For NC Rep. Tricia Cotham, being a Democrat was a part of her identity from a young age. At 12, she was registering people to vote. As a child, she worked to get Harvey Gantt elected Charlotte mayor. She was the only Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools student to ride in Bill Clinton’s motorcade during an early ‘90s visit because of her voter registration advocacy. She was former U.S. Sen. John Edwards’ first intern on Capitol Hill. Her mom, who serves in an at-large seat on the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners as a Democrat, fondly remembered those memories in an interview with

Comments:

Dems were mad that she included the American flag in messages. Other articles mention she was being excluded from meetings, scolded for mentioning her Christian faith and for not supporting gun-grabbing legislation.

Decades ago I registered as a Republican in what was a totally Democrat family. When asked about it, I responded that I only registered like you vote. I heard no more about it.

The Democratic Party no longer exists. It's currently unarguably undemocratic and openly fascist. Don't accept their self-characterization as democratic or progressive. "Democracy dies in the Democratic Party"

When I grew up in the 60s and 70s in my home county, it was solid Democrat. We had more candidates on a far-rigfht wing :"John Birch Society" party than Republicans on the ballot. Heck, one year my mon let me put up a sign for the Republican governor candidate (she despised the Democrat for some difficulties he had caused to her profession, otherwise she voted straight Democrat, well except for when one of her favorite doctors ran for the State Legislature, but lost). I thought our neighbor would come over with a torch and burn it down. Probably because the union jobs were pretty strong back then. Almost all those factory jobs are gone, and as I've said, the town is a place where young people have to leave town to get an education (college) and the first lesson you learn is not to come back. Anyway, I was in my hometown last weekend. More Republican and pro-Trump than a rally at Mar-a-Lago. Well, except for that neighbor. He's pretty solid Democrat yet.

There is no difference between today's democrat party and the Communist Party of the USA. Well, unless you count that the democrat party is more radical the today's CPUSA.

If only the GOP could message how today's Democrat Party is nothing like the one from just 10-20 years ago, much less, earlier than then. Most elected Democrats are Progressive Democrats which is the far-left side of the Democrat Party spectrum, in those previous generations. However, if you surveyed who people felt were in the Progressive wing, they'd likely find it upper-income, college educated and very WHITE. So, how so many African-American elected Democrats identify as Progressive would seem puzzling, as I doubt the average African-American sees themselves part of the Progressive (i.e. Radical) movement.

#2 is on the mark. The Dem Party has devolved into an anti-America (extreme anti-MAGA), anti-Constitution, criminal Party(as all hard Left parties are). Interesting that so many who are leaving the Dem/Left Party -even some on the “progressive” wing- are bringing classical liberal, and Constitutional ideals with them, in their wakeful (not woke) state of Mind… because they wanted the Truth, and more of it, once they recognized the lies and deceptions, and moral corruption of the Dem Party as it currently is. Rep. Cotham was a typical activist Party member ( Dem Party attracts activist temperaments). And interestingly, these people may be part of a revival of sorts of the radical, in a sense, original Republican Party, and save it from the morally defunct “check-pant Republicans” ( thank you for the imagery, Michael Savage!). Right now, the stump of the Dem Party wants to destroy our Republic, and stump of the Rep Party doesn’t care to save it. We’re in mortal danger.

This is the problem. So many people grew up in democrat households that they thoughtlessly keep voting democrat without thinking. These people enjoyed peace and prosperity during the Trump years and they don’t even realize it. They then actually vote against it at the next election. These are the 30% that always vote democrat, no matter how bad their policies are for them.

The Democrats have gone full-loony. Who would have thought that the party of FDR and JFK would devolve into the champions of men who want to become women? Or women who want the right to have an abortion up to the moment of birth? Our country's only hope is that things will go so far off the rails, that there will be a backlash. But I am not hopeful.

The Democratic Socialists of America have taken over the Democrat Party. For years the DSA proudly proclaimed on thier web site their strategy of running DSA members in Democrat primaries until they elected enough DSA members to reach critical mass and take control of the Democrat Party and "fundamentally transform" America into a socialist (read "totalitarian") state. They reached that critical mass some time ago. However, in their single-minded focus on getting their members elected they failed to notice that the system they emulated, Third Way China, had morphed into a tradidtional fascist state, with private ownership of production and uber wealthy Chinese oligarchs controlled by a totalitarian regime, and that the West had morphjed into a new Globalist Fascism, with procuction AND government both owned and controlled by multinational corporations. It's a new day, but the DSA socialists that own the Democrat Party still think they are paddling in a 1985 pond.

Dear #s 13 and 14, we all have loved ones who "have eyes, but cannot see," and some suffer family splits. This has always been part of the human condition. Even during our Revolution, as i am sure you know. #11, what worries us is when the implosion occurs, who will remain to pick up the pieces? in socialist/commie States, a mere hunk, a morass of oligarchs, gorging on whatever remains of wealth or capital assets. I am struggling against fatalism because too many in our Senate are ready to sell out to the NWO cabal, the old fascist/NAZI/communist world order of brutal oppression. Demons from hell.
