After alienating "fratty" customers and hiring biological male Dylan Mulvaney to promote Bud Light, resulting in a $5 billion loss over the past few days, Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth is finally weighing in. "As the CEO of a company founded in America’s heartland more than 165 years ago, I am responsible for ensuring every consumer feels proud of the beer we brew, We’re honored to be part of the fabric of this country. Had the opportunity to right the ship but instead spews a bunch of political motherhood. Can't say that I'm proud of the beer they brew but then, I'm not a consumer of it, either. And have any of the other individuals whom AB claims to have honored with their faces on a limited number of cans ever been made public? Why are we only now hearing about this program?

They're probably hoping it will all blow over. It might, but it might not. All beer tastes the same to me (awful), so I'm no judge of how unique the taste of Bud Light is. Whoever decided that an over-the-top-sissy man in a dress is a good representative for a beer brand is a moron. Just what audience were they aiming at?

Re #7, I heartily agree with your opinion on beers. When I was hitchhiking around Europe in the 70s, I had a lot of different folks tell me "Well, THIS town has some REALLY great beer. I'll buy you one, you'll love it." I tried to politely decline, but it never worked no matter how much I told them that I had tried a lot of different beers and didn't like any of them. So, I've tasted a LOT of "the very best German and French beers". One or two sips, done. All are awful, as far as I am concerned. I never try to press my views about beer on anyone else, though. If people likeit, fine with me. My wife agrees, and she regrets not being able to boycott A-B. Me, too.

You are proud of a LIGHT beer and love all of your loyal employees. Why did you make them the object of a huge joke that lost you billions of dollars and made them ashamed to show their faces in public? Light beers are made up of so little substance and so much water that they all taste the same. It barely gives your kidneys anything to do before your body ejects it.

As a sometime beer drinker, I can truthfully say, 'Bud Lite' is not beer. Light beer is not really beer. I agree with Poster #19, light beer is flavored water, overpriced flavored water at that. I haven't tasted a bud lite in 20 years or better and a 'girly-man' on the can is no incentive to go back. I hope the distributors that are going to feel the pinch, have some real product to fall back on, but the loss of the parent company is fine with me.

Mr. Whitworth--you neither understand nor appreciate the dynamic here. As Cheating Joe said on 10/30/20, "We have the best ballot fraud organization ever. I won't need your vote on Tuesday, but I will need your vote afterwards." In other words, Conservatives in Dem-targeted states are shut out of the election process. Big tech has censored us, so we are shut out of the tech conversation as well. What we are very good at, what we do with great relish, is boycott woke companies. Haven't you noticed what's happening to Disney? To Nike? To Bed, Bath, and Beyond? These companies have cratered in value because Conservatives no longer buy their products. It's happening right before your very eyes to A-B as well.

In advertising there is an adage that there is no such thing as bad publicity. AB may have an ad campaign planned that allowed for the negative reaction they got to Mulvaney and have Part 2 of their strategy waiting to be implemented. If so, there will be no apology but “heartland”, “military”, “heritage” and the rest of the focus group approved words and talking points will abound. What I’d like to know is what thought process and outside pressure led to embracing such perversion. Finally, the bit about being in the business of bringing people together is knee-slapper grade hogwash. They are in the business of selling alcoholic beverages whether to Clem sitting on his porch with just his hound dog or to Mike having a cold one as he mows his lawn wearing his sound cancelling head phones or to Adam downing a shot of Jack after a terrible day at work. They aren’t in the business of world peace.
