Electric vehicles have been around for 100 years or so. They lost out to gasoline powered cars because gasoline powered cars are better. Is that ever going to change? At the Telegraph, Michael Kelly draws an analogy to the Concorde: The man in the street has failed to embrace BEVs for the same reason he failed to embrace Concorde nearly 50 years ago: the extra cost – of order £10,000 per vehicle – represents an insurmountable barrier. People might pay the extra if they were getting something better in performance terms, but range anxiety and the lack of convenient recharging infrastructure remain formidable hurdles. It is an understatement when I say that I think Biden is a failed president, but I give him credit for being better on the Israel-Hamas war than I thought he would be. Yes, he has been pressuring Israel to stop short of where it should, but this is mostly a result of the Administration’s judgment that US interests diverge from Israel’s regarding the war.
I am not sure that any other US president, other than Trump, would have provided stronger support for Israel.

Populist Milei’s election opponent, Economy Minister Sergio Massa, conceded, saying, “The results are not what we expected.” If Milei breaks the typical political mold and lives up to his promises, this could be a positive thing for Argentina, which has been a socialist mess for years. No wonder Argentinians are celebrating in the streets.

JERUSALEM, Israel — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released evidence Sunday that Hamas murdered captured soldier Noa Marciano at Shifa Hospital in Gaza. It also showed surveillance footage of terrorists taking other hostages to the hospital.

The postal worker, Nakedra Shannon, 29, was employed by the USPS as a mail processing clerk at a processing and distribution center in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to a statement released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of North Carolina.
Shannon allegedly worked alongside two co-conspirators, Donnell Gardner, 27, and Desiray Carter, 24, to steal incoming and outgoing checks from April to July 2023. The co-conspirators then sold the checks through the Telegram channel “OG Glass House,” per the statement.

The once prestigious Lancet medical journal has made the astounding claim the year 2023 saw “the highest global temperatures in over 100,000 years,” even though temperature data collection only began in the 19th century.
According to NASA, three of the world’s most complete temperature tracking records, maintained by NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Climatic Data Center, and the U.K. Meteorological Office’s Hadley Centre, began in 1880.
