Answering the Big Question: Ron or Don?

Original Article

A very dear friend and a former Heritage Foundation associate responded to my last column on American Thinker with the following: Happy to tell you in a private email why the GOP needs to dump Trump (for whom I voted twice), but it requires too many bad words that would cause my dear late mother to go for the soap for use in a public forum. For starters, let's just say he's a thin-skinned, immature, undisciplined **shole who is ignorant by choice, erratic in his behavior, and disloyal. And those are some of his better points. Do I hate him? No. But I hate his type.

Don. Every time someone prefaces their remarks with "I voted for him twice", I know I'm not talking to a serious person.

Thats an easy one. Don is number one and Desantis if he is as smart as he thinks he is needs to check his ego and worry about Florida and consider running in 2028 instead of now.

Thank you, Alicia Colon! For the very same reasons and more Donald John Trump has my vote. Clearly, you can see that DeSaintis is being supported by all the wrong people. Come at me with a Rino backed puppet and regardless who it is, I’m out. If Trump had been mediocre, my decision would be more flexible, but he was an outstanding POTUS. Give him a term wherein the Rinos won’t go behind his back to sabotage him, and he will get ‘er done! He can handle the democrats but what he cannot be expected to do is fight a war on two fronts especially when one is supposed to be on his side. I cannot or will not apologize for his bombastic personality but I will defend his outstanding skills as a leader who has the singular focus of making this country great again. If you cannot set aside his personality and see that he is the guy for the job when he has had such excellent results especially during everything that has been thrown at him, I honestly don’t know what to say other than ask yourself why is everyone whose agenda is anti-American or is in the race for themselves knowing Trump’s undisputed successes are so desperately against him? Could it be that Trump actually is the “change we have been waiting for” that for once goes against the globalist agenda and is all in for America first? Trump 2024!

Seven frauds all with a common source are being thrust down Americans' throats - - Russia Collusion - Climate Change - CRT/ Systemic Racism - Transgenderism - Covid - Vaccine, Lockdowns -- 81 million 'legal; votes for Biden - J6 ALL have a common source and purpose - to systematically destroy our prosperity and liberty. If you attack them separately you will be trapped in a unwinnable game of whack-a-mole. That is the intention. The common root has to be eradicated. Otherwise this country is finished. In the short term We the People have only one realistic, plausible weapon. Donald Trump and his campaign for President in2024. All talk about his shortcomings, vices, Tweets, not being above the law are ALL red herrings. For us he is a matter survival.

I just posted this response on an article above: #7, it goes beyond Joe Biden. As soon as people are able to get God out of every aspect of society, it will all continue. Let me explain. From Galatians in the Bible: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control”. It is the last fruit I am talking about - self-control. This has been happening for a long, long time. Self-control goes out the window when no relationship exists with God and we are seeing that more and more as God is taken out of society. Yes, we have a party base, the Democrats, actively pursuing it and, boy oh boy, Joe Biden is pushing it. But there are Republicans also who have no relationship with God, no self-control, and we are now seeing murky waters in government. I am tired of it all. You know why? We have a wonderful country that God gave us and because of politics, the people involved have no self-control with their behavior. So now I want to talk about self-control concerning Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis. I HOPE THEY PUT IT IN PRACTICE WITH EACH OTHER. . .

This choice between front runners (ALL others step aside) is going to finish OFF what is left of the Republican party as we know it. There wee those who thought NoBama could walk on water, and likewise there are those who believe Mr. Trump does too, and it's sickening! So many are fooled into allowing themselves to blindly worship a MAN as infallible. We have all seen how the media LIED ITS EYES OUT on fake stories purported to be FACT to ruin Mr. Trump from DAY ONE. Other than President Reagan, no politician who won the Republican nomination has ever been treated so bad. Mr. Newt even carried books to press gatherings showing reliable sources and footnotes because the "Press" would not report facts as Truth. The media massages their 'message' to the point that they NOW have almost ZERO credibility, and with the push for business to put everyone on a leash with ESG scoring, and they try to pick the winners and losers in life. They RUIN any opposition to THE AGENDA which is against the average person to create a "resistance is futile" Borg-like "collective" mentality. Time to unplug and regain your sense of discernment! Principle over Party. The RINOcrat party has made its bed, and no matter if President TRUMP is the nominee or Governor DeSantis wins the nomination, MEDIA in all its forms will treat neither person with fairness and will pit each one against another so let this campaign be about the unique qualities of AMERICANISM for championing the individual against BIG Government control in our daily lives and AGAINST further socialism ruining the promise of making it unless you are corrupt. Mr. Trump made mistakes just like everyone does because he is human. His biggest mistake was not realizing the the pit of vipers entrenched in public service surrounding him who were out to get him from day one. The fear by which the other side rules has been very effective to the point they have to cheat to win. They have gotten away with it by not hearing evidence and when it IS provided, they scoff and deny and refuse to hear it....if we cannot overcome this, we are doomed. Maricopa County and election integrity issues being proven means nothing if evidence and ACTION are not undertaken. Even when you "GOT THEM" they still managed to get away with it and skate regardless. Pray hard for future generations Please do not use all caps to shout. See Staff note up the thread. Staff

Trump has always been Trump. They voted for him twice knowing exactly who he is. Did they vote for him in the primaries? Not a chance. But they checked his box in the election because they weren't going to vote for the Marxist. They voted against the Marxist twice not for Trump. And when he is our candidate in 24 they will do the same as before.

I've been going back and forth on this. Trump had the most consequential term in I don't know how many years. He did what he said he would do. He is indefatigable--I am the same age and I don't have a tenth of his energy and drive. I like DeSantis. Like Trump, he is not afraid to take anybody on. He is more disciplined than Trump. The thing that worries me about DJT is the enmity so many people have for him. It is so deep-seated and widespread, I think, that hiis chances of winning in the general are reduced. The Left is already hard at work demonizing DeSantis but they'll never succeed to the extent they have with Trump. Having said all this, I think Alicia makes a powerful argument for Trump, so powerful that I will stick with him.

It’s been my experience that those who hate Trump the most, on either side, are those who are most like him. I suppose they see a part of themselves in him and hate him for being the mirror. This was a good tidbit, FTA: “Please do not ever compare Mario Cuomo to Ron DeSantis as a better governor. He was my governor and he was awful. He’s responsible for causing the deaths of thousands of seniors when he ordered Covid victims admitted to their nursing homes. Tone down the insults to any rival because it seems that voters have lost the gift of critical thinking and are more impressed with gentle speech spouted by demented souls.”

#20. Welcome Back. I'd love it if we got 4 more years of President Trump. Problem is electability. Yes, the 2020 election was stolen. But there were lots of people who didn't vote for Quid Pro Joe; they voted against PT. They are still there. The 2022 election was predicted as a Red Tsunami. It was a trickle. Why? Fraud? Yes, some. But loads of college students voted for the dims because of abortion and student loan "forgiveness." What I want is almost any kind of change. Almost anything would be an improvement over the retarded ape in the White House. If I make it to Nov 2024 I'll vote for whoever is the GOP nominee.

Don is a known quantity. The best president in my time, and that includes Reagan. I remember the slogan posted on his campaign office wall in 2016: HE FIGHTS. I remember another slogan: LET TRUMP BE TRUMP. His daughter Ivanka once described him as “blunt”. My dictionary says that is “uncompromisingly straightforwsrd”. Can you say that about any other candidate? With Don, what you see is what you get - and what our country saw was very good. We would be fools to vote for anyone else.

GOD already answered the question. It is Donald John Trump and you already got your vote back in the year 2020. There will not be a Presidential election in 2024. The Donald will be declared the winner from the 2020 election and whoever is left alive from the democrat party will just have to hate what they did in 2020. Just reading the comments after the article, it seems like more are concerned about Trump being able to win next year, mainly because he still talks about the stolen election and going after DeSantis instead of talking about the great things he accomplished in his four years. We need more voters, not fewer and where are they? I only know our country cannot stand having Biden, Kamala, or Newsom be in the White House. With their all mail in votes, harvesting, and other tricks, I feel certain Trump will lose my state again, but probably any of our candidates will.

There was no way in the deepest hottest pits of Hell was I going to vote for Hillary Clinton. It came down who I thought from the beginning who could take on and defeat the PIAPS. That person was Donald John Trump. In spite of the forces of evil reigned against him from day ONE he got the job done for We the People. Those forces not only went after him with a viciousness that I've never seen before in American politics (been studying that since 1988). They attacked everyone in his administration down to the WH mailroom clerk and his family. Including his then young son who several democrats wished death one. He got it worse that the Bush Twins. If that wasn't enough, he was impeached twice for NOTHING! The kicker was the 2020 election theft in broad nightlight. Theft that was so preposterous we now have democrats and RINOs and their but sniiffers in the media telling us that it's the big lie to say otherwise. I saw what I saw and no amount to lying from known liars will ever change that. There is NO question in my mind who I'll vote for next year for the 3rd time and that's President Donald John Trump-PDJT. MAGA, FJB, LET'S GO BRANDON!

Staff at a Soho art gallery representing Hunter Biden’s paintings called police Thursday to investigate a possible computer hack of its financial records, The Post has learned. A source close to the Georges Berges Gallery, which has mounted shows of President Biden’s son’s art since 2021, said staff members fear that financial transactions have been hacked, after a client alerted them to a phony invoice requesting payment to an account not controlled by dealer Georges Berges. The possible hack comes days after staff discovered that the gallery’s phone number had been “compromised” by a number that had been traced to Turkey, the source told The Post.

Epstein’s unopened letter to Nassar, who spent decades sexually abusing young girls, was discovered in the mail room of the since-shuttered lockup with a “return to sender” notice weeks after his suicide

Thanks to a misreading of the Constitution, America is becoming more and more of a secular wasteland. All sorts of ideas and ideologies are allowed in the public square. But not Christian ones. That exclusion does not comport with what the founders of America intended.I thank God for people like Kirk Cameron, the actor and children’s author, who often presents a library presentation helping children learn about God, instead of promoting things like “drag queen story hour.” It’s become a cliché to say that it is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. But Cameron is indeed lighting many candles in the darkness.

Conservatives and traditionalists are often exasperated at the ongoing woke cultural revolution in their midst. How can America be turned upside down, as it is, when there is little public support for the things happening around us? They don't see much backing for the current border policy and illegal immigration, yet it continues. Conservatives feel that most Americans reject the trend of biological men dominating female sporting events. They fear American jurisprudence has become now vastly weaponized and warped. Certainly, former President Donald Trump will be more likely indicted by a politicized New York City prosecutor

Most of the country and its institutions are against conservatives — the administrative state and federal bureaucracy, mainstream media, Hollywood, the music industry, sports leagues, higher education, labor unions…the list goes on and on.Every now and then, however, conservatives find themselves driving change in a way that the world can’t ignore. Left-wing nutballs have had the upper hand in America's culture wars for a long time. They are hyperaggressive and focused on pushing America in a radical direction. They push their agenda on school boards, in local and national political venues, and on many corporations. To date, resistance has been isolated to a small number of dedicated conservative activists. Most Americans just want to get along whenever possible, not fight about sensitive social issues if they can help it and, most of all, not be mean to people. That's a laudable attitude in general, but when up against radical, ideologically driven opponents, oftentimes you have to push back. If you don't,

Texas congressman Ronny Jackson has claimed he is 'not fit mentally or physically' to lead the country and 'it's a bad situation for us'. The now-Republican politician slammed White House officials for allowing Biden, 80, to run for a second term and said those close to him like his wife Jill should be stopping him.

California appears to be presenting the green movement with yet another reality check. Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom has set forth arguably the country's most ambitious state-level plan to transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy. However, when California's almost inevitable heat waves come in the summer and residents crank up their home air conditioners, officials turn on massive diesel-powered generators to make up for the state’s energy shortfall and to avoid rolling blackouts.

The New York Times faces criticism after publishing an article attempting to paint President Joe Biden as a young, vibrant man who never embarrasses himself or the country. Titled "Inside the Complicated Reality of Being America's Oldest President," reporters Peter Baker, Michael Shear, Katie Rogers, and Zolan Kanno-Youngs fawned over Biden's achievements, describing him as a "fit, sharp" 80-year-old who has "striking stamina." "The two Joe Bidens coexist in the same octogenarian president: Sharp and wise at critical moments,
Is Arming Teachers Practical? 18 replies

The most obvious response to school shootings is to allow teachers and other employees who are licensed to carry firearms to do so. Would-be mass murderers are drawn to schools largely because they are usually “gun-free zones,” which means the shooter’s gun will be the only one on the scene. But some have questioned whether many teachers would actually be willing to arm themselves, so as to make this a practical solution. The Rand Corporation conducted a nationwide survey of nearly 1,000 teachers, which is reported on by Catrin Wigfall. Most teachers are liberals these days–no surprise, given the far-left orientation of universities’ education programs and the teachers’ unions.

You may have heard recently that most adults—80%—are not getting boosted with mRNA injections. The CDC is recommending that everyone get shot up, while admitting that duration of supposed “effectiveness” isn’t great: Most US adults are declining COVID boosters as CDC warns of health risks: 'Relatively little protection' Hospitalization risk exists as only 20% of US adults receive booster dose: ‘Uptake has been quite low’ The claim, as usual, is that these injections offer protection against the most severe outcomes. Interestingly, the CDC conducted a self-experiment—unintentionally. I’m guessing they didn’t expect this outcome:

A Delta flight heading to Detroit, Michigan was forced to make an emergency landing on a remote Canadian island after an unruly passenger broke free of his restraints. The 34-year-old traveler was allegedly being 'violent' on the flight and 'wouldn't calm down' on the trip from Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris, France. He was restrained by airline staff but managed to break free before five to six passengers jumped in to restrain him again. The captain took an emergency diversion six hours into the flight and landed at Stephenville Dymond Airport on the Canadian island of Newfoundland at around 3.35pm. The man was then arrested by the Royal Mounted Police
Sex Change Operations Do No Good 14 replies

The “trans” lobby claims that genital mutilation of minors is necessary in order to prevent troubled teenagers from committing suicide. To my knowledge, there is no empirical basis for this claim, and suicide rates among those who have undergone sex change surgery are sky-high. But the claim persists, nevertheless. Now, it turns out that one of the key “studies” relied on to support sex change procedures has been withdrawn. (Snip) Integrity in published research has been on a downhill slide for some time. It started in the social sciences, and has now spread to the hard sciences. The basic idea of a research study is to be reproducible: someone else who

A small plane that flew over a restricted area of Washington DC likely prompted the Pentagon to scramble an interceptor fighter jet Sunday afternoon. The private Cessna jet from Elizabethton, Tennessee appeared unresponsive as it came close to both the US Capitol building and the White House at around 3.30pm, Federal Aviation Administration officials say. The aircraft was on its way to Long Island, New York, but once it reached its destination, it turned around and headed back to Washington DC, flight paths show. A source familiar with the situation told Reuters it appeared to be on autopilot at the time.

“Meet the Press” host and moderator Chuck Todd announced on Sunday that he will step down this year after nine years hosting the public affairs talk show. Kristen Welker, NBC News’ co-chief White House correspondent, will succeed him. “It’s been an amazing nearly decadelong run. I am really proud of what this team and I have built over the last decade,” Todd said during the broadcast Sunday. “I’ve loved so much of this job, helping to explain America to Washington and explain Washington to America.”
