Three House Republican leaders are considering tossing their hat in the ring to replace Kevin McCarthy as Speaker, according to Politico.
Steve Scalise
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, from Louisiana, is reaching out to members to gauge their support, three people with knowledge told the publication. Though Scalise had said he'd support McCarthy if McCarthy stayed in the race, it wasn't a secret that he wanted Speaker gig - or that he and McCarthy have had a strained relationship. Scalise was coy about his plans when reporters asked him about them earlier Tuesday.
"I enjoy working with Tom (Emmer) and our leadership team, and we have a lot of work

Scalise should get the job, but if I were him there'd be a condition or two. One, that everyone in the caucus including the "Gang of 8" would vote for him on the House floor. Second, get rid of that one person can call for the remove the speaker vote.
Jordan needs to stay as the watchdog. Don't know who Kevin Hern is.

This stand in guy did in hours what McCarthy should have done months ago. Kicked Pelosi to the curb. Maybe he can pull this mess together.

I agree #1, but I was led to believe that Scalise is currently dealing with cancer diagnosis? Maybe that wouldn't dissuade him....

I think Jordan would be a good speaker, but I don't want him to leave his committee chair until he hangs the Bidens out to dry.

I prefer Kevin Hern but I'm not sure he is mean and nasty enough to serve in the position. He's a financials person and that is what we need.

I read in other places that Trump is willing to serve as speaker and some want to nominate hi, One great reason to do this is to have one more Republican vote on the floor.

This will be interesting to watch. Jordan is extremely competent, and very conservative.

Steve Scalise looks worse than I’ll lately. I saw a quick video of him in hallway very recently when FNC was interviewing someone else. He is not up to putting in the time and hasn’t the physical stamina now. We can’t be silly.
Jordan is being heavily pushed and I know he has some good qualities but who are his generous lobbyists and donors? Isn’t Google one of his big donors? There is a rush to hurry up and in that rush, we can blow it. Jim really angry Kevin tossed out - why is that?

It is pathetic that you cannot find one individual with the courage, stamina and loyalty to the American people who will step up and take this job. We need an enforcer who is good at negotiation. One who will not cave and one who could care less about what donors think or want. I despair at the amount of principled men and women who serve on our behalf. Most are there for the perks and bennies. At this stage in the game it is imperative that we have someone disconnected to the donor class and deep state. We must have an articulate, principled, leader who will not give in to the braying mobs. We’ve got one chance to get this right and we must make sure the choice is a good one for we the people. No Rinos need apply.

100% Jim Jordan. Scalise is fighting cancer and God Bless him on that journey because I’ve been on it. It drains you. Jordan will put up with zero crap from the Democrats and I think he has the personality to rally the troops. We do not have a united Party.

What good were the Committees under McCarthy when he wouldn't let/allow them to send out subpoenas?
The only acceptable person who will unite those for McCarthy and the Freedom Caucus is Jim Jordan.
The MAGA people and President Trump are for him and Jim is a fighter. He would be great leading the fights
for fiscal discipline in the House and other fights like the corruption in the DOJ and the FBI and intelligent agencies.
At our house, we are voting for Jim Jordan and praying for him to bring down the lawlessness we've endured these
past few years.

Anyone such as Jordan, Scalise, Emmer, Massie -et. al.- are by definition as part of the GOPe RINO leadership, part of the Uniparty Swampers as well. This is bukkake theater at its worst. We are the recipients.
They talk bravely on TV and in hearings- but when and where it is time to drop the hammer on the Commies and subpoena and prosecute their sorry fannies, they claim to be powerless and excuse their weakness. Aided and abetted by the Rat Media all the way.
Jordan is a poseur, and undoubtedly compromised and likely being blackmailed. He was a Samson in the beginning but things have really changed.

I want Byron Donalds. He’s tough as nails and very conservative. Plus, I’d love to see the optics of all the demonicrats voting against a black guy.
