Matt Gaetz burns down the Republican House

If you’re kicking yourself for missing the historic moment of a House speaker’s ouster Tuesday because you had to work or get your kids from school, relax: We watched, and all it boiled down to was hot air — sound and fury, signifying nothing except cynical nihilism and likely weeks of chaotic paralysis. Oh, Rep. Matt Gaetz and his fellow rebels talked plenty about high principle and the crisis of the Republic, but all they were really doing was burning down the House, or at least the House Republican majority.

Well the NYPost has finally lifted the veil and exposed its GOPe status. Those eight congressmen are the only ones standing on constitutional principles. The NYPost wants congress to get back to "regular order." So, destroying liberty and our very way of life is what the Post supports? Gotcha! Totalitarians are everywhere, masked as friends, holding a knife to our back. The Post is a backstabber just like the supporters who voted for McCarthy.

I have to agree the optics are horrid, how ever…Gaetz acted on the conservative call of death to rinoism. The question is will other representatives respect their voting base or remain seated in their snippy cup comfy chairs of business as usual?

"And the urgent question of aid to Ukraine — which could lose the war its now slowly winning against the Russian invasion if the help stops coming — remains in limbo." And this is the crux of the matter. Our Betters - who inhabit The High Ground - want war (and an open border). Gaetz has thrown a monkey wrench into that plan. They and their Uniparty write screeds and commentary like this to browbeat the Plebes with their condescension. Because what they've offered up so far has been so effective. By the way, isn't mocking those who "talked plenty about high principle and the crisis of the Republic" an ironic position to take after having talked plenty about high principles and the crisis of liberty and freedom . . . in Ukraine? So spare us your contempt. You don't know what you're doing or what you're talking about any more than anyone else does. If you did, your wise counsel and leadership would have fixed something by now.

What was Matt Gaetz trying to accomplish by getting rid of McCarthy? It doesn't seem clear to me. Was he trying to shut down the government? Was he trying to stop aid to Ukraine? They won't shut down the government. They have to keep the money flowing. It's one of those core values shared between Democrats and Republicans. As for Ukraine, I don't want to see Russia win, so I'm not against funding Ukraine. As for the Biden/Ukraine corruption, it would be wise to keep that as a separate issue from Ukraine's war with Russia.

Nonsense, Gaetz orchestrated a brilliant move by forcing Democrats to vote against Republican McCarthy to drive Ukraine policy changes. Democrats were gifted an Ukraine war off-ramp without any having to appear against continued war support. The issue was never really McCarthy but disastrous Ukraine policy which had become a billion dollar black hole with no end for no real purpose. This was a politics master class on how to win and win big.

Well, I hope this is good. 8 republicans + all the Dims doesn't sound like the start of something good to me. Usually, the 8 voting with the Dims would be the traitors, not the 210 voting against the Dims. Will these Dims vote for a balanced budget etc? So what is this new speaker going to do? And if the 210 Republicans are all RINOs, why would they vote for a non RINO speaker? Because the 8 force them to do so? I just don't see how the numbers play out, or how a miraculous change happens. But I am eager to surprised with the Miracle of the New Speaker. Let's just hope the Dims didn't vote for McCarthy's ouster because it's good for the Dims and really bad for us.

It was historic to be sure.... Now what? The demonrat socialist Marxists were only too happy to help! What's in it for showboat Gaetz? Cui bono?? I thought McCarthy was too moderate for my tastes, but SOME 'conservatives' act like he is the Second Coming of our Lord!! (it wasn't that long ago that most of the dems thought NoBama could walk on water, and many 'republicans' act as if PDJT can too.... sigh) Its much easier to DESTROY than to build.... So, what's the plan?? The republican party is tearing itself apart in the mean time.... It's time to throw many of the entrenched dems and reps OUT since they are showing us their "fruit" by their actions to spend U.S. into oblivion while allowing the Rule of Law to be IGNORED rather than to speak up for fear of losing VOTES!

Since the beginning of the Ukrainian counter offensive, Ukraine has bent the front line by about 5 miles in one spot (Bradley Square, as called by Dimas at Military Summary, YouTube). Russia is rearming with their own industrial and natural resource bases. Ukraine and the West are running out of weapons/ammo. Ukraine is a world wide beggar and is broke. Their aging conscripts are poorly trained and being sacrificed for nothing. Teenagers will soon be drafted in the corrupt Ukraine.

First of all, McCarthy was no prize. He should not have sent everyone home for the whole month of August, but why didn’t some of the Republicans speak up then like Mace? Second, Gaetz is no hero. He’s very good at stirring up something and used the rule of one to his advantage, but what’s next? I’ll change my mind about him when he runs for Speaker, wins, and actually gets a lot of our problems solved with only fellow Republicans and not help from the Democrats. As for the Post hating MAGA, this was an editorial and we all still have a right to our opinions, don’t we. Or maybe not, so we’re just dreaded Rinos if we’re not in lockstep. Rep. Matt Gaetz, Florida Republican and psycho killer, led the smallest caucus in Congress this week across the aisle and into the lap of Democrats. He and his Suicide Caucus joined 208 Democrats to remove former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy from his post. What a day that was. So much for the so-called Hastert Rule that the Suicide Caucus claims to treasure so dearly. Requiring support from a majority of Republicans for floor action apparently applies only to Mr. McCarthy. Such slippery people. Annihilating the Hastert Rule is, you might say, the ultimate RINO move. These people are into making flippy-floppy, and doing it far, far, far better.

One common denominator that explains why previously successful societies implode is their descent into fantasies. A collective denial prevents even discussion of existential threats and their solutions. Something like that is happening in the United States. Eight million illegal immigrants have entered the United States by the deliberate erasure of the southern border. Apparently, the Biden administration sees some unstated advantage in destroying U.S. immigration law and welcoming in would-be new constituents. Yet, the more the millions arrive, the more President Joe Biden and his Homeland Security director Alejandro Mayorkas flat out lie that "the border is secure."

The dynamics of what has fueled recent gridlock on Capitol Hill can be boiled down to numbers. While Democrats retain a slight majority in the Senate, even with the recent passing of Dianne Feinstein of California, House Republicans must contend with a razor-thin 221-213 majority — putting the GOP conference in a precarious position as any major bloc within the party can help pass or scuttle critical pieces of legislation. The House is a sharply partisan body, as opposed to the more deliberative upper chamber, which has a 60-vote threshold to pass most major bills. So House Speaker Kevin McCarthy of California faced a critical challenge on Saturday as he pushed through

His rhetoric, which has included denunciations of those who have served in the military (while he dodged the draft five times with a limp excuse about bone spurs) ought to disgust all but those who are in complete denial of the danger he would pose to the Constitution and the country should he be re-elected president. Humility is not part of his vocabulary and words mean something, especially when they reflect character. In the latest "indictment" of Trump's virulent rhetoric, his former chief of staff, John Kelly, issued a statement in which he says he witnessed Trump insulting wounded veterans and others.

The Biden administration will waive 26 federal laws to allow several miles of new border wall construction in South Texas, leading former President Donald Trump to argue that his signature policy was correct all along. The Department of Homeland Security posted the announcement on the US Federal Registry on Wednesday, allowing the construction in Starr County, Texas, part of a busy Border Patrol sector seeing 'high illegal entry.' 'There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas,' DHS Secretary

Biden paid a visit to Arizona to claim that everyone who opposes him is a threat to democracy, to brag about encouraging former Senator McCain to cheat on his disabled first wife, and to announce $83 million in taxpayer money for the John McCain National Library. The 80,000-square-foot library built on 22.5 acres at Arizona State Universe will archive McCain’s papers and claims, implausibly, that it will have over 100,000 visitors a year. Politicians stealing taxpayer money to build useless monuments to each other’s vanity is nothing new, but what is unusual is the source of the money for the McCain library. The Biden administration put out a press release announcing that

President Vladimir Putin has threatened the West with total nuclear destruction leaving 'no chance of survival' in the event of a strike on Russia. In a ranting anti-US speech, the dictator said his powerful missiles 'Satan-2' and 'Flying Chernobyl' are ready for deployment in an ominous doomsday warning. Putin told a conference in Sochi: 'From the moment the launch of missiles is detected, no matter where it comes from - from any point of the world ocean or from any territory - such a number, so many hundreds of our missiles appear in the air in a retaliatory strike that there is no chance of survival there will be no

Fox News will exclusively host and televise the upcoming debate for the House speakership, now that the gavel is up for grabs after Representative Kevin McCarthy was ousted in a historic Tuesday vote. Bret Baier will moderate the debate between House Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Louisiana, Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan of Ohio, and Representative Kevin Hern of Oklahoma on Monday in the Capitol, Punchbowl News first reported. The debate will not be open press, the publication said, which means reporters other than Baier will be barred from the room. Fox is still determining whether the debate will be live or pre-taped.

The pope — or, rather, whichever committee of handlers dictates his public utterances — had some stern words recently for Westerners and their “irresponsible” lifestyles. Via CNN (emphasis added): Pope Francis has made his strongest statement yet on the accelerating climate crisis, pinning blame on big industries and world leaders as well as “iresponsible” Western lifestyles, in a blistering statement on Wednesday. (snip) “Some effects of the climate crisis are already irreversible, at least for several hundred years, such as the increase in the global temperature of the oceans, their acidification and the decrease of oxygen,” he wrote…

Liz Cheney is jumping into the fight over who will be the next Speaker of the House, and she's brought with her (a) desperate warning: Don't elect Rep. Jim Jordan to the position. (snip) How many times can you cry about "democracy" being in danger before people just tune you out? (snip) CHENEY: "Jim Jordan knew more about what Donald Trump had planned for January 6th than any other member of the House of Representatives. Jim Jordan was involved, was part of the conspiracy" (snip) She's like Uncle Rico still talking about how far he can throw a football. Is there any depth to Cheney at this point?
