Biden cancels $9 billion in student debt
for 125,000 borrowers

Original Article

President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that he approved $9 billion in student loan forgiveness for 125,000 Americans. The relief is a result of his administration's fixes to a number of programs, including the income-driven repayment plans and Public Service Loan Forgiveness. More than $5 billion of the aid will go to 53,000 borrowers who've worked in public service for a decade or more; $2.8 billion of the forgiveness is for 51,000 borrowers enrolled in income-driven repayment plans; and another $1.2 billion of the cancellation will go to 22,000 borrowers with disabilities. The announcement is likely to help Biden as he runs for reelection, experts say.

Previously known as “vote buying,” we now have “forgiveness.” Works for me, since words can fluctuate and mean whatever is expedient at the moment.

Biden just loves to stick it to the taxpayers all for HIS own benefit. This is nothing more than trying to influence voters, but the fool is going to lose the votes of those who can afford his vote buying scheme the least, so in the end he may lose more than he gains and I hope he does. THE most corrupt president in history. MAGA Vote Trump!

Gender, Queer, Women, (fill in the blank Ethnicities), Artsy-Fartsy, whatever, anything that is unmarketable except for barista at Starbucks. They signed on the line, they owe it. Any other debt must be paid in full. It is only college students that are encouraged and feel entitled to be dead beats. Loans should only be granted that train students for jobs that pay enough that allow them to repay their loans.

Face it. The rich men north of the outer limits of society own all of us and they take money off the top from each and every one of us. Every day of our lives. Why does a loaf of bread cost us five times it did a generation ago? Is the bread any tastier? No, it is not! The value of our dollar is going down. The value of our work hours has dropped. The same gallon of gas I bought fifty years ago costs me eleven times what I paid for when I got my driver’s license. A chocolate bar cost 5cents in 1970 when the minimum was $1.75 and the worker could afford to buy a house in town. It costs 35 times that today, and the minimum wage has only gone up ten times that. Our money ain’t worth … nothing today.

Go to work for the government - get a higher salary than in the private sector - get a job guaranteed for life - economic downturns don't endanger your job - get much more benefits - get a retirement plan whereas the private sector pretty much no longer has retirement plans - and get your college loan paid off. And my experience with government workers is you don't have to work 8 hours a day. Go in late and leave early to make up for it.

$9 BILLION for 125,000 people comes to an average of $72,000.00 in student loan debt each being forgiven. FREE, wiped off their books to be paid by others. Can they at least make it where this "forgiven" debt counts as income and they must report it o their income taxes and pay income tax on it (federal, state, and local). There was a time when the people of this country served as an effective barrier against egregious government overreach. That was before a huge segment of the population, erstwhile conservatives, who traded the last vestiges of their courage for whining about Republicans. Tar and feathering while being ridden out of town on a rail were very effective deterrents to bad behavior by public officials, under the color of law, although a bit extra-judicial.

The US Funds Hamas 2 replies

When Donald Trump was in office the United States cut off funding that was going to terrorists. It wasn’t a tough call. Or rather, it shouldn’t have been one. But as you would expect the Left in the US and elsewhere have a soft spot for Palestinian terrorists, who get a pass because their primary victims are Israeli Jews. As “White colonialists” (European Jews are White, but vast numbers are Arab and Black) the Jews are an approved target of hate. The UN refuses to label Hamas or Hezbollah as terrorist groups and as a consequence they are eligible recipients of foreign aid, and the UN funnels huge amounts of

WARSAW, Poland — Poland’s voters delivered a clear verdict. After eight years of rule by a right-wing government, they have had enough. While the conservative ruling Law and Justice party won more votes than any other single party in a parliamentary election on Sunday, it lost its majority and will not hold enough seats to govern the country. Three opposition groups who waged an energetic campaign on promises to help restore national unity, rule of law and cooperative ties with the European Union and other allies, are poised to get their turn to steer the Central European nation of 38 million people. But the path ahead will be demanding.

The Taliban jihadist regime in Afghanistan sent its Industry and Commerce Minister Nooruddin Azizi to Beijing on Monday to attend this week’s “Belt and Road Forum,” a celebration of ten years of China’s global predatory lending scheme. The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is nominally a program run by the Chinese Communist Party that offers poor nations funding to invest in otherwise unaffordable road, port, and railway projects, allegedly designed to help those countries become more competitive economically and ship their exports more efficiently. China offers funding in the form of high-interest loans with a long list of conditions attached, which later erode the sovereignty of the countries involved.

Two major-media polls released yesterday show Americans strongly supporting Israel. When it comes to Joe Biden, on the other hand, not so much. I wrote earlier about a couple of the teaser clips from the "60 Minutes" interview with Joe Biden. Those were bad, but the complete interview was even worse. First, we should note that there was a little bit of water-carrying for Joe Biden with host Scott Pelley saying that the president was fitting them into his busy schedule on Thursday. Biden had his 10 a.m. daily briefing and a 4:30 meeting where he just had to sit and listen to CEOs, how is that busy? Maybe it's "busy" for an 80-year-old who has so many issues. But that's why he shouldn't even be there. Biden seemed completely at sea

Javier Milei, a far-right libertarian leading the polls in Argentina’s presidential election this month, has made a lot of contentious statements in recent years: Humans did not cause climate change; people should be able to sell their organs; his nation’s currency “is not even good as manure.” But, to many Argentines, he has done something far worse: attacked the pope. In 2020, Mr. Milei, a self-identifying Catholic, called Pope Francis an “imbecile” and “the representative of the Evil One on earth” because he defends “social justice.”

The charred remains were so disfigured that at first they did not realise it was two people. But when pathologists gently began to examine, they could see the bodies were those of an adult and a child. And they were hugging tightly. That is how it had ended for them, trapped in a room as Hamas terrorists set fire to their home. As the horror of burning to death came to them, the adult had nothing left to offer but to hold that terrified child in their arms. And as unbearable as that is, it is by no means an isolated case here at Israel's National Centre of Forensic Medicine, where the bodies

Once again, former CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley politely offered President Joe Biden a helpful platform to pretend he's taking the tough questions. A year ago, Pelley promoted Biden on more domestic concerns, while this was entirely about the Israel-Hamas war. The worst question was Pelley suggesting "hard-right Republicans" are making the world more dangerous with their failure to elect a new Speaker. (X) PELLEY: The president is asking for billions of dollars for Israel and Ukraine. But Congress is paralyzed. Hard-right Republicans are obstructing the election of a speaker of the house. [To Biden]: Does the dysfunction that we've seen in Congress increase the danger in the world?

Thirty-one Harvard student organizations condemned Israel following the inhuman attack by Hamas Islamic savages. It took her a few days, but Harvard president Claudine Gay condemned unequivocally the “terrorist atrocities perpetrated by Hamas.” She added in her statement that Harvard “students have the right to speak for themselves.” While it is good to know that the president of Harvard has moral clarity, it is regrettable that she does not require it of her institution. Gay states the obvious -- that students have a right to speak for themselves. But that’s not the issue. Of course, Harvard students have the same free speech rights as anyone else in America.
