Trump says he’ll skip an ABC debate

Donald Trump says he is pulling out of a scheduled September debate with Vice President Kamala Harris on ABC and wants them to face off on Fox News, making it increasingly unlikely that the candidates will confront each other on stage before the November election. In a series of Truth Social posts late Friday, the Republican nominee and former president said his agreement to a Sept. 10 debate on ABC “has been terminated” because he will no longer face Democratic President Joe Biden, who ended his campaign last month after a disastrous performance in their first debate

There never was a Trump/Harris debate but the stenos at AP care less. President Trump is right not to jump at their beck and call They still haven't settled the morass they created. No need for us to help them out.

The AP lies, as usual. There was no debate with Harris scheduled for September.

Why Fox? Until six weeks ago, ABC and the rest of the “legacy media” were shamelessly insisting that Joe was sharp as a tack and how dare Fox say otherwise.

Nice try with the use of the word “skip” in the headline, AP. The only person who skipped the ABC debate was Biden. New nominee, new rules.

Everyone seems to be missing the fact this is clearly Trump punishing ABC because of the snotty, confrontational attitude of the ABC journalist host at the Black Journalists event.

So intentionally misleading. Trump had a debate scheduled with Biden, not Harris. Biden is the one who dropped out of the ABC debate.

Remind everyone, using every Republican in front of a microphone, that President Trump is SUING ABC because of Stephenawlfulness, and add that there will be another lawsuit against AP for election interference, because of the lie that he had a debate scheduled with Harris.

On today’s Front Page from The Free Press: The Pennsylvania governor is the veepstakes favorite. But is he too pro-Israel for the Democrats? The fastest man in the world is an American. And more. But first, our lead story. “Threat to democracy” is out. Now, the GOP ticket is being hit with a new line of attack: They’re “weird.” Kamala Harris first tried out the salvo at a July 27 fundraiser in Massachusetts. “You may have noticed Donald Trump has been resorting to some wild lies about my record. And some of what he and his running mate are saying, it’s just plain weird,” Harris said.

Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly added confusion to the Democratic Party’s veepstakes Sunday when he put up – and then quickly deleted — a social post where he said his focus was now on “serving Arizonans.” The VP-hopeful raised eyebrows when he issued the statement on X that nearly suggested he may be out of contention to serve as the running mate to presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris before the post disappeared. “My background is a bit different than most politicians,” the now-scrubbed post read. “I spent my life serving in the Navy and at NASA, where the mission always comes first. “Now my mission is serving Arizonans.”

Kamala Harris gave her first unscripted remarks Thursday since ascending to the role of POTUS-in-waiting. She and Joe Biden were standing on the tarmac of Joint Base Andrews just before midnight waiting to greet four American hostages freed from Russia when a reporter managed to fire a question at the usually inaccessible pair. For some reason, Harris answered — but in her trademark incomprehensible word salad. “This is just an extraordinary testament to the importance of having a president who understands the power of diplomacy and understands the strength that rests in understanding the significance of diplomacy,” she said.

Wall Street is likely to be a bloodbath today. The first warning signs were on Friday, culminating on Sunday night when all hell broke loose in Asia. The Nikkei had its worst day since 1987, sinking nearly 4,000 points. It suspended trading after sinking nearly eight percent. South Korea’s stock exchange halted all sell orders as a looming wave of brutality is expected to hit Wall Street this morning. We’ll update this post accordingly, but a drubbing on the New York Stock Exchange shouldn’t surprise anyone. Also, don’t look at your 401ks (via CNBC):

Vice President Kamala Harris refused to accept former President Donald Trump’s invitation to a September 4 debate on Fox News a day after she officially became the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee. Despite declining Trump's invitation, Harris indicated she would debate Trump on one condition: if ABC News hosted the event. ABC News is historically known for leaning more Democrat, while Fox News, although not always a Trump fan, lean more right. “Donald Trump is running scared and trying to back out of the debate he already agreed to and running straight to Fox News to bail him out.

Trump entered the lion's den of Atlanta, the same chocolate city where Vice President and selected Democrat nominee Kamala Harris held her concert/rally four days prior. While both Democrats and Republicans boasted of record crowds for each rally, the distinction is that Trump did not have to use the lure of celebrities and rappers to draw in his crowd; he used his own star power, coupled with local talent and grassroots politicians and activists.

The Vatican broke its silence Saturday on the controversial drag performance that mocked Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic “Last Supper” painting during the 2024 Paris Olympics’ opening ceremony last week. The segment of the July 26 ceremony controversially replaced the biblical scene of Jesus Christ and his apostles sharing a final meal before his crucifixion with drag queens, a transgender model and singer dressed as Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and pleasure. The Vatican said that the performance, which sparked global outrage, showed a lack of “respect for others.”

Since assuming office, the Biden-Harris administration, in the tradition of former President Barack Obama, released billions of dollars to Iran. In addition, there was lax enforcement of existing sanctions, waiving of other sanctions and no secondary sanctions whatsoever -- meaning that any country that does business with Iran is banned from doing business with the US -- placed on Iran to discourage other countries from financing it. China therefore has become Iran's largest customer, and Europe conducting business as usual. This financial relief has come alongside a lenient attitude towards the advancements in Iran's nuclear program.

The Democrats think they will pitch a fast one, less than 100 days before the election coronating a radical, not very smart candidate as a substitute for a clearly demented president. They plan to avoid any unscripted remarks by her and any interviews or debates. The wisdom of keeping her mouth shut is evident. How long can they hide the Obama-Kerry-Harris close ties with the nuclear-weapon-seeking, terrorist-supporting Islamists of Iran who want nothing more than to destroy America? How long can the press allow Harris to airbrush her very radical political record?

Whether it’s channeled through ESG or DEI, corporate wokeism is a farce on so many levels that it’s hard to keep track. Google is said to be a paragon of ESG compliance (what’s the carbon footprint of a search engine?). Yet it’s one of the worst enforcers of speech codes among its employees, as the sad situation of James Damore shows. He was a Google engineer until he decided to write a memo assailing the left-wing bias in the Google corporate culture. That’s when he was fired.

Both groups are backed by Iran, which has sworn revenge. Biden will also speak to Jordan’s King Abdullah II, the White House said,

An account of the terrors of working for Vice President Kamala Harris during the days she was a U.S. senator has resurfaced. Terry McAteer, whose son worked briefly for Harris in a long-ago summer internship, wrote an op-ed for The Union in 2019 when Harris was in the midst of her failed campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination. This is not exactly a startling revelation. In 2021, as Harris’s staff was heading for the exit one after the other, Politico wrote a piece describing the vice president’s office as a hotbed of dysfunction.

Olympic boxing sunk to a new low last week. An Algerian boxer with XY chromosomes – the ordinary definition of “male” – and commensurate male testosterone levels – beat up a woman in front of thousands of cheering spectators. The woman who was beat up had to quit 46 seconds into the match, apparently with a broken nose. The liberal media wants to make Donald Trump’s comments about Kamala Harris’ race a significant point as we enter the final months of the 2024 election. It’s a tacit acknowledgment that the Democratic Party is underwater with groups that usually vote overwhelmingly for them in elections.
