A bipartisan bill that will advance the development of nuclear energy power plants in the nation was passed by the United States Senate on Tuesday. In an 88-2 vote, the Senate voted to pass the Accelerating Deployment of Versatile, Advanced Nuclear for Clean Energy (ADVANCE) Act, which is part of the Fire Grants and Safety Act (S.8.70), according to a press release from the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW). The ADVANCE Act will now move forward to President Joe Biden’s desk to be signed. “Today, we sent the ADVANCE Act to the president’s desk because Congress worked together to recognize the importance of nuclear

Fifty years ago Nuclear Engineering was a topic taught at all engineering schools. Then it was discontinued and on campus reactors were eliminated. Now it's making a comeback because fossil fuel generators are being canned due to the greenies. Everybody wants electricity but most don't want to be around where it's generated. Same thing with cell phones. Everyone wants a cell phone but most don't want to live near a cell phone tower.

People have caught on to the fact that electric power takes more fossil fuel to produce than using fossil fuel directly. The "clean" argument no longer holds water for the greenies.

More nuclear power is good, but the green weenies will disrupt things and it will be decades before we see a single megawatt of nuclear power. Watch Biteme sign this and jump out in front of it and turn it into a campaign year ploy to make people believe this will make EVs feasible, and continue to allow the EPA to pass rules to destroy gas powered vehicles.

Dems are pulling out all the stops for November. Wind and solar power are losers when it comes to quality of life issues. That won't stop them from wasting billions more on subsidies, but at least this provides a viable alternative to gas and oil. As for me, it's not fossil-fuel generation that feeds the global climate change (sic) agenda, it's the hot air from Washington.

It was in the mid-80’s, 40 years ago, that the US gov reviewed commercial nuclear waste disposal options and concluded that deep burial was the best option. Over 10 years, the US government assessed 9 sites, winnowing them down ton5, then three, then apparently one, and then zero. Today, we have NO options for long term secure disposal of commercial nuclear wastes, after 40 years of gov busybodying. This new ADVANCE act promises to be as productive as the 40 year old gov disposal Program, the 6 y/o gov EV charger program, and the 3y/o broadband acts. Lightning, thunder, wind…but no rain.

The greenies in government will throw up every road block they can think of, and the rest will go to court to stop every project. They'll make the cost so prohibitive that no utility will finish a single nuclear plant.

We've seen some horrible cases in the news lately of murders allegedly committed by illegal aliens, including the case of 37-year-old mother of five, Rachel Morin, and that of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray. In the case of Morin, the suspect reportedly "illegally snuck into the US three times in two months and was booted — before apparently eluding agents on his fourth try." In the case of Jocelyn Nungaray, two illegal aliens from Venezuela were arrested in her strangulation murder, although you might not have known that they were illegal aliens if you just read the AP account, since the AP didn't include that.

The Wall Street Journal reports that corporate America is backpedaling away from “diversity”: White-collar companies that once championed programs to recruit diverse employees are now tiptoeing away from them. PricewaterhouseCoopers and JPMorgan Chase are among those that recently removed or altered descriptions of their programs for underrepresented students. The shift came after an “anti-woke” movement took aim at U.S. companies and a Supreme Court decision overturned affirmative action in college admissions. Employers’ embrace of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives peaked in 2021, sparked by the death of George Floyd and the height of the Black Lives Matter movement a year earlier

As we previously reported, Joe Biden is taking a whole week off from being president to prepare for his upcoming debate with Donald Trump. The debate, which will be hosted by CNN, will take place on Thursday—assuming Joe Biden shows up. So far, nothing, not even Trump's conviction in the sham trial in New York City, has managed to give Biden the boost he needs to be ahead in the race, and the Biden campaign is clearly aware that this is a make-or-break moment for the Biden campaign. Earlier this week, CBS senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang raised some eyebrows when she explained to Robert Costa,

NEW YORK — Prosecutors who handled Donald Trump’s Manhattan criminal trial asked a judge to keep in place most of the restrictions imposed by a gag order, but conceded it was no longer necessary to limit the former president’s comments about witnesses who testified against him. In a filing made public Friday, prosecutors cited “intensified” threats against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, his family and the office’s staff, disclosing that two people involved in the case received bomb threats at their homes on the first day of the trial. Prosecutors described those threats as “directly connected to defendant’s dangerous rhetoric about this prosecution.”

Former President Donald Trump has made it a point to do something that most, if not all, previous Republican presidential candidates have failed to do in recent years: actively engage the black American community and try to earn their vote. On Saturday, in Philadelphia, Trump is doing exactly that by holding a rally in a predominantly “black and brown” (as the Left likes to say) neighborhood. And it seems to be a historic rally given that no other Republican candidate has seemingly held such a campaign event in such a neighborhood in Philadelphia in recent memory. The rally will be held at the Liacouras Center at Temple University.

The president - a week ahead of the surprise first debate against Donald Trump - continues to struggle in the polls, often trailing nationally and in key swing states. What's worse for Biden is that the Democrat Senators defending their seats this November are running ahead of Biden and even handily leading their Republican opponent. However, in the same polls, the consistently gaffe-prone Biden is either barely leading or outright trailing his long-time rival.
