Most of us are old enough to remember Ann Coulter. Back in the early days of this here century, Coulter briefly cut a gigantic figure within the American Right. Many found her good-looking (no rarity among con women, it’s true) with traditional WASP features and a mane of blonde hair, though others found her a trifle horse-faced. For a time, it seemed possible that she’d attain a status second only to El Rushbo himself. She appeared on the covers of national magazines, became a go-to source for quotes, and was profiled and tracked in the gossip columns. For a year or two, Coulter appeared unstoppable. Then it all started

I adore Ann Coulter because she makes me laugh. Whenever I was summoned for jury duty I would always take a book of hers to prominently display to the two ambulance chasers who picked jurors. I knew if they spotted one of Ann's books I would be excused. My favorite Ann Coulter line: If the Republicans found a cure for cancer the Democrats would accuse them of causing mass unemployment among lab rats. I read her columns when I can find them. A really sharp wit.

FTA: All these play a role. But I think the major factor is this: Some people have extraordinarily strange ideas about what conservatism is and what it’s supposed to do. We’ve all run into those types whose plan for saving the country involves burning all Beatles albums or splitting the U.S. into two nations or executing, hanging, or torturing whatever group aroused their ire that day.

IF by Rudyard Kipling If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies, Or being hated, don’t give way to hating, And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream—and not make dreams your master; If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’ If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son! Winning isn’t easy. President Trump is in my prayers every day. He is the man and leader America needs right now. I’m thankful for him. May God continue to bless, protect and guide him for the good of our nation.

I don't know where J. R. dunn has been lately. Actually, I have seen Ann Coulter on several podcasts recently. She's the same Ann, but now she is thrilled with Trump and his first 100 days. And I just heard that Trump's popularity has risen since his Mid East trip. There are too many people who think everything they were mad about should be fixed by now. Washington doesn't work that fast, especially when the Democrats and judges are getting in the way. Trump and his cabinet members shouldn't have said they were going to change things "day one", but I have been very impressed with all of them, especially Marco Rubio.

Excellent piece by Dunn. I would remind that Coulter went so far as to write a book comparing Trump to God before succumbing to hysteria in our party's darkest days. She couldn't see Trump's simple defense that even had he finished the wall. Biden would have just knock it down. That is still true btw, and must motivate us going forward. I am glad Trump is there but he is by only at the most 1 inch of space, if you know what I mean. But, how God does things is also a mystery to me. I have thought for several years now that Trump would be re-elected and that while he is President the Jewish Temple will be rebuilt. As many may know, this will be a major event in Biblical prophecy. Of course, I could be wrong...something to think about. Keep your eyes open, and Read The Book.

I would not be this harsh with Coulter. Many smart, strong and perceptive people have made the mistake of underestimating Donald Trump and that was her mistake. When a person emerges in a field that is populated by the mediocre, a strong leader may overshadow other capable people and even scare them. Successful sports figures cruising on their records are terrified when a new hotshot joins the team and threatens to outplay them. General George Patton was such a man. He was a major force in beating the German army into the ground but drew a lot of criticism from more "normal" military people who commanded from desks. Ann and Rush were at the top of their game and political figures at that time were pathetic jokes so they ruled the roost. Clinton was daily joke material. Edwards was the precursor to Swallwell and Beto of today, a slimy wannabe with good hair. Donald Trump scared a lot of people, she was one of them and acted that out. Unfortunately that exposed a character flaw that she could not control.

It was Coulters mean girl opinion pieces that had my attention. At the time, Republicans were too civilized and mannered to get into the mud like she did. And full disclosure, I was surprised when Edward's affair became public. I was most surprised that the affair was with a woman. I'm still not convinced that he is 100% heterosexual. I did lose interest in Ann when she went after Trump 24/7 for the crime of not securing the border to her liking.

Democrats love to preach about transparency and democracy, but the latest revelations from inside Joe Biden’s campaign expose a deception that borders on a constitutional crisis. We now know that Biden wasn’t just a weak candidate; he was a figurehead propped up by unelected aides who planned to run the country in his place. In a stunning exchange on Fox News Sunday, a chilling revelation from Alex Thompson, co-author with Jake Tapper of “Original Sin,” laid bare what many of us on the right had long suspected about Joe Biden’s bid for a second term: It was never about serving — it was about installing a shadow presidency

Many pro-Israel people I know, both Jewish and non-Jewish, are deeply worried about Trump’s current Middle East positions. He’s marginalizing Israel in negotiations with Saudi Arabia, accepting on the government’s behalf a luxury plane from double-dealing Qatar, and handing money to the goons in Syria. At the same time, he’s seemingly freezing out Israel, to the great consternation of Israel and its supporters. So, what gives? Having read Charles Lipson’s superb analysis of the problems in dealing with an almost nuclear Iran, and how Biden created this monster, I suspect that “what gives” may be Trump trying an out-of-the-box approach to isolating Iran long enough for his economic policies
