The public is being bamboozled about the conditions for pretrial release of accused mega-fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried. It is the worst possible signal to those who fear that his scores of millions of dollars of political donations have bought him kid-glove treatment by the judicial system. The stories you read and hear from the media would have you believe that a “record” bail of $250 million has been paid to ensure that he doesn’t flee the country or otherwise evade prosecution. Where that figure comes from, I don’t know, but this account from The Hill suggests that the federal prosecutors from the Southern District of New York had a hand in it:

One has come to expect inaccurate information in the media’s rush to report. Now we come to expect fantasy loosely based on a true story. I wonder whose fantasy it is and whether it involves bed wetting.

That Democrat “woke” political contributor stole billions of dollars from his depositors. Before the midterm election he handed an undetermined amount of that money, well over 40 million dollars to Biden, to leftist Democrat politicians, and a few RINOS who are known to cave to the Democrats. After the big ripoff of depositors became known and public, that big Democrat contributor agreed to testify before a Congressional Committee about the demise of his financial endeavors. Clearly the Democrats did not want him to testify before that committee where they recognized he would be grilled for hours by the Republicans about his political contributions. The Democrats, who run the US Department of Justice, then no doubt had the Democrat dominated US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York quickly indict that “ham sandwich” and have the Bahamas authorities take him into custody thereby putting him “on ice” and unavailable to testify before that Congressional Committee. A covert deal, no doubt, was then quickly worked out among the Democrats and that Democrat contributor’s legal representatives, obviously who are also Democrats, to have him essentially voluntarily come back to New York where he would appear before a liberal Democrat magistrate judge and immediately be released on bond, with the amount of collateral actually being posted by that Democrat contributor not being clear at all, even through the supposedly know it all liberal media, which indicates that he probably did not have to post any collateral at all, just sign a paper to the effect that he would return to court at some future date. You would have to be an idiot to believe that such a huge Democrat political contributor was not handled “special” and at the top end of the very obvious duel system of Justice that prevails in the USA these days, as if he were a similar Republican donor there is no doubt that he would have been detained in some lousy federal lock up for a couple of years before he ever even went to trial. Don’t be surprised if in the future it becomes known that big Democrat political contributor has covertly decamped to some foreign country that will not extradite criminals back to the USA, to live the good life, supported by hundreds of millions of stolen dollars in foreign bank accounts.

Chelsea Clinton's husband, Mark Medzvinsky, set up a hedge fund, vlew through 199 million dollars, ran it fry, and the Southern District was not interested. Makr's father, former congressman, scammed friends and family out of millions, went to prison, but the Southern District took Mark's word that he never noticed his dad was using his, mark's stock account to launder the scam money, Hunter Biden and his Uncle Jim, with zero experience in hedge funds, set one up, bled it dry, and when investors complained to the Southern District, the Southern District said it was a civikl matter, not criminal. If there ever was a reason to deny bail, this was it. The mop-headed spoiled brat could disappear in a new york minute, and has strong reasons to do so.

Does it take ace investigative skills and high-tech expertise to tell Twitter which posts to censor and which accounts to ban? That's the underside of the Twitter Files, Part Six story from Matt Taibbi, about the FBI expending a lot of agents and a lot of time reading and seeking censorship of tweets and accounts, which was described well by Rajan Laad in his post today here. According to Taibbi, these files revealed that the FBI had a "master-canine" relationship with Twitter, telling it which posts to censor and which accounts to take "action" on, and like dogs, the Twitter executives jumped to it.

Team Trump has sometimes compared former President Donald Trump's current quest for a non-sequential second term to two-term President Grover Cleveland's similar three election bids. Cleveland remains our only elected president (1884) to have lost a reelection bid (1888) -- in a disputed vote -- only to be reelected four years later in 1892. Yet Trump seems determined instead to follow a different, and bullheaded, Teddy Roosevelt model. Roosevelt left the presidency in 1908, sat out four years, and then lost a reelection bid in 1912, split and alienated the Republican Party, and ensured the election of the progressive Woodrow Wilson.

It's no secret that Joe Biden's open borders has fattened Mexico's notorious cartels with profits from the human trafficking and "crossing fees" from illegal migrants. According to an ICE official, cited here, they "earn" between $2 billion and $6 billion a year from border crossing "fees" alone. More illegal migrants, more fees for the cartels. And that rolling cash does and will have knock-on effects, starting from the increased violence in Mexico to its spillover effect from Mexico to the states. But now we're seeing a funny turn in events that raises natural questions about a connection as well as just how well U.S. prisons are run:

The ending of Title 42 COVID restrictions on illegal migrants by a federal judge pretty well signalled to millions of migrants that the border's open and no federal official can stop them so long as they utter the magic word 'asylum.' That alone is grounds to expect the mother of all border surges. But why stop there? Rather than enforcing immigration laws and asylum abuse as the U.S. laws require, the White House has come up with a sneaky new plan to spirit the millions of migrants massing now at the border in without the Fox News helicopter cameras on them.
