We’ve been cataloging how the left has taken to labeling every candidate it doesn’t like and every policy it opposes a “threat to democracy.” But even we were surprised to see the U.S. Constitution itself added to the list of these threats.
MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell said over the weekend that: “The Constitution has some profoundly anti-democratic, which is to say anti-democracy components, like the Electoral College and the two senators per state, for example.”
Mind you, this aired on Sept. 15, just two days before Constitution Day, which this year marked the 236th anniversary of its signing.

The people who speak of saving Democracy are the ones trying to destroy the Republic.

Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what’s for lunch. It never ends well for the minority.

They never say "Republic." It's always "muh democracy" with these ignorant anti-Americans.

If you can’t win the game, change the rules. That’s how Biden “won”!

In their minds, the biggest threat to their idea of a Democracy is anything that impedes their quest for a national, regional, and eventual global one party rule. We have a constitutional Republic that provides equal rights and protections to each citizen. There are no real protections for the minority in a true Democracy.

Is respect for minorities anti-democratic? Because that is the point of the electoral college, to slightly enhance the voice of smaller sectors. Not to guarantee they alway win, just amp it up some. As everyone here knows.

I can't tell if these people are just complete imbeciles and truly have no idea what kind of hell on earth they are asking for or if they are just so full of hate and resentment they knowingly want to drag everyone to the lowest common denominator just so they can feel better about themselves?

Leftists should remember the French Revolution. It didn’t end well for the aristocracy and it was no picnic for the peasants, either.

The entire point of the US Constitution is to restrict, limit and contain the evil that is government. The Bill of Rights was an afterthought, written after months of writing the main document. Someone realized that they had written and nice set of rules on what the government could and could not do, but had written nothing about the specific rights of The People.
So, the Bill of Rights was written, as the first ten amendments....additions to the Constitution.
So, the INTENT of Constitution was to limit the evil crazies....and they are feeling limited and they hate it.

I would like to see the Electoral College votes be allocated to the winner in each House district.
Remove the winner-take-all provision which essentially disenfranchises those who didn't vote for X candidate, right?
Even New York has 11 Republicans in the House, but all of those districts end up losing their votes to the Democrat candidate.
And, allow for each Senator to vote as they desire, which is likely along partisan lines.

The word "democracy" is not found in The Constitution of the United States, The Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence. etc. Why? Because democracy is a horrible form of government. It's two wolves and a sheep deciding on what to have for lunch. It is the majority violating the rights of the minorities.

"The Founders knew that a democracy would lead to some kind of tyranny. The term democracy appears in none of our Founding documents. Their vision for us was a Republic and limited government."

Democracy is mob rule. All it takes is for one party to convince enough low information voters that is what we aspire to in this country to create complete chaos. Minorities will go unrepresented by design. Only the bullies will have a voice and that is just the way democrats like it.

If people dislike the makeup of this country they may freely leave and join a country they feel more aligned with. They keep trying to change American values to those that fit their whims loosing the beauty of the original focus. Too white, too black too Chinese, too native, loosing the focus, we are all Americans yearning for freedom, not government rule.

One motto I keep hearing is 'Tear it down'. That includes the constitution. All that 'change' a certain President talked about. We saw a couple weeks ago that the New Mexico Governor is on board. We keep hearing things on almost a daily basis. They mean it folks.

WE know their game...they came out of hiding with the rules obama has set in place for the goofy biden administration....he's running the country into the ground because he doesn't like America...his self loathing is surfacing with each edict...and crooked Joe just goes along for the ride so he can have all the perks....it's so obvious...obama is a danger for this country...and it's becoming more apparent with each new deal he strikes....

Lawrence O'Donnell is a self declared socialist. He is not interested in democracy. His goal is socialism and the path is always communism.
