Saudi Arabia and China have reaffirmed their cooperation on the global oil market and the principle of non-interference in internal affairs during a visit aimed at deepening strategic relations, at a time when Washington’s ties with Riyadh appear increasingly frayed. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Saudi King Salman signed a series of strategic deals, including one involving Chinese tech giant Huawei, since the official state visit began on Wednesday. In a joint statement on Friday, the two sides said they “exchanged views regarding ways to reinforce and develop comprehensive strategic partnership relations between the Kingdom and China”.

I like the non-interference part of the deal. Do the Saudi's really believe the Chinese aren't going to interfere in Saudi and Middle East affairs? Dream on.

I don't care about the humiliation of Biden; his reputation is already garbage. But I mourn the damage he and his associates have inflicted on our nation and it's people. I fear that it may be irreparable.

So, do you think these people are stupid? can't read the global alarmist propaganda? No, they realize that the Paris Accords afforded everyone until the year 2100 to meet the temp goal. It was not expected it would never rise above that number, or go under their goal number. Just get there in what is now 77 years. Yet, some think they need to be there in 7 years. Do they know what the temperature is supposed to be to meet the needs of the current population? What if the numbers they are using don't fit the actual needs of the planet to support today's population? Do they realize the massive forest fire in Northern California last years spewed 20 years worth of CO2? What about those belching volcano's just in the past few months? What are they emitting?

It's not personal, just business. The USA is a vassal to OPEC led by the Saudis. The Chinese are a customer. We could break that hat-in-hand relationship by producing our own energy. But, then, do we want to as a matter of Western interest?

China cannot protect the sea lines of shipping for that oil from any country that want's to "disagree" with China over political issues. China would suffer a lot of a few dozen tankers got grabbed and redirected, or sunk.

The latest installment of the Twitter Files reveals that the censorship-loving leftists running the show before Elon Musk took over the platform used tech tools to suppress content posted by Breitbart News after adding a “bot” to the official Breitbart News Twitter account. As journalist Matt Taibbi explains, “The bot ends up becoming an automated tool invisibly watching both Trump and, apparently, Breitbart.” Part three of the Twitter Files, released through journalist Matt Taibbi on Friday night, focused on the company’s unprecedented decision to blacklist former President Donald Trump’s account on January 8, 2021.

Lusail, Qatar — Grant Wahl, one of the most well-known soccer writers in the United States, died early Saturday while covering the World Cup match between Argentina and the Netherlands. U.S. media seated near him said Wahl fell back in his seat in the media tribune at Lusail Iconic Stadium during extra time and reporters adjacent to him called for assistance. Emergency services workers responded very quickly, the reporters said, and the reporters later were told that Wahl had died. Wahl tweeted on Wednesday that he had celebrated his birthday that day. American reporters who knew Wahl said he was 49.

Elon Musk’s Twitter exposé keeps getting crazier and even more infuriating as his team continues to divulge the inner workings of the company before he took over. On Friday, the third chapter of the Twitter Files dropped. It detailed how the previous leadership decided to suppress and later ban former President Donald Trump. But one of the revelations that was particularly intriguing was how the company handled tweets coming from Joe Biden in contrast to its treatment of Trump. According to journalist Matt Taibbi, the difference was pretty stark. He noted that “there are multiple instances of involving pro-Biden tweets warning Trump ‘may try to steal

Twitter executives decided to ban then-President Donald Trump from their social media platform after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, while maintaining regular check-ins with the FBI and other federal authorities as they decided what postings should be targeted for censorship, the latest report from new company CEO Elon Musk reveals. In one of a series of tweets Friday evening, independent journalist Matt Taibbi said internal company messages showed how Twitter’s internal standards eroded during the months leading up to Jan. 6, with high-ranking executives violating their own policies while interacting with various federal agencies.

Bari Weiss released the Twitter Files Part II on Thursday, which revealed “secret blacklists” and the shadow banning of conservatives including Dan Bongino, Charlie Kirk, and Libs of TikTok. The blacklisting also included people who were saying things against the liberal narrative on things like COVID, including Stanford professor of medicine, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, because he criticized things like school closures. Elon dropped another tantalizing tidbit about election interference and who else might have been blacklisted. He was asked if any candidate running for election had been shadowbanned.

After blowing smoke about the condition of Biden’s economy, many news outlets are suffering losses. On Thursday, close to 1,100 New York Times workers staged a strike, of sorts. The effort appears rather neutered considering it was only a 24-hour walkout, and the desperation was evident as they attempted to get readers to also join in by not consuming any Times content for the day. (Their position was further weakened as they realized the biggest challenge in this attempt was not concerning their work but in getting people to stop playing Wordle!) This barely recognized quit-snit was possibly met with shrugs based on one of the core complaints

A federal court on Friday blocked a Biden administration mandate that would force religious hospitals and doctors to facilitate gender transitions against their sincerely held moral convictions. The Eighth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals affirmed a lower court’s decision to block enforcement of the rule on the grounds that “intrusion upon the Catholic Plaintiffs’ exercise of religion is sufficient to show irreparable harm,” the filing reads. Catholic nuns, clinics, a university, and hospitals were among the plaintiffs in the case, represented by the Becket Fund. The plaintiffs all provide medical care for transgender patients but refuse to provide gender-transition surgeries

Why Does the GOP Elite Hate Its Own Base? 42 replies
Posted by GustoGrabber 12/9/2022 6:47:13 AM Post Reply
It is one of the most bitter and tragic ironies of our contemporary politics that the leadership of one of America’s two major political parties, the Republican Party, utterly despises that party’s very own voting base. The GOP elite’s scorn for its own voters has, at this point, been a long time in the making. The trend accelerated during the 2009-2011 rise of the Tea Party, a grassroots movement fueled by constitutionalism and anti-elite populism. The crustier elements of the Republican establishment ran as far away as possible from the Tea Party, and the 2012 presidential coronation of private equity plutocrat Mitt Romney effectively killed the movement.

Two-million-year-old DNA from northern Greenland has revealed that the region was once home to mastodons, lemmings and geese, offering unprecedented insights into how climate change can shape ecosystems. The breakthrough in ancient DNA analysis pushes back the DNA record by 1m years to a time when the Arctic region was 11-19C warmer than the present day. The analysis reveals that the northern peninsula of Greenland, now a polar desert, once featured boreal forests of poplar and birch trees teeming with wildlife.
