Kari Lake, a former Republican Arizona gubernatorial candidate, has officially submitted paperwork to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), announcing her bid for the U.S. Senate. After months of "seriously considering," Ms. Lake confirmed her intentions for a 2024 Senate campaign last week to The Wall Street Journal. Her campaign filed the necessary paperwork on Tuesday, a week before her scheduled public announcement on Oct. 10. Ms. Lake's goal is to secure the Senate seat currently held by Sen. However, the advocates worry they will be primaried by voters in their district, as the population of Republican voters supports Gaetz. It is a duplicitous dynamic.

The U.S. Senate passed the stop gap spending CR (Continuing Resolution) extending government funding for 45 days. The Senate vote was 88-9. Mike Lee, Bill Hagerty, Ted Cruz, JD Vance, Eric Schmitt, Rand Paul, Roger Marshall, Mike Braun, and Marcia Blackburn voted against the CR. The CR ends November 17th.
