Puerto Rico Gov. Pedro Pierluisi concedes
defeat in surprise primary upset by Jenniffer González

Puerto Rico congressional representative Jenniffer González defeated Gov. Pedro Pierluisi in a surprise upset during a primary election held Sunday by their pro-statehood party. The two ran on the same ticket four years ago under the New Progressive Party, but González, a Republican, announced her plan to challenge Pierluisi, a Democrat, in early December. Public jabs between the two turned acrimonious during the campaign. Puerto Rico’s main political parties are divided by the island’s political status, so it’s common to find both Republicans and Democrats within the same party.

without them, cuba and choinaah could do much more damage. there's a massive federal presence there, for a reason. they speak english, work for major corps and industries, send their kids to school on the mainland. they are no more foreign than new mexico, arizona, or hawaii--although their politics are only slightly less corrupt.

there's plenty of welfare and refusal to work in the s.w., in nyc, . dc , and most mainland cities and states, plus hawaii and alaska. the gov't ensures it. the middle class abhors it. it's called vote-buying, on both sides of the aisle. many theres vote against american presence, statehood , money and power. some move here. some even work federal jobs for the u.s. govt. like new mexico, it is bi-lingual, but not foreign. ppl who have never lived there, or aren't privy u.s. gov't policy objectives have no good reason to call bs. anybody who wants to cut off and throw away a foreign political entity ought to consider tossing out d.c. a bravery medal awaits.

The first weekend of Pride Month in the “City of Brotherly Love” could be a preview of things to come when ideologically incompatible elements of the Democrat base come together. On a festive Sunday, LGBTQ+ revelers turned out in the streets of Philadelphia to celebrate their sexuality, kicking off an entire 30 days in which they will be honored by the government, corporations, pro-sports leagues, and the media, but the day didn’t go off without a hitch when pro-Hamas protesters disrupted their parade. Video footage posted to social media shows the clash of the aggrieved when a mob of anti-Israel activists crashed the holiday party, loudly chanting “Palestine will live forever!”

The Democratic National Committee was watching earlier this year as campaigns nationwide were experimenting with artificial intelligence. So the organization approached a handful of influential party campaign committees with a request: Sign onto guidelines that would commit them to use the technology in a “responsible” way. The draft agreement, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press, was hardly full of revolutionary ideas. It asked campaigns to check work by AI tools, protect against biases and avoid using AI to create misleading content.

During the pandemic, the American people started to feel that Big Government was very cozy with Big Pharma. Now we know just how close they were. New data from the National Institutes of Health reveals the agency and its scientists collected $710 million in royalties during the pandemic, from late 2021 through 2023. These are payments made by private companies, like pharmaceuticals, to license medical innovations from government scientists.

Chief Justice John Roberts on Thursday declined an invitation to meet with Democratic senators to talk about Supreme Court ethics and the controversy over flags that flew outside homes owned by Justice Samuel Alito. Roberts’ response came in a letter to the senators a day after Alito separately wrote them and House members to reject their demands that he recuse himself from major Supreme Court cases involving former President Donald Trump and the Jan. 6 rioters because of the flags, which are like those carried by rioters at the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

The people of Israel are peace-loving. They do not eagerly seek to join battles, they do not desire to destroy and kill. Even so, they once again find themselves forced to defend their homeland, their faith, and their right to live in peace. Perturbingly, they are besieged by those who deny their right to exist. Terrorist organizations, such as Hamas and ISIS, in contrast, appear to be driven by aggression, at times even a lust for violence, believed by many to be divinely sanctioned. At this time, however, Israelis seem to be alone in their task, and continually faced with obstacles their so-called allies place in the way of swift victory.

Some years ago, I was trying a denaturalization case of someone who aided the Nazis. As an aside, the judge mentioned that his dad had been distraught upon hearing of the Hitler-Stalin pact because he knew it meant there would be a world war. I felt much the same upon reading of the verdict in the New York case against President Trump. There have been a number of fine analyses of the case itself, and I have chosen one which I discuss below for its clarity, but I’m concentrating today on the aftermath of this ill-conceived political hit job.

Former President Donald Trump was reportedly subjected to boos and jeering from hordes of self-righteous libertarians this weekend. Trump addressed attendees at this convention, which will conclude with the nomination of their candidate for president. One thing is for sure: whoever the libertarians will nominate won’t win the 2024 election. After pervasive heckling, Trump delivered some haymakers of his own, specifically how this party remains in the basement of American politics, saddled with loser candidates with equally ineffective campaigns. The former president tried taking a stab at clinching this party's nomination (via Associated Press):

Former President Donald Trump managed to pull off a campaign miracle with a wildly successful rally in South Bronx on Thursday night. The Bronx is the poorest borough in New York City, and South Bronx is the poorest area. Most residents are black or brown, and they vote overwhelmingly Democrat. No Republican presidential candidate has gone anywhere near the area in decades. On Thursday morning, heavy rains flooded the park where the rally was to be held. Bronx-based Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., tweeted “God is good” upon seeing the weather, believing it would keep Trump crowds away. She also taunted Trump for being the victim of Democrat lawfare,

The Biden Administration’s recent announcement of tariffs, and other protectionist measures aimed at China, is the latest increase of economic tensions and search for political momentum. The White House moves may have increased the saliency of trade as an issue, but the ignition was the December announcement of U.S. Steel’s agreement to be acquired by another publicly traded company, Japanese-based Nippon Steel. Aside of what strategic approach toward China is best, the U.S. Steel acquisition agreement illustrates how protectionist rhetoric, including the supposed defense of jobs, does not match economic reality. Similarly, the national security rationale is a thin smokescreen meant to scare Americans with borderline jingoism rather than facts.

Lancet‘s guidelines encourage writers to embrace gender identity instead of biological sex. “Sex and gender are often incorrectly portrayed as binary (female/male or woman/man), concordant, and static,” says the guidelines. Therefore, those submitting articles “should use the term ‘sex assigned at birth’ rather than ‘biological sex,’ ‘birth sex’ or ‘natal sex’ as it is more accurate and inclusive.” Inclusive for whom? (Rhetorical question. I know the answer. WASHINGTON — Facing mounting political pressure over the migrant influx at the U.S. southern border, President Joe Biden on Tuesday signed an executive order that will temporarily shut down asylum requests once the average number of daily encounters tops 2,500 between official ports of entry, according to a senior administration official. The shutdown would go into effect immediately since that threshold has already been met, a senior administration official said. The border would reopen only once that number falls to 1,500. The president’s order would come under the Immigration and Nationality Act sections 212(f) and 215(a) suspending entry of noncitizens who cross the southern border into the United States unlawfully.

These news plans are still being put together and are being made behind the scenes to expand the routes to other ports.

Benjamin Netanyahu has something in common with Garth Brooks -- he has 'friends' in low places. In an interview with Time Magazine, Joe Biden addressed a number of issues, although just how much Biden addressed them may be up for some debate. Biden insists that he is one of Israel's greatest friends, and at least in the days after October 7, Biden appeared to have determination to act like a friend. These days, however, Biden's party has fractured on the war that Hamas started with those brutal massacres, rapes, and kidnappings. So Biden is tossing his "friends" under the bus today by quasi-accusing them of "war crimes," an

Everyone who has to go to court wants a sympathetic judge. But when a party goes “judge shopping,” it undermines people’s faith in the ability to get a fair hearing. It is bad enough when lawyers try to game the system in civil litigation. It is outrageous when the government does it to get home field advantage in criminal prosecutions, where the goal is to deny someone his/her freedom. Yet, that is exactly what the Department of Justice did recently, and was rightly called out for it. Isabella DeLuca was indicted in a case involving the Jan. 6 riot. The sooner he makes his pick, the sooner that individual can prepare for a vice-presidential debate, which could be held as soon as July. Still, Trump has kept people guessing, as he likes to do.
