Helinka was of the generation that knew drag shows were raunchy vaudeville for adults. He was not part of the drag queen story hour crowd. State Senator Scott Weiner, who proclaimed Helinka as the soul of San Francisco, is an appalling creature who will probably replace Nancy Pelosi in 2024.

I have never been to a Drag Show but I have seen a couple of the TV shows where a bunch of them help awkward women do their hair and make-up. They seemed like a fun bunch and it was evident that they were acting. They all were Gay but none of them claimed to be "Trans" just female impersonators. They did great make-up and hair and helped the women look great at their wedding, etc. There was nothing sexual about it. I just considered it adult entertainment. Again, I've never heard of Heklina but it seems that she was part of the traditional old school Drag performers like "Divine" who was in the John Water's movies. Not sexy but flamboyant. Those shows have a following with certain people but it seemed like there was never a question that they were for adults. Why can't anyone be honest anymore? No one is attacking Drag, they are objecting to the involvement of children. Two separate things. If all this is nothing but "good clean fun" then bring on the "Stripper Story Hour" with genuine female body parts. Would that be okay with all the Mom's with their kids at Sunday Brunch? Why not? What is the difference between men acting as women or real women gyrating before the kids? Perhaps giving kids a glimpse of homosexuality / behavior at a young age is the point and using real women wouldn't do that?

President Joe Biden traveled to the Cummins alternative power manufacturing center in Fridley, Minnesota, on Monday, the latest stop on the soft rollout of the president's 2024 reelection campaign. In particular, Biden took credit for investing in new, clean energy projects and "bringing the supply chain back to America" through the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act and the CHIPS and Science Act, and his remarks closely resembled speeches the president has recently delivered in Maryland, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. When the United States government makes considerable resources available for new industries, what does that do to businesses?" Biden asked Monday.

Oil prices soared nearly 6% on Monday after Saudi Arabia and other major oil producers said they will cut production by 1.15 million barrels per day from May until the end of the year. The cuts in oil output by the so-called OPEC+ countries immediately pushed crude costs higher and were expected to boost gas prices in the U.S. and other countries. Higher oil prices also will complicate the efforts by central banks to rein in inflation. "This will create both political waves across Europe and even higher general inflation in the USA, leading to renewed pressure on the Federal

The Biden administration is preparing to implement a sweeping nationwide ban on commonly used light bulbs as part of its energy efficiency and climate agenda. The regulations, which prohibit retailers from selling incandescent light bulbs, were finalized by the Department of Energy (DOE) in April 2022 and are slated to go into effect on Aug. 1, 2023. The DOE will begin full enforcement of the ban on that date, but it has already urged retailers to begin transitioning away from the light bulb type and, in recent months, begun issuing warning notices to companies. My introduction to San Francisco came in the late 1970s, when I spent a lot of time there as a young lawyer. For a Midwestern guy, the San Francisco of that era was a revelation: great restaurants, famous hotels on Nob Hill, fog drifting in off the Bay. But today’s San Francisco is, sadly, something else. The San Francisco Chronicle has a long, long article about the city’s demise: “Downtown S.F. on the brink: It’s worse than it looks.” And it looks really bad. The numbers are grim: "Don’t be fooled. The downtown area, the city’s primary economic driver, is teetering on the edge, facing challenges greater than
