Eight Republican representatives, led by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), on Tuesday successfully carried a motion to vacate, meaning Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is no longer speaker of the House. Several of the representatives have spoken out to explain why they ousted McCarthy.
There was a running theme in the comments criticizing McCarthy, who cut deals on spending with Democrats despite the fact that America cannot afford continued high spending, for his financial irresponsibility.

Oaths matter. Promises matter. Just ask God.

If a Republican speaker lies to his members, fails to keep promises to them, makes secret deals with the opposition, then works with them to pass bills and fund policies harming Americans whose speaker is he? Should he/she keep the job and continue to lie, break promises and make secret deals, unopposed?
Haven't we been lied to, cheated and stolen from enough? We are not deceived except by our own consent. Isn't it time we finally drew the line? A few brave souls in Congress have emerged who appear to be willing to say "enough!", stand in the gap and fight for what they believe is right. They (and all who are on the front lines of integrity and truth in this nation and around the world) need our prayers and our support.
If you haven't read your Bible yet today, check out Ezekiel 22 for some rather uncomfortable parallels between ancient Israel and our nation. We need to repent and ask Almighty God to forgive us, cleanse our hearts and our land. We need His help more now than ever.

If removing McCarthy was such a good idea, why are the Democrats the ones with the biggest smiles? Just askin'.

When it looked like the republcans were likely to take over Congress in the 2022 mid-term election, many of those republican Congressmen held meetings in the Fall BEFORE the November election to shape a plan to make a difference to STOP "onimbus bills" and "continuing resolutions" where they became kitchen sink "deals" to pass massive spending for representatives to get their votes.
The conservative republicans had McCarthy agree to work their plan, and when it became to vote for Speaker, HELD HIS FEET TO THE FIRE to honor those agreed to plans, and he wanted to welsh on those who had created it. THIS is why there were over a dozen votes before he became Speaker and once in the role, he DID NOT honor those agreed to plans.
One of those plans had single issue items which would AVOID the continuation of CRs and omnibus spending plans.
Showboat Gaetz is being heralded as our Lord and Savior by some for doing this, but now that the car is no longer in motion, does he have any idea what comes next? Calling people who did not support removing McCarthy RINOs shows the hollow "victory" of this vote.
Many in this group want to vilify everyone who does not bend a knee to President Trump as if HE is the Lord come back, are playing a dangerous game.
Who among the republicans will be "good enough" to be allowed to be Speaker?
This may lead to unintended consequences of the creation of a "coalition" government sharing power of Chairmanships with demonrat socialist Marxists where republican plans get toperdoed by never coming out of various committees.....
Sic transit gloria mundi, Mr. Gaetz

Nancy Mace must be up for reelection. Wow!
MAGA does not worship Trump! Some want mercy and grace (or insanity) when it comes to traitors like McCarthy, but a bunch of whining, and destruction and ridicule for those who insist on honesty and integrity. We're the evil ones. . . Miss us with that; it makes no sense.

#4, We get it. You can spout Latin. Fact is, McCarthy still reneged. There was a strategy to deal with all the spending and horrific CR’s but HE caved. He blew up the plan, not Gaetz.

Sundance has a timeline, starting c 2009/2010 that lays out Republican “promises” that went unfulfilled. Despite majorities in both houses.
Gaetz MAY BE a showboat. There MAY NOT be a Plan B.
But chugging along on the same track toward the cliff hasn’t been helpful either.
In my mind, what we’re seeing is a DEEP Swamp, infested with Uniparty takers.

McCarthy was just smart enough to realize that when you have no leadership talent and no good ideas you can survive for a while by spending money because somebody always benefits from spending money. Unfortunately it's not the people who supply that money.

But, but... McCarthy was just getting ready to repeal ObamaCare!

Promises not kept? McCarthy's short tenure as Speaker was a microcosm of the entire Republican Party since 1989.

There is a reason why, in war: traitors are the first to be shot.
We are in a war for the survival of our republic. It is time to
politically shoot the traitors who undermine our efforts.
The founders had the courage to dump the tea into Boston Harbor. Lives, fortunes, sacred honor, and all that.
What are we made of?
SHUT IT DOWN!!!!!!!

Never should have been elected speaker, I saw vote a chart where he has voted with the democrats 46% of the time and Pelosi had voted with Republicans just 7%.
The republicans need a Right leaning version of Pelosi not a sheep in republican clothing.

I have a question for all of the McCarthy haters. If McCarthy was a traitor who compromised with Democrats so much, why did all of the Democrats vote to remove him? You would think that they would have wanted to keep him in place if he was helping them with their agenda. Truth is that there are many in the Republican Party who have this childish belief that you can get everything you want without working with the opposition even though Democrats control the Senate and the White House and Republicans have a margin of 5 in the House. This is delusional thinking. We are now screwed. Thanks for nothing Matt.

Sorry, but this smacks of weakness in their belief they will be the Majority party in 2024, thus, they seem to need to get every single issue they've been hoping for in the past 20 years done now as if it will be too late otherwise.
McCarthy had to do what he needed to do to get things done, and the Democrats knew it because there is a certain group who seem to like telegraphing all of their negotiation strategy in public which the Democrats use against the slim 5 vote Majority.
Nancy Pelosi had a very slim majority but they never expressed issues against her and held together realizing the long-game.

This makes the RINOs and the DC Uniparty Deep State criminal class very frowny.
To play a game of pool, first you have to shoot the "break"......I think that is about where this game is.

Poster #2, I would also add Deuteronomy 28 to your suggestion of Ezekiel 22 to read also. Both are timely in view of current situation.
