During the pandemic, the American people started to feel that Big Government was very cozy with Big Pharma.
Now we know just how close they were.
New data from the National Institutes of Health reveals the agency and its scientists collected $710 million in royalties during the pandemic, from late 2021 through 2023. These are payments made by private companies, like pharmaceuticals, to license medical innovations from government scientists.

How many people were maimed or killed while they lined their pockets. Pure greed.

The cost of medicine is crazy. Why is it so crazy, because the pharmaceutical companies are buying Congress and the NIH.

My tax dollars pay their salaries and my tax dollars pay for the grants to develop these drugs. So why is it that profits aren't given back to me? If Pharma and its minions want all the profits then they should underwrite ALL the risk - not taxpayers.

Indeed, #2. I had robotic hernia surgery a couple years ago. I was trying to get a ballpark estimate of the cost. Online searches showed a range of $7-10k. When we checked in to the "medical mall" (that's exactly what it looked like), they gave me an itemized statement before I went back for prep. A little over $40k. "Would you like to pay your portion now?" Uuuhh, I'll wait until insurance sorts it out. Fortunately my company insurance was decent.

Where in the Constitution is there any mention of an NIH or FDA, etc? Federal employees working for a federal department that regulates the very products they're receiving royalties on because they helped develop for private companies? But Congress will keep on funding these departments because, well, the children or something.

I agree #3. It's like buying stock. If the company profits go up, so does the stock price. However, once again the news media is putting out old stories and presenting them as new info. We knew Fauci was making money off of the so called vaccine many years ago. Along with the phony accusations that Trump didn't do enough to stop the virus. They never actually state what actions Trump should have taken to stop the spread that Trump didn't do. He followed Fauci's advice for the most part because he had to.

And THAT'S why they squealed like stuck pigs when it became apparent that Ivermectin was a great treatment for COVID . . . they'd make no $$$ off of Ivermectin. Remember the hysterical denial of Ivermectin's effectiveness? I knew right then the fix was in for big pharma.

On top of the $710 Million in royalties, 45% of the FDA's budget itself comes from pharmaceutical companies. Add to that the money the pharmaceutical companies pay to sponsor some portion of virtually all news broadcasts in America.....they own the government, the media and us.

The drug 'safety' and 'testing' system is 100% totally corrupted. This is known by the term "regulatory capture" where the industry which is supposedly regulated by a bureaucratic agency becomes CAPTURED by the industry via bribes and corruption so that now the bureaucrats work FOR the industry, maximizing benefit to the industry, and eliminating any and all protections of consumers.
This is exactly what has happened. NIH, FDA and CDC are ALL fully controlled by Big Pharma, and don't give one damn what happens to 'mere consumers' as long as the pharma companies and crooked bureaucrats all get rich.

What is the use of bellyaching over all this? Same stuff happened in 2005 and nothing was done. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC545012/).
Is Merritless going to go after the Fauciettes? Ofcourse not!

No wonder they worked so hard to hide the efficacy of Ivermectin which was readily available, and cheap. This would have eliminated those royalties which is likely why it was full-court press against such use.
Believe the CDC was forced to remove their restriction from their website.
Ivermectin is an antiparasitic drug.[7] After its discovery in 1975,[8] its first uses were in veterinary medicine to prevent and treat heartworm and acariasis.[9] Approved for human use in 1987,[10] it is used to treat infestations including head lice, scabies, river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis and lymphatic filariasis.[9][11][12][13] It works through many mechanisms to kill the targeted parasites,[11] and can be taken by mouth, or applied to the skin for external infestations.[11][14] It belongs to the avermectin family of medications.[11]
William Campbell and Satoshi Ōmura won the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for its discovery and applications.[15] It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines,[16][17] and is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as an antiparasitic agent.[18] In 2021, it was the 341st most commonly prescribed medication in the United States, with more than 100,000 prescriptions.[19] It is available as a generic medicine.[20][21]
I suggest we place a very high tax on such royalties going forward so the taxpayers may benefit.

You don't go work for the government because you want to get rich! Such a system would attract wrongly motivated people and lead to all sorts of corruption. However that is exactly the perversion to our established system of governance evolved over hundreds of years. Now we see the rivers of money flowing to nondescript, unaccomplished bureaucrats in exchange for access and influence. One thing we learn from life is that persons afflicted with "wealth fixation" will never be satiated. They will forever remain "one new bribe" away from happiness.

Big multinational corporations, including Big Pharma, OWN the US government, both elected officials as well as deep state bureaucrats. It's the New American Fascism, or Twentieth Century Fascism, or Globalist Fascism if you prefer. Not your father's fascists. But fascists nonetheless. They have the Right still looking for communists under the bed while the corporate globalists (fascists) take over everything.
