The Great Man Returns

Original Article

It seemed fitting that President Jimmy Carter’s state funeral took place only days before President Trump’s second inauguration. Carter has often been described as one of the nation’s worst executives — a pejorative epithet now firmly attached to President Biden’s name as well. So it was painfully symbolic for the lost and confused outgoing president to eulogize his often-disparaged predecessor. One could be forgiven for wondering whether, at the end of his remarks, Old Joe might try to scooch Jimmy’s body to one side and join him in the casket. Both literally and figuratively, we buried two terrible presidents this January.

Comments:

Not just two terrible presidents, J.B. BJ and especially Obie come to mind, too. And now, a great man returns whom God, our Heavenly Father, approves as of July 13, 2024 - President Donald J. Trump.

That was a great, great speech -- spelling it out for those who have been tearing down America. It made up for some of the last four horrible years to watch their faces -- only didn't see the "leader" Ozero except when he walked in. The first duty of the prez and cabinet is to protect the citizens. They did not protect, but rather used lawfare -- and allow/invited many, many criminals into our country. I call Treason -- and believe that is who so many were pardoned by Obiden. What a bad joke on the entire world is the Democrat Party!

I remember seeing an interview with Melania Trump. The interviewer asked Melania will be president and her response was 'Only if he wants it'. In other words, he gets what he wants and nobody can stop him. It sounded like a description of an irresistible force. That's Donald Trump, an irresistible force. He ran over the Bidens, the Bushes, the Clintons, and the Obamas. They all opposed him but look who is standing. Either grab his coattails, get out of the way, or get run over.

This article described Bush to a "T"; he's definitely not aging well. I barely recognized him at the funeral. Maybe his conscience IS bothering him ~ hopefully.

I disagree with Shurk on his characterization of Bush. With what we know now, clearly the deep state tried to deny his 2nd term. He wasn't the one who declared that weapons of mass destruction were in Iraq. It was our esteemed and uncorruptable (gag) intelligence community that assured him of that. Same people that didn't see 9-11 until after we all did.

When progressive icon and communist dictator Mao Zedong launched his so-called Great Leap Forward (and later his Cultural Revolution) in China, he was rumored to have invoked an old French saying about cracking a few eggs to make an omelet. [snip]. In the wake of the latest devastating wildfires in southern California, it has been asked repeatedly: how can California’s voters continue to vote for the likes of DIE mayor Karen Bass, a dyed-in-the-wool racist who idolized Fidel Castro and shrugged off warnings of imminent fire danger in Los Angeles in order to go party in West Africa on the taxpayers’ dime? Or Governor Gavin Newsom, an oily narcissist...

On Monday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his intention to resign after the Liberal Party selects a new leader, marking the conclusion of a turbulent tenure at the helm of Canada. “My friends, as you all know, I’m a fighter. Every bone in my body has always told me to fight because I care deeply about Canadians. I care deeply about this country,” he said Monday morning. “And I will always be motivated by what is in the best interest of Canadians. And the fact is, despite best efforts to work through it, Parliament has been paralyzed for months...

As Barack Obama slowly fades from the landscape, let’s consider how he has helped to destroy Western civilization, especially the United States of America. He did this via his fealty to Iran, which allowed unchecked, deadly drug trafficking into America while giving Iran the time, space, and funds to develop its nuclear weapons. The Obama Administration killed hundreds of thousands of Americans by allowing the Iran-founded and funded terrorist organization Hezbollah to operate in the Western Hemisphere, where it built a narco-terror network that shipped illegal drugs into this country. The Middle Eastern threat is now below our southern border, something obvious as far back as 2011

After the Trump assassination attempt at Butler, I’m having an unexpected crisis of faith. What’s unusual is...I’m an atheist. Not just an atheist, but you know, the insufferable kind, the kind that insists on being sworn in without that “so help me God” nonsense. From a young age, I wanted things to make sense with reason my guiding principle. The idea of an all-powerful, all-knowing being whose address—Heaven—doesn’t even come up on Google Maps seemed more preposterous than Santa. At least we knew we could find Santa at the North Pole.

I would argue that, aside from 1860, 1984 was the most important election in American history. Ronald Reagan was running against Jimmy Carter’s vice president, Walter Mondale. At the end of the Carter administration, America was beleaguered, both emotionally and economically. When Reagan took office, the Iranian Hostage countdown had Americans glued to their television sets, and the combination of double-digit inflation and interest rates would knock them for a loop through the first couple of Reagan’s years. But then Reagan’s policies began to kick in.

Every day, more information comes out arguing against the government narrative that a “lone wolf” attack lies behind the assassination attempt against President Donald Trump. The Biden Administration’s feeble attempts through surrogates to deflect and deny have become standard and boring. The variations are endless but the content is the same [snip] Shortly after the shooting, a video surfaced showing a Canadian sniper unhesitatingly saying that the assassin did not act alone. A plot to steal the 2024 election from President Trump is well underway, and not just by suppressing information online or dragging Trump through the court system. Those are instances of throwing anything and everything at the wall hoping something sticks, but not the master plan. The real plots have a much more direct impact on the election results rather than just swaying voter perception. We know this because those behind these plots are openly revealing them. A recent joint CISA and FBI press release warned of potential “attacks on election infrastructure that support election operations, which could hinder public access to election information.”

The problem with many liberals is they can’t live in their own truth. They abandon ship as soon as it becomes inconvenient to maintain their current persona. The most obvious and telling recent examples come from the Democrat Presidential candidate-by-fiat, Kamala Harris. For the last three and a half years, she was ‘The Border Czar.’ But once the Nancy Pelosi-Barack Obama-Chuckie Schumer coup d’etat had been executed and Kamala Harris had been installed as the de facto Democrat Presidential nominee, her Border Czar title became a major political liability.

This isn't the plot of a dystopian novel but the grim reality faced over the weekend by the world following the compromised CrowdStrike update. Reports on the ground detailed a scene of unprecedented chaos that unfolded as critical sectors went dark.

I’ll preface my commentary with the obvious: All of the “mostly peaceful” protests by our “college educated” on campuses nationwide that are clearly pro-Hamas and aimed at Jewish students are wrong, illegal, and all involved should either go back to the classes their parents and taxpayers are funding or be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But why the sudden sanctimonious outrage from the media and pundit class, billionaire donors, business leaders, and politicians? Why are the harassment and threats against Jewish students a red line that’s been crossed and now found to be totally unacceptable? It’s only because the current violence hits too close to home.

The America that I knew regularly performed miracles. We put men on the moon, dug the Panama Canal, invented the atomic bomb, and created the transistor. There was no limit to what we could do. Nothing seemed impossible. Fifty years ago, the seeds of our destruction were planted with the beginning of the social justice movement, the anti-war movement, identity politics, and alternatives promoted as equal to or superior to intact nuclear families. We were told, “Do your thing,” without regard for society’s needs. A new version of communism stormed our shores, led by teachers’ unions, free love, and blaming whites for every wrong imaginable.

Joe Biden has always been a fabulist. Since he first stepped onto the national stage, he has woven myths about his life. Joe needed the gravitas of good grades and a solid academic background to move up the ladder of national politics, so he invented a student who never existed. Joe threatened to fight a man who asked about his academic chops and claimed he went to law school on “a full academic scholarship.” Except, he didn’t. He claimed he had three degrees from college. Except, he doesn't. He claimed he was in the “top half” of his law school class. Nope. He was in the “steerage” section

One year from now, you will not be able to turn around without receiving notice of America’s semiquincentennial jubilee. The jollity of the occasion will not change the fact that it will be seven years premature. The historical significance assigned to July 4, 1776, the date the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Second Continental Congress, is befuddling. Without victory in the Revolutionary War, which began over a year earlier, any declarations regarding American independence made during the summer of 1776 would have the same significance today as the “declarations of independence” made by the 11 Confederate States in 1860-61.

Just one day after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wrapped up his self-indulgent “magic minute” marathon, the truth is starting to surface: Even many Democrats weren’t impressed. His hours-long fauxibuster—meant to stall the inevitable passage of the GOP’s One Big, Beautiful Bill—ended up accomplishing absolutely nothing for the Democrats’ cause. The only minds that were changed were Republicans who flipped from “no” to “yes.” Let’s not kid ourselves. This wasn’t some bold act of resistance or savvy legislative tactic. It was performative grandstanding, plain and simple—a desperate attempt to look like he’s fighting while doing absolutely nothing to stop the bill. [Video] The bill passed 218-214

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of California has filed a class-action lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), demanding an immediate halt to what it describes as “unlawful immigration raids” across the Los Angeles area. The left-leaning nonprofit accuses the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of carrying out unconstitutional raids and targeting “migrants with brown skin.” The plaintiffs allege that DHS and ICE have carried out unconstitutional arrests in order to meet arrest quotas allegedly set out on June 6 by the Trump administration. The suit specifically claims that officials have based arrests and detentions on race and ethnicity with no articulable reasonable suspicion.

But for many Democratic leaders, the tax break and spending cut package passed by Trump’s Republican allies in Congress on Thursday represents the key to the Democratic Party’s resurgence. Republicans muscled President Donald Trump’s tax and spending cut bill through the House on Thursday, the final step necessary to get the bill to his desk by the GOP’s self-imposed deadline of July 4th. At nearly 900 pages, the legislation is a sprawling collection of tax breaks, spending cuts and other Republican priorities, including new money for national defense and deportations. Democrats united against the legislation, but were powerless to stop it as long as Republicans stayed united. The Senate passed the bill, with Vice President JD Vance casting the tiebreaking vote. The House passed an earlier iteration of the bill in May with just one vote to spare.
