At the heart of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s recent troubles is that he used his office to help a political donor — Austin real estate investor Nate Paul — in exchange for allegedly helping the attorney general remodel his home and giving Paxton’s mistress a job in his company. According to thedailybeast.com, “Paxton reportedly acknowledged the affair with the woman, who worked as an aide to a Texas state senator, to his staff in 2018 and said he had ended it.” Paul has denied that his hiring of the woman was as a favor to Paxton. Resignations of seven senior members of Paxton’s staff followed, accusing their boss

As the photo caption points out Paxton’s wife is state Senator Angela Paxton. She has a vote in the Senate trial. Texas dish served hot.

While not admirable behavior, don’t most politicians engage in this type of shenanigans? It seems pretty garden-variety sleazebaggery to me. If he were a democrat, he’d be lauded.

It is ok to hire a friend in the construction business to remodel your home. Paxton said he paid for it. It is also ok for a friend to hire a woman recommended by a friend. Also, ok for a person to help a friend, even if an AG. If that is a problem, why wasn't Senator Menendez removed from the Senate for going to the Medicare Office to prevent them from pursuing charges against his political sponsor for fraudulent Medicare and Medicaid claims. Senator Graham testified on behalf of Menendez as a character witness. A great guy, said Senator Graham. I can't help but notice that only Republicans are getting impeached, indicted, jailed, election thefts, recused, and resigning. An amazing phenomena, heretofore unknown to science or statistics.

Austin is nothing but a big mess of liberals and lawyers are generally quite liberal. These types of accusations against top Republicans have been made on pretty much of a continual basis. This is the county (Travis) that file criminal charges against a Texas congressman for activities that were made illegal in years after he did them. His (our) enemies saw an excuse that they could use for an opening to attack a conservative who has been fighting overreach by Feds, woke corporations, and helping to fight the southern invasion. He beat P Bush which is also an unforgiveable offense.
His wife being a state senator does make for an interesting scene though.

The mistress of a politician gets a well paying job for her services?
Isn't that what Kamala did?

We need the name of the woman, so we can recognize her when she becomes the AG and then VP. Wouldn't be Harris, would it? Or is this woman actually qualified for the job she got?

The Democrat drive to get Paxton started shortly after he was elected. The reports do not say when the affair started or ended. But that is a new angle of attack after the first one failed. The first one was over some paperwork that was not completely in order or filed properly; a state securities complaint was filed and the Dems tried to make it into a fraud case. That failed, but they caught Paxton in the affair and went after him. One thing that the Dems understand is extramarital affairs. This whole thing is part of the larger, overall scheme of George Soros to control DA's and Secretaries of States who control the elections. Note that once Texas moved to let the TX AG (Paxton) prosecute election fraud in the major dem strongholds like Austin and Houston, they managed to get Paxton impeached. And Paxton helped them along. Texans were lucky that the Dems did not manage to get the corrupt FBI to indict him just after he won won the last primary against George P Bush. Maybe the FBI corruption has not completely taken over the local field office. Since TX law would not allow someone indicted to be on the ballot and he probably could not be replaced, the Dem would have become the AG. And Houston would have been open for another big round of election fraud. That is the big picture. Abbott better careful about his appointment. I am rather hoping that Louie Gohmert becomes the temp AG. If that happens, I can see that the TX Senate might vote for impeachment.

Texas senate salary is $7900. Not 79 thousand, 79 hundred.
