The Wealth Gap: An Existential Threat

Original Article

Since 1970 the value of the dollar has steadily declined. The lower 80% of Americans have lost income and purchasing power, largely due to the exodus of manufacturing by global corporations. As a result, the wealth gap between the global rich and the rest has widened. From 2007-2016 the net worth of the richest Americans increased by 20% while the lower 80% decreased by the same percentage, widening the wealth gap considerably. The Federal Reserve sparked this change using quantitative easing to boost the sagging stock market. The rich could invest in this wealth explosion but the rest could not as much.

Its called systemic looting of the treasury. Since LBJ and FDR our country has come to serve not God but gluttony, envy and greed. We cater to the something for nothing crowd. The pigs we elect to office have stolen not only the cash but the future as well. And its not going change for the better anytime soon.

Forget about the divisive Marxist wealth gap. It's all nonsense to detract from the real issue of bad government policies.

FTA: "The rich could invest in this wealth explosion but the rest could not as much." This is BS. The great majority of folks in corporate jobs have access to 401Ks which puts them into the stock market, and in the first year of the Trump admin, if your 401K was run by boneheads who couldn't do anything but match the Dow or S&P, you could still have a 60% increase in your retirement account in ONE YEAR. At this point, I stopped reading the article. More ordinary Americans own more stocks today than any time earlier because of the whole 401K retirement account deal. Are all in on this? No some resist any efforts to provide for their retirement, somehow refusing to imagine that they will ever be old and want to retire, or just unable to plan beyond next weekend.

Is This Why Hillary Clinton's Play Is Failing? 8 replies

No one wants to see Hillary Clinton’s play, even in deep-blue New York City. The poor woman can’t draw an audience unless Bill Clinton is there. The former first lady and two-time presidential loser produced a play called ‘Suffs.’ It’s about the American suffrage movement; no one could care less. It’s supposedly the height of Tony Awards season, where shows on Broadway should be packed to the rafters. It shows that even the most ardent liberals find the topic stale (snip) Oh, it’s three hours long. No wonder why people are refusing to buy tickets. It is a three-hour play in which everyone knows the ending.

I have a sneaking suspicion Michael Cohen

Michael Cohen is a congenital (and convicted) liar, but when he took the stand as a witness for Alvin Bragg’s “hush money” trial, Cohen said the reason he took a home equity line out to pay Stormy Daniels instead of pulling money out of his checking account is so that his wife wouldn’t see the withdrawal. Here are a few leads to all Democrat campaign workers posing as journalists and reporting on the trial: If you take out a home equity line, all the parties owning the home have to sign the document; yet it certainly does not appear that Cohen owned his residence by himself.

Michael Cohen took the stand Tuesday in what many are calling a theatrical performance in the sham Biden/Bragg hush money trial. Cohen admitted to lying to Congress and serving prison time, all in a bid to shield the man he now accuses: former President Donald Trump. Cohen now points a finger and claims, “…To keep the loyalty and to do things [Trump] had asked me to do, I violated my moral compass and I suffered the penalty as is my family,” according to the Washington Post He also admitted to profiting from his connections to Trump for personal gain

It was inevitable that the American Marxists would go down the road of justifying the current premediated chaos on college campuses by claiming it is no different than the marches, demonstrations, and unrest on college campuses during the 1960s. This absurd comparison is nothing more than a juvenile attempt to wrap Marxism, virulent anti-Americanism, support for Islamic terrorism, and malicious antisemitism in the flags of the Civil Rights and Vietnam War movements. The impetus behind the Civil Rights and Vietnam War movements, before they were hijacked by the radical Marxists

There are times when large wars produces miniscule results, waged only to re-arrange pieces on a chessboard (War of the Spanish Succession) -- and times when small scuffles will make or break a civilization (The battle of Thermopylae). This is what we are seeing now. Recognizing such instances is no mean feat. At the battle of Thermopylae, were the Spartans really morally preferable to the Persians? Both had Indo-European leadership, so this was not about race. The Persians were an autocratic tyranny with a semi-divine king, yet the Spartans were a totalitarian monstrosity. So which side was right?

On April 25, 2024 the Oxford Union held a debate on the motion that "This House Believes Populism is a Threat to Democracy." And who better to argue the case than former House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)? The only disappointment was that Our Nance did not once utter the words “Our Democracy.” The reports all tell us that Winston Marshall, one-time musician, absolutely nailed Pelosi, beginning with his remark that “Populism is not a threat to democracy. Populism is democracy.” But I listened carefully to Pelosi’s speech. She spoke without notes, which sometimes means that the speaker will fail to craft the narrative as precisely as she would wish.

According to the motion filed earlier this month, a lawyer for Trump was enlisted to act as an undercover informant/source in Jack Smith’s classified documents case.

Conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas painted a dark picture of what working in Washington, D.C. is like. Thomas described the “nastiness and the lies” he and his wife endure during a judicial conference on Friday, adding that the nation’s capital is a “hideous place.” His comments come following a question about working in a polarizing environment, calling it “incredible” to live in a world the way we do now. “But you have some choices. You don’t get to prevent people from doing horrible things or saying horrible things. But one you have to understand and accept the fact that they can’t change you unless you permit that,”

Freddie Gray was a small-time petty criminal and drug dealer, who back in April of 2015 was arrested for possession of a knife illegal under Baltimore law. Richly ironic was Gray was hanging out, likely making drug connections, in a Baltimore neighborhood notorious for that. Officers were there that day at DA Marilyn Mosby’s direction in response to community outrage at the lawlessness in the area. Officers made a lawful Terry stop on Gray who ran, was caught and searched, and the knife was found. On the way to jail, Gray was seated in the back of a transport van and was seen and heard to be bashing himself

Presently, the world press is tearing this man down, but he is arguably the greatest world leader of the past fifty years. Does he have his faults? Yes! Who doesn’t? But Netanyahu has had to navigate his country’s security through the decades when even his “friends” (Clinton, Bushes 1 & 2, Obama) wanted to enforce policies on Israel that were self-destructive. And his country had little margin of error if things went wrong. Soon after he announced a new world order, George Bush, Sr. started pressuring Israel

Alongside Biden's announcement came a letter from his campaign to the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD), and that letter revealed a few critical limits that Biden's team was placing on any debate between him and Trump.

The poll has a margin of error of +/-4.3 percentage points. First we asked a straightforward question: “Who is your top choice for Trump’s vice president?”

California Gov. As CalMatters noted, deficit estimates ranged from $38 billion to $73 billion: That prompted Newsom and the Legislature to take “early action” last month to reduce the deficit by more than $17 billion ahead of the regular budget process. Their plan included some program cuts, but mostly relied on new revenue, internal borrowing and funding delays and shifts for savings,

Instead, it cost them millions, leading to yesterday’s news that Chapter 11 bankruptcy is imminent and will be filed before Memorial Day. Hundreds of millions of dollars in debt are set to be restructured, with dozens of locations slated for closure (via WSJ): (X)
