Beware the “Anger Manager” – Judiciary
Chairman Jim Jordan Says He Would Accept
House Speaker Role

Original Article

My dearest friends, as much as I do not want to accept certain things, this one is critical to accept. Jim Jordan has shown over time that he is simply a purposefully placed “anger manager” on behalf of the Professionally Republican wing of the administrative state. (snip)For the past several years, as more intensity has swirled around us, Representative Jim Jordan has appeared as more of a useful “anger manager,” better positioned to satiate the masses than actually deliver any accountability results. The media appearances seemed to align with that intent, and then a very big datapoint surfaced that few -other than myself- seemed to be concerned about.

Comments:

Hard as it is to imagine, would his speakership bring no MAGA change...just hands across the aisle conciliation? Points to ponder. Read before you pounce.

I read this on this yesterday and it is definitely good for thought. It is not just a negative blog to rile up Jordan’s critics more than they are. Kevin did not resign, unfortunately, and I heard retribution in his little speech. Kevin can manipulate and “advise” of either of his two buddies Jordan or Scalise are chosen. I have zero doubt Kevin is pushing them behind the scenes. This convenient little vacation called by McHenry gave the shenanigans time to yield what the Uniparty wants.

The history of Republican speakers is awful. The conservatives must retain the right to call a vote to get rid of them, if they don't do their job. We have been stuck with McConnell for a decade, even though he has very little support from Republican voters. The leadership can't be fired, and the bureaucrats can't be fired, which is how the Deep State keeps control of the government without popular support.

I can see where one can conclude that Jordan is a lot of emotional dissertation but no subsequent action (someone here earler referred to him as Trey Gowdy redux). Although Sundance offers no alternatives, I assume he would like to see Trump take the chair until he's again elected President.

So, according to Sundance, Jim Jordan is corrupt or, at best, compromised. Perhaps, Sundance muses, it is because Jordan covered up sexual abuse in the Ohio State wrestling program and was sheltered by Federal intelligence agencies, which means Jordan is owned by the Deep State. No proof or even evidence does Sundance provide. At any rate, Jordan actually has no intention of holding those who abuse their positions to account. He is all bark and no bite. So says blogger Sundance. Jim Jordan's actual sin is that he opposed removing McCarthy and after that defenestration is prepared, as the new speaker, to continue the nefarious schemes that the previous speak supported. The paranoia runs very thick in the basement where Conservative Treehouse is cranked out.

I wasn't aware that Trump had a skill set that included peace-making parliamentarian. Why do so many naturally assume Trump would be an effective speaker? The speaker's duties are nothing like those of running the Executive Branch. The speaker plays an important role as negotiator between the House and president and with the Senate, and as the point person for the House’s fundamental role in originating and passing legislation and controlling “the power of the purse” to tax and spend taxpayer money. Besides, Trump signed CRs in 2019, so if eliminating the CRs is a goal of the faction steering the House, post McCarthy, then I'd question Trump's eagerness and diligence to act as the terminator. Since 1850, the speaker has the right to vote on all House matters but it is unclear how or even if that would apply to a speaker who was not first elected to the House. So far, in our nation's history that has not happened.

As noted by Politico in 2021, when asked about Donald Trump getting involved in midterm primaries, head of the National Republic Congressional Committee Tom Emmer told reporter Jacob Rubaskin, “He’s a private citizen, and he’s entitled to his own opinion.” “I would tell him that it’s probably better for us that we keep these people and we make sure that we have a majority that can be sustained going forward.” Emmer followed later in March saying Trump getting involved in the GOP congressional primaries was “not gonna be helpful.” Fast forward to 2023, Emmer is now the House Republican Whip and wants to be Speaker of the House.

When news broke yesterday that Israel had bombed Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza, killing patients, children, and staff, every “anti-Zionist,” “critic of Israel,” and most big American journalism outfits ran with the horrible story. The tale incited worldwide condemnation and recrimination. But it wasn’t true. Israel did not hit the hospital. The Islamic Jihad did. Hundreds of people did not die. The missile landed in a parking lot. It was Hamas disinformation. The media’s disastrous failure on the Gaza hospital bombing story is one of the most vivid and instructive examples of the structural and inherent problems plaguing contemporary journalism. Others are dropping out including Florida newcomer Byron Donalds, who’s aligned with Donald Trump, and Kevin Hern of Oklahoma. The nominee will also need to win a majority in a House floor vote.

But what’s really bizarre is why the deficit exploded. According to the report, overall spending actually dropped by 2% compared with 2022 as the COVID-19 spending splurge abated. What drove up the deficit this year was a sudden and completely unexpected 9% drop in tax revenues. Not only did revenues come up hundreds of billions lower than last year, but they were well below what everybody expected them to be.

Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., has dropped out of the race for speaker hours after being named House Republicans’ nominee. Emmer won a majority of the GOP Conference on Tuesday morning after five rounds of voting, against six other potential candidates. But it quickly became clear that he did not have enough support to outright win a House-wide vote. With Republicans’ razor-thin majority, a GOP speaker-designate can only lose four members of their own party to win the gavel without Democratic support. At least 25 Republicans said they would not support Emmer in a House floor vote after he won the title.
