Democrats are now beginning to deal with the fallout of House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) decision to release all the video footage related to the January 6, 2021, riot at the United States Capitol building. While folks on the right lauded the move as a bold step toward transparency, Democrats are crying foul and already trying to salvage their narrative that the event was some huge plan to take over the United States government. During an appearance on CNN, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), one of the more prominent House Democrats who spearheaded the Select Committee to use the riot as a political cudgel against former President Donald Trump

A U.S. Postal Service (USPS) employee and two others were arrested for a scheme involving stealing over $24 million in checks from the mail and selling them online, prosecutors say.
The postal worker, Nakedra Shannon, 29, was employed by the USPS as a mail processing clerk at a processing and distribution center in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to a statement released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of North Carolina.
Shannon allegedly worked alongside two co-conspirators, Donnell Gardner, 27, and Desiray Carter, 24, to steal incoming and outgoing checks from April to July 2023. The co-conspirators then sold the checks through the Telegram channel “OG Glass House,” per the statement.

Electric vehicles have been around for 100 years or so. They lost out to gasoline powered cars because gasoline powered cars are better. Is that ever going to change? At the Telegraph, Michael Kelly draws an analogy to the Concorde:
The man in the street has failed to embrace BEVs for the same reason he failed to embrace Concorde nearly 50 years ago: the extra cost – of order £10,000 per vehicle – represents an insurmountable barrier. People might pay the extra if they were getting something better in performance terms, but range anxiety and the lack of convenient recharging infrastructure remain formidable hurdles. Insurance costs are high too,

The Washington Post reported Saturday night (in Israel, Sunday morning) that a tentative deal had been reached in which there would be a five-day pause in fighting in Gaza in exchange for the release of at least 50 female and child hostages by Hamas.
No men would be released under the deal, and no male or female soldiers, according to the Post, which cited unnamed officials describing an agreement brokered by the U.S. and Qatar as intermediaries between Israel and the Hamas terror organization.

Rosalynn Carter, who as first lady worked tirelessly on behalf of mental health reform and professionalized the role of the president’s spouse, died Sunday at the age of 96, according to the Carter Center.
Carter passed away peacefully with family by her side at her home in Plains, Georgia, the center said in a statement.
“Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished,” her husband, former President Jimmy Carter, said in a statement. “She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it. As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me.”

At a summit of leaders from more than 50 Arab and Muslim states held last weekend in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Israel’s military response in Gaza following Hamas’ Oct. 7 massacre was fiercely condemned. But what was missing from the gathering’s final statement was any immediate solution for the 2.3 million civilians of the Palestinian enclave, more than half of whom are now internally displaced after nearly six weeks of fighting.
While the final resolution called for an immediate end to "the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza" and made offers of humanitarian and financial aid to the Palestinians, not one country came forward with a viable solution, even temporarily, for

Wall Street financiers are looking to Nikki Haley as the candidate to pull the 2024 Republican nomination away from former President Donald Trump, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Haley is currently placing third in national polling at 9.5% behind Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida at 14.3% and Trump at 59.7%, according to Real Clear Politics. Despite this, Wall Street is considering Haley as a viable alternative to Trump in the 2024 primaries, with some saying that they are “desperate” to keep the former president from becoming the nominee, according to the WSJ.

The abortion pill ends one life and damages another, Rep. A group of migrants have been forced to move into Boston's Logan Airport as the 'sanctuary city' has run out of beds for them to sleep in.
The party of up to 20 people, which includes babies, was seen sleeping underneath blankets on benches on Friday.
They arrived in Boston as the Massachusetts shelter cap reached its maximum and there is deadlock over how best to spend $250million for emergency shelters. Those migrants have been put on a waiting list after the state's system for emergency accommodation hit a cap of 7,500 families last week.

Kamala Harris is realistic about the prospects that she and President Joe Biden will need to 'earn' the nomination and their reelection campaign for 2024.
It comes amid new polling that shows Biden's approval has dropped to a new all-time-low of 40 percent and former President Donald Trump beating the incumbent by 2 percent.
The vice president flew to South Carolina on November 10 to file for her and Biden to appear on the state's Democratic primary election ballot as the President continues to brush-off concerns about his dismal polling.

JERUSALEM, Israel — Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant vowed Saturday night that all Hamas operatives would be killed — including those outside Gaza, sheltering in comfortable exile in Arab states like Qatar.
“There is no difference between a terrorist who walks around with a Kalashnikov … and a terrorist who wears a three-piece suit and walks around in another part of the world,” Gallant told a press conference, as the war entered its seventh week. “All of them are dead men walking.”
Gallant’s remarks hinted at the kinds of targeted killing that the Israeli security services carried out after previous terror attacks, such as the massacre of Israeli athletes
