But sometimes he makes sense: Tapper and his Original Sin co-author Alex Thompson joined Scott Galloway on The Prof G Pod on Thursday, and Tapper at one point recounted how a left-leaning podcaster made a racism jab about his son after Tapper revealed he wanted to go into law enforcement. “My son is now 15 years old, and he’s a gamer. He’s a football fan, starting linebacker on his varsity football team. The Democratic Party has no way of communicating with him. They have no entree into his world,” Tapper said during a discussion on the Democratic Party’s struggles

Bob Dylan celebrates his 84th birthday today. When he snagged the Nobel Prize for Literature a few years ago, I pulled out all the stops by posting a big set of my favorite covers of his songs. I don’t have any stops left to pull, but I’m adding another cover or four (again) this year in honor of his birthday today.

In February of this year, I wrote Trump imposes sanity on a green EV market. In that article I noted these characteristics of the rapidly closing electric vehicle—EV—doom loop:
*1000-pound batteries wear out expensive tires at incredible rates.
*Range is always less than the EPA and manufacturers claim. Public chargers are few and far between and often don’t work.
*EVs are much more expensive than comparable conventional vehicles.
*Parts are scarce and insurance and repair costs outlandish.
*They lose value at incredible rates and there is virtually no used EV market.
*They tend to spontaneously combust and since they make their own oxygen when on fire, are virtually impossible to extinguish.
*They’re bought almost exclusively

Today is the birthday of Minnesota native son Bob Dylan. He turns the ripe old age of 84. It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there. I want to celebrate him as long we’re both still around to enjoy the occasion. He is a remarkable artist, self-invented, deep in the American grain.
A few years back I visited Dylan’s old home at 2425 7th Avenue East in Hibbing. The house is a small two-story residence with a one-car attached garage on the side. Many pro-Israel people I know, both Jewish and non-Jewish, are deeply worried about Trump’s current Middle East positions. He’s marginalizing Israel in negotiations with Saudi Arabia, accepting on the government’s behalf a luxury plane from double-dealing Qatar, and handing money to the goons in Syria. At the same time, he’s seemingly freezing out Israel, to the great consternation of Israel and its supporters.
So, what gives? Having read Charles Lipson’s superb analysis of the problems in dealing with an almost nuclear Iran, and how Biden created this monster, I suspect that “what gives” may be Trump trying an out-of-the-box approach to isolating Iran long enough for his economic policies

Just two days ago, two Israeli Embassy staffers were murdered as they left the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC, in what has been described as an antisemitic attack.
The alleged killer of Sarah Milgram and Yaron Lischinsky, who reportedly were "just days away" from becoming engaged, has been identified as Chicago native and Party for Socialism and Liberation member Elias Rodriguez, who allegedly yelled "free, free Palestine!" as he was being handcuffed, detained and led away by police officers.

The Fifth Circuit panel is jumping through hoops detailed by the Supreme Court in a per curiam (no author specified) order on application for injunction here, with Justices Alito and Thomas dissenting.
