The conventional wisdom concerning vice-presidential picks is that they don’t really matter because voters focus on the top of the ticket in presidential elections. This is ordinarily true, but 2024 is no ordinary election. This time the winner will be the oldest president ever inaugurated, so it’s eminently possible that his vice-president will be called on to finish his term. We know what that means if Biden wins, so Trump’s running mate will receive more than the usual amount of voter scrutiny. Thus, he must not choose another irascible white male or any Florida resident. This eliminates all but one

No, he's not. He's the ideal person to get Trump JFKed by a carefully selected patsy who isn't too closely connected to various alphabet agencies. Tim Scott would be comfortably friendly with the establishment, giving them no reason not to move him up after the "tragedy". Trump needs to pick someone they think will be even worse for them, for insurance if nothing else.

These “best VP picks” are just folks throwing names against a wall, hoping they’ll be the ones who get it right. Nonsense!
Senator Scott is too nice. But he’s a good man. Not VP material. That said, I have no prediction as to who the VP pick will be.

He’s my senator and a nice guy, but way too wobbly and weak for the VP slot. We need a pit bull VP to have Trump’s back and continue after him in 2028.

I'd prefer Ben Carson. An excellent counterbalance to Trump. Proven conservative. Calm and unflappable. Amazing and encouraging personal story. Washington DC tested as the Secretary of Housing & Urban Development. Likely doesn't want to be president so will allow 4 years for the next nominee to prepare and campaign while Trump & Carson can focus on cleaning up Biden's mess and teeing up the next administration.

We need someone more feared than Trump... more "Trump" than Trump... someone who actually will cause Leftists to pray for President Trump's safety, to prevent the VP from moving up. Someone like a Tom Cotton, or a Ted Cruz would suffice.

I like Tim Scott well enough. He might help get Trump elected, but I don't see him as strong enough to be the nominee after Trump or to carry on Trump's legacy and the MAGA movement.

Thanks for your opinion, David, but Trump will make the choice and if the guy is white, that's okay too. It's time to take off the DEI hats and get serious. Yes, Scott would be a good choice and nobody cares if the candidate lives in Florida. The left has shown us that the Constitution means very little unless the rules are to their advantage.

Why is Tim Scott’s name constantly on this list? Am I missing something? He is weak and malleable. He is not presidential material.

I've had quite enough of people put into office because of their race. Yes, Scott is a legitimate conservative, but the first reason, the main reason he would be selected is his race.

We need Mike Flynn, or a man just like him who is experienced, tough, trustworthy and battle hardened, to advise and work with President Trump in this vital fight for the restoration and freedom of this country.
We need a leader as tough as Trump, who can be depended upon for the knowledge, wisdom & loyalty to MAGA, and to have Trump’s back in any eventuality in this term, plus be ready to take charge and stay the course in the next one.
We no longer have time to waste on politics. We are at the point of “choosing this day”. It’s a matter of life or death for America as we have known her. May God have mercy and guide every decision toward success in saving our country.

I guess those who think any Republican not named Trump is a murderous establishment goon must also think Trump is stupid for choosing to hang his hat in the GOP in 2009, when he left the democrat party. Except for the early 1980s, when the country rallied around its conservative evangelist and experienced practitioner as a conservative governor of California, Ronald Reagan, the GOP has been a party of multiple factions and coalitions since its founding. I suppose such wisdom would also hold that Reagan was stupid for choosing GHW Bush as his running mate, who like still hated DeSantis, had the temerity to run against the Gipper in the primaries and was a (Gasp!) former CIA Director; however, Reagan must have believed it was most important to our country's future to get Carter out of office, even if it required some purity compromise along the way. Perhaps Trump believes more like Reagan in his willingness to forgive perceived political slights and do what he thinks is best for our country. If that involves Tim Scot as VP and/or reaching out to Haley voters to ensure ridding the country of our clear and present Biden peril, so be it.

I agree with #20. Mike Flynn would be perfect. He knows where all the bodies are buried. A second choice would be Byron Donalds, but Flynn is my pick because he is tough and "no nonsense."

Absolutely not. Tim is soft and he'll do whatever to get a gig including getting married when he doesn't even like women. Okay, why hasn't he gotten married all this time? Until now. Maybe,
