During a portion of an interview with CBS News National Security Correspondent David Martin released on Wednesday, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated that in response to the Chinese spy balloon that flew over the country last week, the United States ensured that its nuclear bases “were buttoned down” and that “movement was limited and communications were limited so that we didn’t expose any capability unnecessarily.” Austin also stated that the buttoning down applied to nuclear bases all across the United States.
Martin asked, “You don’t know what it was looking for, but you certainly know what you were concerned about it looking for.

Now every country in the world knows that all they need to do is launch a balloon every few days to float over the US and it will shut our military down. What a bunch of $&^$# geniuses.

Smart move, Austie. Now guess what we can expect to see more of next time and these will not be $20 trial balloons, pal.

He does not know how to shoot down a balloon, but he surely know all about the politically correct pro-nouns of a ''woke" military. An Affirmative Action hirling, a buffoon is what "General" Austin is. Disgraceful.

Except that those ‘capabilities’ have already been passed on to the CCP by the Election Stealers who have usurped our government.

Several years ago a military expert, sorry can't remember the name, said our enemies would not go toe to toe with us. Their plan was to wait for a certain president to be in place then push their wants. Back then it was thought to be bath house barry. It seems they have their real McCoy in place now.

Q: What was it looking for? What are they all looking for? What are WE looking for when we do the same kind of thing?
A: They were not "spying" per se, but rather looking to see WHAT WE'D DO if a supposedly rogue but harmless balloon drifted quietly across America and Canada and wherever else it might have been. This is a variation of overflying airspace to test radar capabilities. Everyone does it.
So, he's right. The balloon forced us to "limit movements" because we didn't want to give them what they wanted by exposing our defensive strategies or capabilities.
There's only 1 reason we would've let a balloon float aimlessly around like that and that's if we were 100% absolutely completely assured that it was harmless. The big question is WHO knew that and WHEN? And WHY did we shoot down something that WE KNEW was benign and harmless?

The next balloon will be of Mickey Mouse to show that the people responsible for the protection of the country are just make-believe characters.

Hate to pop the balloon here…but a ground based laser could have downed this sucker very early…and for less than a box of movie popcorn

And yet this 40 watt bulb of a "general", obviously there because of his skin color, not for any actual competence or patriotism, couldn't see that the national interest was served by IMMEDIATELY shooting it down, even before it entered US airspace.
The mix of evil and stupidity in this hive of destroyers working for the Demonrats is just unlimited.

What if another such foreign balloon is sighted on the way to the USA, and Austin again shuts down all the US nuclear connected communications facilities, and when the USA nuclear facilities have limited communications, and because of other shut down facilities that we are not being told about, a nuclear warhead carrying strategic missile attack is then launched against the USA? By announcing to the world that US nuclear connected communications have to be shutdown to keep it secure from foreign surveillance, no doubt the “woke” politicized Pentagon clearly has a big problem!

This feckless, incompetent, traitorous administration might do in four years what 240 years of America's enemies couldn't. I weep for this country.

Have I got this right?: China's spy balloon, in our air space illegally and without consequence, crippled the United States' ability to communicated and move around for fear of revealing our nuclear capability? Isn't that the definition of conquest? If they can stop us in our tracks, they can destroy our installations.
OPEN LETTER TO BIDEN & CO: Have you any idea what is going on in your own country and why have you done NOTHING about this until this balloon got all the info it wanted before your dimwits shot it down? Why did you wait? By waiting you telegraphed our powerlessness when one of their spycraft passes over us. Are you people mad?

so, the new system for building up our nationals defense is to " ... Limit Movement, Communications ..." in our own country so the Chicoms won't have any idea what we're doing ... in our own country. this is insulting and cowardly in all aspects and austin should be ashamed of himself for allowing the military forces of the United States of America to duck and hide so the enemy satellite balloon won't see them doing what they're supposed to do, protect our country. this is beyond absurd!!!

The best reply was to shoot it down as soon as it entered the US airspace over the Aleutian Islands. What a dufus .

A fine alternative would have been to give 'counter' information.
Read articles from Steyn, Walter E Williams, Ann Coulter.
I'd like to include reading the Bible.......the current military brass doesn't understand the war against invisible evil forces.

I thought that Chuck Hagel was the dumbest human to be placed in the highest office at the Pentagon. Lloyd the Noid Austin proves that wrong every time he says or does anything. He dithers on actual military matters such as blatant spying from foreign enemies but is happy to make sure that our female military aircraft pilots have maternity wear so that their babies can survive going 2 g's in a fighter jet or land a twin prop helo on a moving carrier at night. Yes, I know he's a retired Army General with a chest full of colorful ribbons, but man is a complete doofus and needs to be relieved of duty.

Our "esteemed" Secretary of Defense is so stupid that it must hurt his head. That's probably why he always has that angry idiotic frown on his face.

Unbelievable that the Secretary of Defense of the United States of America is saying to the world that the U.S. was FORCED to do ANYTHING by a BALLOON that could have been destroyed BEFORE it reached land!
