A difficult concept to explain to ordinary people is that some people and some ideas are unadulterated evil, not just in their implementation but in their conception. Most of us are unfamiliar with evil because we spend much time and effort staying as far away as possible. There’s also an impulse to humanize others. Many want to believe the best in people and trivialize or gloss over readily observable behaviors that might lead to seeing a person as evil. People misinterpret evil acts as separate and apart from having an evil soul. Hitler is a perfect example of pure evil despite a superficial handful of humanizing qualities.

In Minneapolis’ consent decree suicide I wrote of the consent decree that Biden’s Handler’s Administration, in the waning days of that corrupt administration, tried to impose on the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD). If enacted, it would have branded the MPD as systemically racist and made it all but impossible to do its job, particularly where minority criminals were concerned. It would have allowed the federal DOJ, through a monitor hired at some $750,000 per year, to daily micromanage the MPD. Such consent decrees are essentially eternal. Implementation and paperwork mandates would have cost Minneapolis far more than a mere $750,000 per year.

In a recent article in the Wall Street Journal entitled, “Clean Energy Is Under Attack Even Where It’s Booming”, the author, Jennifer Hiller, bemoans the loss of tax credits for clean-electricity generation which are set to vanish under a plan proposed last week by congressional Republicans. She quotes Jason Grumet, a lobbyist with American Clean Power as saying, “The practical effect is an abrupt repeal of these incentives that translates into significant tax hikes that are going to freeze investment”.

Sara Brenner, worked as a career employee at the FDA until she was recently promoted to the No. 2 position under the new FDA Commissioner. Marty Makary. Brenner has recently stated that she never took the COVID vaccine despite it being a requirement for federal employees.
Brenner’s reasoning was that she was pregnant and concerned about the safety of the vaccine for both her and her child. Perhaps she arrived at that conclusion because she’s an expert on nanobiotechnology (although the picture she provided at the link is a curious choice), and therefore had serious and fully legitimate clinical reservations.

We've posted about remittances to Mexico in the past. It's a big number and the top source of cash for Mexico after oil and tourism revenues. It's US$ 63 billion, a lot of money, to say the least. It's also a lot of money leaving the U.S., specially from towns and communities that could use the funds to support local services.

In 1980, I was a forester working for the Idaho Department of Lands in the northern backcountry. On Sunday, May 18th, a few of us were having a barbecue. One subject that renewable advocates are averse to discussing is asset utilization and I can understand why. Capacity factors, which are a measure of asset utilization, plummet when renewables enter the picture. As a typical example look at Red Eléctrica de España (REE). In 2024, it had capacity factors for wind, solar, and natural gas of 22%, 17%, and 16%, respectively. In essence, REE possessed three expensive assets that were grossly underutilized. If it discarded the wind and solar, the natural gas capacity factor would rise to 64%.

Newly declassified documents from a 2019 FBI analysis released on May 28, 2025 show that Nellie Ohr allegedly “knowingly“ provided false testimony under oath to Congress about her actions related to the Crossfire Hurricane investigation. Ohr was a Fusion GPS contractor who provided research and intel in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, played a central role in pushing for declassification of the analysis.

At the outset, let me state my bona fides. I voted for Trump three times. I publicly supported his candidacy back when the media deemed him and his supporters like me stupid racists.
That was back when “Trump is literally Hitler” was the meme of the moment amongst the kind of people who don’t know the meaning of Hitler and don’t know the meaning of “literally.” Which is to say, most of the current mainstream media.
For the record, Trump is not Hitler, not literally or metaphorically, nor is he a fascist.
Contrary to popular belief engendered by the lamestream media, the word “fascist” does not mean “Republican.”

This week, we saw a spate of news stories blaming Democrats’ troubles on their vocabulary. They’re just using too many darn multisyllabic, academic-sounding words and turning off numbskull voters, is the basic message.

The Democrats’ problem isn’t linguistic, it’s ideological. But no one in the party wants to admit that.
A Washington Post story this week – “Democratic troubles revive debate over left-wing buzzwords” – begins by saying:
Maybe it’s using the word ‘oligarchs’ instead of rich people. Or referring to ‘people experiencing food insecurity’ rather than Americans going hungry. Or ‘equity’ in place of ‘equality,’ or ‘justice-involved populations’ instead of prisoners.
House Republicans likely dodged a political bullet when they opted against including tax hikes on the wealthy in this year’s reconciliation bill.
Trump promised his voters across-the-board tax cuts while campaigning, but once confronted with the difficult math of paying for his expensive agenda, the president — and some members of the GOP caucus — began to wobble.
So long as Senate Republicans stick with their colleagues in the lower chamber and avoid adding tax hikes to the “big, beautiful” bill, they’ll avoid paying a steep political price at the ballot box.

Saying that someone is "stupid" or "misguided" or "sick" when they are actually evil is making excuses for evil rather than pointing out that it IS evil and opposing it unconditionally.
