The Biden administration is preparing to implement a sweeping nationwide ban on commonly used light bulbs as part of its energy efficiency and climate agenda. The regulations, which prohibit retailers from selling incandescent light bulbs, were finalized by the Department of Energy (DOE) in April 2022 and are slated to go into effect on Aug. 1, 2023. The DOE will begin full enforcement of the ban on that date, but it has already urged retailers to begin transitioning away from the light bulb type and, in recent months, begun issuing warning notices to companies. It doesn't matter to me personally because I bought a lifetime supply of incandescent light bulbs years ago when the government started their move to convince us to use the squiggly lights full of deadly mercury. Both DOEs (Energy and Education) should be 86ed. Their regulators think they're legislators; that's why they should all lose their cushy jobs, have to join the private sector, and do something useful with their lives instead of frittering them away over this micromanagement foolishness. These people deserve no power.

OK. Horse buggies and candlelight - we get it. It's Fred Flintstone time. Back to the Future Hunger Games. While the Chicoms take our resources. Joey Baby, bought and paid for by Xi.

Light bulb? Why no! This is a clean burning heating element for easy bake ovens.

When you make a product that is better than the previous object it will sell itself you don't need a law to make people go for it.
I feel the LED bub is that object. I buy them instead of incandescent because they do use less energy are bright and they last longer.
For my drop light , every time it got a slight jar I had to replace the bulb, The LED doesn't mind the jostling, and if they quit they can be repaired . The LED strips are nice and easy to use.
I seem to be a bit different here , but personally I like the led bulb.
But let the market decide that is the American way. Passing it into law is BS.

Bought $93 worth of incandescent bulbs when the ban was first discussed seriously. Every size, shape and wattage. The stash in our basement is going to outlive us because they last forever.

I just put in those LED lightbulbs in my bathroom ceiling light. As soon as I flicked it on I felt nauseous. The so-called light emanating from it is cold and greenish. It is sickening. I immediately dug through my bulb stash and found some appliance bulbs. So much better having a clear, warm light, even though the wattage is a bit too low. Thanks to #9 for the great lead.

Forced compliance is tyranny!
The free-market system be damned!!
First light bulbs, flush toilets, and other things which are forced upon U.S. and now they are going for gas stoves! Just wait until all these expensive $50,000 electric vehicles fail and need NEW $25,000 batteries!

By what authority under our Constitution does this vacuous dolt have the authority to ban light bulbs, or anything for that matter?

The original ban on bulbs was a financial boon to the ChiComs. The squiggly bulbs had to be produced in China since the environmental regulations made it impossible to make them here so we lost a whole industry and thousands of jobs..

And here we go again...
The issue is not "light bulbs" nor electric vehicles. The issue is the freedom to choose in a free market-based nation. The public always goes for the shiny object rather than deal with the real issue of personal freedom. It seems everyone wants to tell everyone else how to live, and if they cannot ban something force prohibitive price increases, such as was done to tobacco and I expect will be done to "fossil fuels". But, it's for the children and the underprivileged and to remedy social injustice, destroy white supremacy and all that blather. All anyone needs to do is surrender their liberty and freedom to choose for the benefit of society. And Americans and other western "democracies" are driving headlong in doing so.

Really this is all this man can mentally focus on and come up with as a major problem? How about focusing on the border, Ohio train derailment aid, inflation, crime, economic/baking stability, Ukraine, Chinese-Tiwain events, poor military recruitment, etc., instead of having his administration send a birthday card to a transgender Kate Spade designer, worrying about light bulbs and gas stoves. This is SO WRONG! This country is in sad shape, and I feel that is by design.

#8.. exactly. Let the market rule!
The market convinced us. The LED bulbs we use are cheap, long lasting, plastic (no shattering or breaking IN the socket again), shaped just like a regular bulb, and send out the lovely calming glow we associate with home lighting. I won't go back to fragile glass bulbs of any kind again.

The Deep State must have these powers removed. No way should an administrative agency be allowed to enact edicts not specifically passed into law by Congress. The era of Congress passing vague laws to be filled in by bureaucrats must end, and previous laws must be repealed. .

It's all about the darkness for these idiots. They'd destroy the sun, moon, and stars if they could. They're dark and miserable, and they want that for the rest of us. Maybe they hope our misery will be worse than theirs and somehow they'll sleep at night.

Biden is insanely jealous because he will never be any brighter than a 40 watt night light so he is banning all of them. What a nut job. Come for something really dangerous, Joe, like our scary black rifles. I dare ya.
This too smells strongly of Barack Obama.
