An exercise in bluff-calling, a real showdown … or a case of extended adolescence? Perhaps today’s vote in the House will combine elements of all three — if it happens at all. Kevin McCarthy told House Republicans this morning that he plans a vote in the first series this afternoon on Matt Gaetz’ motion to vacate, potentially reopening the leadership election nine months after Gaetz and his allies lost it: This seems like a totally great fight to have right in the middle of a presidential primary, and just at the same moment that Joe Biden and Democrats are plumbing the depths of approval ratings.

Claudia Tenney told Kudlow yesterday that the Republicans need to stick together and pass legislation one small step at a time. Sounds good, but due to the overwhelming number of rino's on our side of the aisle it's always one small step in the wrong direction.

It's a sad day in the Republican party when trying to force a House Speaker to keep his promises and stop kowtowing to the Democrats is seen as "beclowning" themselves. Lead, follow, or get out of the way of those trying to restore the republic. I don't mean the RINO Speaker of the House.

For Hot Air's edification, Gaetz and his allies did not lose the Speaker election. The conservatives made an agreement with McCarthy that he would return to regular order on appropriation bills, and seek spending reduction, in return for which McCarthy agreed to do, if conservatives would drop their opposition to his Speakership. The conservatives dropped their opposition, based on McCarthy's word, which McCarthy has not kept. And by the way, Gaetz is not a hard right conservative, clown, or any of the other dispersions cast upon him by Republican Rino's. McCarthy lied, and Gaetz is correct to enforce their agreement, as the conservatives said they would.

Oh it's happening. They are about to vote later this afternoon. And the Dems just got their ducks in a row and they will all join the "Gaetz faction" in removing McCarthy. What a cluster----. Hopefully our next GOP speaker will be more respectful and more respected across all the GOP House Caucus. Kevin McCarthy has been a disaster from the start. And Gaetz and the others voting to remove him, do have to learn to compromise a little more with the rest of the GOP House Caucus. What the Dems just did to us with the non-shutdown, getting most of what they wanted, is a costly lesson.

Since McCarthy adds no value to We The People, unless you think governing by CR, allowing the weaponization of the government against the American People, and that laundering taxpayer debt through Ukraine is a good thing, the downside to this sh*tshow is it should have happened months ago. It’s way late.

For those keeping score, a GOP RINO motion was made to table the resolution and save McCarthy. It just went down 218 to 208, which means now there will be some debate and then the real vote will happen. It looks like McCarthy will be ex-Speaker by sunset.

McCarthy made several promises in order to win his speakership. He’s been a perfect little rubber stamp for the dems ever since, finding ways to make sure all their money grubbing bills and appropriations get passed. You go Matt Gaetz. I’m proud of you. Great job! Oddly enough,. I also heard that Gaetz has some issues with James Comer. You know, one of the other people who is going after Biden's family. Pretty interesting that he called McCarthy a swamp creature, but he just handed the swamp creatures a huge win. It's also very funny that he was griping about McCarthy making deals with the democrats, which is exactly what he went and did to get McCarthy voted out. In addition, he has now made us look completely incompetent to the American people., just in time for the upcoming election cycle. Again, you tell me who's working for the swamp., Gaetz is not a hero. And if you have any doubts about the ultimate outcome of this, just watche the reaction from the democrats. They're going to use this for all its worth to further paint the Republicans as inept. This was stupid.

The Biden administration seeks to force transgender orthodoxy on ordinary Americans via its Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The EEOC aims to weaponize a federal law prohibiting harassment on the basis of sex in the workplace by forbidding employers to believe that biological sex can not be altered due to one’s self-identification, according to a report by the Daily Signal. The federal agency published a proposed rule for workplace harassment Monday, citing the Supreme Court’s decision in Bostock v. Clayton County, which states, “sex-based discrimination includes discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.”

President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that he approved $9 billion in student loan forgiveness for 125,000 Americans. The relief is a result of his administration's fixes to a number of programs, including the income-driven repayment plans and Public Service Loan Forgiveness. More than $5 billion of the aid will go to 53,000 borrowers who've worked in public service for a decade or more; $2.8 billion of the forgiveness is for 51,000 borrowers enrolled in income-driven repayment plans; and another $1.2 billion of the cancellation will go to 22,000 borrowers with disabilities. The announcement is likely to help Biden as he runs for reelection, experts say.

BAKERSFIELD — Minutes before the vote that cost California‘s Rep. Kevin McCarthy his job as speaker of the House, three Republican voters lunching in his hometown cursed the scorched-earth politics in Washington. The conservative women said McCarthy had been left with two bad choices in the days before his ouster: Risk a revolt from the hard right and cut a deal with Democrats to pass a funding bill, or acquiesce to the hard-liners and shut down the federal government, wrecking the economy. Ultimately, they thought, McCarthy did the right thing — and paid the price on Tuesday. “He was damned if he did, damned if he didn’t,”

WASHINGTON — The stunning removal of Kevin McCarthy as speaker left the House effectively paralyzed Wednesday as Republicans struggled to bring order to their fractured majority and begin the difficult and potentially prolonged process of uniting around a new leader. The House opened briefly then went into recess, with North Carolina Rep. Patrick McHenry, the caretaker speaker pro-tempore, serving in the job with very little power for the foreseeable future. Other Republicans left Washington, awaiting the next steps. The House will try to elect a speaker as soon as next week. The timing is nowhere near certain as Republicans line up for their chance at the gavel amid the bitter divisions

Looks like another federal court doesn’t support the idea that Homeland Security’s writ includes America’s “cognitive infrastructure.” In a unanimous ruling yesterday, the Fifth Circuit expanded bars on the Biden administration’s Big Brother censorship activities, blocking the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) from any speech-policing communication with private-sector media platforms. This comes from a further review of Missouri v Biden, which the Supreme Court will also take up in an ill-advised appeal by the administration to an earlier ruling: The CISA, described as the “nerve center” of federal government censorship, is responsible for censoring the American public, facilitating collusion between the feds and social media companies

Normally in litigation like this, all sorts of information about the defendant’s business practices would come out.

Americans should expect a blaring phone alert Wednesday at 2:20 p.m ET. That's when the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will send notifications to phones in a nationwide emergency alert system test. Being that the alert is just a test, there's no cause for panic. It'll be conducted to ensure the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) are operational in the event of a national crisis, while also familiarizing the public with the notifications. Those in larger metropolitan areas may have received similar-looking Amber Alerts from this system before. People cannot opt out of the nationwide alert, as even phones set to silent
