Cash App creator Bob Lee moved out of San Francisco because he thought the city was "deteriorating" shortly before he was fatally stabbed, a friend told NewsNation on Wednesday. Jake Shields, a former mixed martial arts fighter, told the outlet that he used to live in the area Lee was attacked in but ended up moving away because he didn't feel safe there anymore. "[Lee] did comment on San Francisco deteriorating, which is why he actually had just relocated to Miami," Shields told the outlet. 'That wasn't the only reason but was a reason," Shields told Insider. "I can't remember

Comments:

He moved his family to (gasp) Florida to get away from San Fran. Too bad he made a trip back - it cost him his life.

People keep saying Rincon is the "Nice part of town", but local residents had already hired a private security force to "augment" the feeble SFPD coverage. This story sets up the question...Since he had sold his own home last Year. Where was he coming from, where was he going?

San Francisco's former fire commissioner was brutally attacked this week after a "group of homeless people" slashed him with a knife and fractured his skull with a pipe in his own front yard, according to a family friend. The attack on Don Carmignani happened just outside his home in the city's Marina District, his friend and prominent Bay Area lawyer Joe Alioto Veronese revealed on Twitter. A judge canceled the air quality permit for a natural gas power plant that’s under construction along the Yellowstone River in Montana citing worries over climate change. Liberal Chicago mayor-elect Brandon Johnson put the blame on violence and poverty in the Windy City on big corporations. "We have large corporations. Seventy percent of large corporations in the city of Chicago — in the state of Illinois, did not pay a corporate tax," Johnson said during a Thursday appearance on CBS Mornings. He argued that low investment in Chicago has led to poverty, which in turn caused violence. "Seventy percent of large corporations in the state of Illinois did not pay a corporate tax. In particular, Biden took credit for investing in new, clean energy projects and "bringing the supply chain back to America" through the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act and the CHIPS and Science Act, and his remarks closely resembled speeches the president has recently delivered in Maryland, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. When the United States government makes considerable resources available for new industries, what does that do to businesses?" Biden asked Monday.

The law that redefined death in 1981, referred to as the Uniform Determination of Death Act (UDDA), is being revised. The UDDA states that death by neurologic criteria must consist of "irreversible cessation of all functions of the entire brain, including the brainstem." However, in actual practice, doctors examine only the brainstem. The result is that people are being declared dead even though some still have detectable brainwaves, and others still have a part of the brain that functions, the hypothalamus. Lawyers have caught on, pointing out in lawsuits that the whole brain standard was not met for their clients.
