Why Won’t Republicans Move On From Trump?

Original Article

Posted By: Moritz55, 5/27/2023 11:26:59 AM

What some mainstream conservatives and pundits aren’t considering, given our bleak 2024 electoral landscape (unresolved DNC-sponsored mass mail-in voting; an open border with millions of people streaming across it; an administrative state and media complex actively colluding and working against the people) is that Trump’s era was, and probably is, the last time flyover country will ever see executive representation in Washington again. Looking ahead to 2024, we should ask, Have the voters in that overlooked region—so breezily dismissed time and time again—changed in any marked way? Are they ready to move on? If anything, they’ve become even more alienated and disgusted by the Washington establishment than they were in 2016.

Comments:

The title is misleading. A more accurate version would be “Why Republicans Won’t Move On From Trump.”

Trump has a proven record. He’s not beholden to donors. Yes, he’s gruff. So was Patton, but he got the job done to.

Watch the original "Rocky" and you will understand the fundamental reason Americans will never give up on an underdog. The harder they beat him down and try to crush him, the more determined American patriots are to ultimately prevail. It's part of our DNA. Trump is just the latest example of this deeply felt mythology in the American collective memory.

At first read, I thought the title was tantamount to "Get over it; Trump's yesterday's news." But not the meaning; it is an explanation of why Trump is still The Path through the Establishment Wilderness. I think Trump intellectually understands that the work a day people have built this country and that Trump really loves - or at least YUGELY appreciates - them for that. For Rhinos and Dims, working people are just a quantity to be manipulated for their own purposes which they piously claim to be The Greater Good. But it ain't.

Durham confirmed what we already knew. The Deep State interfered with our electoral process using information it knew to be false. It then used that same false information to hamstring an elected President's agenda. Using several millions of dollars of taxpayer funds to do so. It then went on to cover for the corrupt influence-peddling schemes of the Bidens, so as to influence the 2020 election. That is sedition. Yet NONE of these people will ever get the prison sentences they deserve. The ONLY justice we can achieve is for Trump to get the 4 years more that were obviously his. Anything less than that, anything that reeks of "moving on", signals to the Deep State that they won. And against that atrocity, I'm supposed to give a damn that DeSantis tepidly supports the notion of a flat tax?

Trump is the only person that will reverse communism, and has brought the corruption to the surface, and exposed their names. Trump has been the victim of every dirty trick to ruin his presidency, but is still standing, which no other Republican could withstand. The 2020 election was stolen. The culprits have not been brought to justice. I will never move on from capitalism and liberty. I will vote for Trump.

Why won't conservative Republicans move on from Trump? What conservative Republicans? Where? I haven't seen any evidence that conservative Republicans even exist. Trump/MAGA and America 1st has spent 9 years looking for them and we just can't find any evidence they exist! It really is a shame that conservative Republicans only exist in the mythologies of pundits and corporate merchandise. Only Trump actually tried hard to build the wall, against MASSIVE opposition by a huge portion of "Republicans". Only Trump actually tries to FIX the trade problems with China, with tariffs - the CORRECT answer.

Americans still like electing their own president, and they understand corrupt Democrats, bureaucrats and the MSM are not their friends. They watched corrupt insiders frame an effective, pro-American president with their made up Russia HOAX, and Trump supporters are unwilling to pretend patriotic Americans had anything to do with "electing" a senile old goat to take his place. Biden was corrupt a VP. The power of the office, and the bureaucrats who appointed themselves his guardians (to benefit themselves) are the only reason he remains in office

The Los Angeles Dodgers have faced immense backlash for the decision to honor the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence before the team’s Pride Night game on June 16. Their star pitcher is not on board with the decision. Clayton Kershaw, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, announced last Friday that the team will be relaunching its Christian Faith and Family Day. The veteran pitcher said it was in response to the organization's decision to honor the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

Older Americans are increasingly ‘unretiring’ to deal with elevated prices and rocky financial positions. Unfortunately, financial insecurity from inflation may be here to stay. Rising costs have turned grocery staples like eggs into luxuries for many people on a fixed budget. Prices seemed to be coming down, but recent data signal that the end of elevated inflation remains elusive. The consumer price index (CPI) rose 4.9% in April from a year prior. This is below the generational high of 9.1% in June 2022. However, overall CPI was flat from March after months of slowing price increases.

A silence kept in order to hide the truth is a lie. By that maxim, there are plenty of liars among prominent Democrats who knew that the damning Trump-Russia collusion narrative was all a hoax. But they chose to remain mum, preferring instead to watch contentedly as an American president was vilified nonstop by a media-driven orgy of lies. It consumed the nation for years and inflicted untold harm. None of them had the decency to volunteer the truth. This is one of the key findings in the 306-page Durham report that the special counsel filled to the brim with documented acts of deviousness, dishonesty and malice by high officials

Maduro, who is seen as a controversial leader internationally, met Lula on his visit to Brazil. Maduro was greeted by Lula with a hug and back-slap in the presidential palace of Brasilia. The Venezuelan leader was invited by Lula to attend a South American leaders' summit that will be held on Tuesday to discuss the revival of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR). Lula criticized the US for denying legitimacy to Maduro's socialist government, which is viewed by Washington as authoritarian for alleged human rights violations.

Citing "systemic racism," Joy Behar of "The View" said that Scott "doesn’t get it. Neither does Clarence [Thomas], and that’s why they’re Republicans."

The agreement reached Saturday night between Speaker Kevin McCarthy and President Joe Biden is an historic first step toward shifting government back toward common sense and conservatism. It is a step toward creating a smaller government, lower taxes, less regulation, economic growth, prosperity, and more take home pay. All of this will also strengthen Social Security and Medicare. I emphasize it’s a first step because that is what I lived through in 1995 in our first year as a Republican House majority (the first in 40 years). Step by step, we got budget changes, moved from welfare to work, cut taxes, and reduced bureaucratic regulatory overkill.

If the shocking 2016 presidential election of Donald J. Trump taught us anything, it should be that voters can still be unpredictable and unpollable, and that millions of them believe that the entrenched elites from both political parties no longer hear their voices or speak for them. Voters are continually seeking a new champion. Will Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. become such a champion? I believe so — at least as far as the Democratic primary process is concerned. When that process is final and all the votes from the primaries and caucuses have been tabulated, I believe Kennedy will emerge as the Democratic nominee for president in 2024.

The idea that polluters should pay reparations for climate change is gaining steam among advocates. Some environmentalists and academics argue the companies or states that are most significantly contributing to the climate crisis should be made to compensate the people bearing the brunt of its impacts. Advocates have been calling for such reparations for years, especially since evidence emerged that fossil fuel companies were aware of the impact of carbon emissions. But the idea is now more practically achievable due to scientific advances, said Adrien Salazar, policy director at the nonprofit Grassroots Global Justice. He pointed to the increased sophistication

The "baggage" is Trump's confrontational style, his "mean" social media posts, and the myriad "scandals" during his administration.
