Plan D” as they look to upend Netflix’s “winning” bid for Warner Bros. Discovery, The Post has learned.
It involves banging home to investors the immense amount of regulatory uncertainty involved in the Netflix deal and how that could spell trouble not just for the transaction but for Netflix itself, say sources close to the talks.
Plan A, of course, was trying to convince WBD CEO David Zaslav and his board led by Samuel DiPiazza that its $30-a-share, all-cash offer for the entire company was superior to Netflix’s $27.75 cash-and-stock deal for the Warner Bros. studio and HBO Max streaming service.

The Trump administration is reportedly preparing preliminary plans for an attack on Iran, including the option of large-scale airstrikes.
Officials are considering how to follow through on President Trump’s recent elevated threats against the Islamic Republic, including what sites might be targeted, insiders told the Wall Street Journal.
A massive aerial strike campaign on multiple Iranian military targets is one option being considered — although Washington has not reached consensus on a plan of action. No military equipment or personnel have been moved for a potential attack, the insiders said.

Fun fact: A little-known 300-acre island in the Delaware River with a grand vista of Philadelphia is currently controlled by Venezuela.
Petty’s Island has been owned by Citgo Petroleum Corp., an arm of Venezuela’s national oil company, for decades — but recent international events and a court ruling have paved the way for investor and conservative donor Paul Singer’s Elliott Investment Management to take it over, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
A federal judge in November approved Elliot affiliate Amber Energy’s $5.9 billion bid to buy Citgo’s Venezuelan parent company Petróleos de Venezuela, through a sale of shares to settle billions in debts.

For years, some of us have argued that President Donald Trump's January 6th speech was protected under the First Amendment and that any prosecution would collapse under governing precedent, including Brandenburg v. Ohio. I was regularly attacked as an apologist for my criticism of Special Counsel Jack Smith's "war on free speech." I wrote about his history of ignoring such constitutional protections in his efforts to prosecute targets at any cost. I also wrote about how Smith's second indictment (which the Post supported) was a direct assault on the First Amendment.

Last week, 10 people were found guilty of cyber-bullying Bridget Macron, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron. These 10 individuals had been accused of spreading faults rumors about Macron's gender and sexuality, essentially claiming she is a transsexual. Macron, if you are unaware, bore three children with her first husband. The presiding judge remarked that the eight women and two men intentionally sought to harm the French first lady. How is this related to the U.S.? As we all know, the list of Democrat-generated hoaxes is virtually endless; hoaxes are their stock and trade, and frankly, their only viable strategy for maintaining (profoundly gullible) voters.

The organization that oversees the Nobel Peace Prize is throwing cold water on talk of Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado giving her recent award to President Donald Trump.
Once the Nobel Peace Prize is announced, it can’t be revoked, transferred or shared with others, the Norwegian Nobel Institute said in a short statement on Friday.
“The decision is final and stands for all time,” it said.
The statement comes after Machado said she’d like to give or share the prize with Trump, who oversaw the successful U.S. operation to capture authoritarian Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro. He is facing drug trafficking charges in New York.

Welcome to the spin zone, New York: Courtesy of Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s mammoth communications team.
The Post reported Monday that Hizzoner’s press office is expected to be the largest in city history, packed with public-relations heavy-hitters boasting serious lefty bona fides.
Putting the “commie” in “communications,” ex-Bernie Sanders staffers Anna Bahr and Joe Calvello will serve as communications director and press secretary, respectively.
His current speechwriter, Julian Gerson, deputy communications director, Lekha Sunder, and campaign communications aide Dora Pekec will also staff the Department of Propaganda — er, Office of Communications.

Iran’s parliament speaker warned Sunday that the U.S. military and Israel would be “legitimate targets” if America strikes the Islamic Republic over the ongoing protests roiling the country, as threatened by President Donald Trump.
Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf made the threat after nationwide protests challenging Iran’s theocracy saw protesters flood the streets in the country’s capital and its second-largest city into Sunday morning, crossing the two-week mark as violence surrounding the demonstrations has killed at least 116 people, activists said.
With the internet down in Iran and phone lines cut off, gauging the demonstrations from abroad has grown more difficult.

Rogue states Russia, Iran and China joined naval drills alongside South Africa Saturday, as tensions mount between several countries in the block of nations and the US.
The week‑long exercise, which began Friday off the Cape Town coast and is being led by China, comes just days after the US seized a Russian‑flagged oil tanker north of Europe in the Atlantic Ocean.
China, Russia and South Africa are longtime members of BRICS — the 10-country economic alliance formed in 2009 that sees itself as a counterforce to US dominance — while Iran joined in 2024.

On Saturday, we learned that the United States had again hit suspected ISIS forces in Syria in an aerial attack. This is the second such strike in as many months. There have not been any news reports of any American service members injured or killed in Syria since the December 19th, 2025, attack. This second strike is presumably a follow-up.
Meanwhile, talks between the United States and Syria are taking place:
