Elon Musk's Big Mistake

Original Article

Posted By: DW626, 12/5/2022 5:32:51 AM

For a genius, Elon Musk sure got it wrong. He fell for the okey-doke. He took seriously what he was told when he arrived in America. That was a grave error because the story he was told – and the story those of us outside the ruling caste are told – is not the same story that the ruling caste tells itself. It should be, but it isn’t. All that stuff about hard work and free speech – that’s great stuff. But the hard truth is that those who would rule us do not believe a word of it.

It shouldn't be necessary to sugar-coat the Truth. But with his penetrating and even-handed analysis---and scathing, yet hilarious turns of phrase---Kurt Schlichter does exactly that.

Bravo Elon and Kurt! It is delicious to watch the tolerant left expose themselves for who they truly are, totally intolerant! Free speech was pounded into my head as a kid. I can remember vividly my teacher explaining how important it was to protect the speech with which we did not agree. Although I questioned it at the time now I see how important it is. Once you are on the side of being silenced, you understand completely. Democrats have gone insane. I honestly do not know what has happened to cause such a radical worldview. However, they seemed to turn down a very dark path when they booed God at their national convention. I am just thankful that Musk has the integrity and courage to take a stand and challenge them.

Everybody is making this big, big deal about Twitter and the truth. I admit that I used to follow PDT when he was on Twitter and read his tweets every morning. I didn't read the hateful opposition, though. But this constant hate by the left astounds me, because I can't believe anyone has Twitter as their news source. I don't know anyone that would take as gospel, anything said by a Clooney, Milano or the Meathead! Everyone has the right to read only the tweets that they want and to ignore anyone they don't like. The doofus and the 'dr.' in the White house, and the two former grifters can spew any hateful speech they want, and I won't see it if it's on Twitter, because I don't follow them. Only their syncopants, and the media, care what they write. Even when PDT was tweeting, and I was reading his tweets, I didn't take everything he said as the gospel truth.

One major correction, Kurt. The Babylon Bee got into big trouble for calling Levine Man of the Year, not Woman of the Year. They simply pointed out the truth and the left went nuts.

I can't find it now, but there was a YouTube short that was a split screen with the top half showing a Twitter employee (hopefully terminated by now) giving a tour of the lavish dining facility, and the bottom half showing two men busting their humps at work on an oil rig. To me, one of the telling features of a people is when they support people with who they disagree. I will support Elon on those grounds. And while I disagree with his eagerness for converting to electric cars, I acknowledge that the work that Tesla is doing is propelling us forward. I like that while he is no fan of nuclear, he understands we need it in order to realize the goal of going away from carbon based fuels for vehicles. He also acknowledges that oil, coal, and gas are a necessity for our economy and continued advancements.

Whether conservative or liberal, Americans who still believe in liberty and personal freedoms under our Constitution must not only have Musk's back, but the backs of one another. Especially after J6 being used to chill dissent, it all has to reignite somewhere. It appears the re-opening of Twitter is that place. If not, where? With whom?

Gunrunner, never-charged criminal, political hack, and perpetually aggrieved former attorney general Eric Holder is back, bloviating about President Trump being imminently arrested. Given that we live in post-Republic times and that the Department of (in)Justice has exhibited no shame or remorse in its years-long campaign of political persecution and partisan double-standards, I'll take Obama's contemptible "wingman" at his word just this once. Arlington National Cemetery is the latest casualty of woke cancel culture I recently learned that the “Naming Commission,” initially proposed by Congress in 2021 to strip military bases of Confederate leader names has just made the Arlington National Cemetery the latest casualty of the military’s woke cancel culture. Although the primary mission of the panel was to wipe references to the Confederacy from the U.S. military, it is now painfully evident the panel of eight did not stop with renaming. Their third and final report issued in September 19, 2022 includes the removal of a 108-year-old Confederate monument from Arlington National Cemetery.

Don’t be fooled. In the promotional interviews for her new book, The Light We Carry, Michelle Obama insists that the book is simply her personal “toolkit” about how she deals with the challenges of “uncertain times.” No, The Light We Carry is not a self-help book. It is Michelle’s crafty attempt to position herself to be the Democrat nominee for president in 2024. In fact, it is Michelle’s second autobiography, a follow up to her wildly successful 2018 memoir, Becoming. As it would have been awkward for Michelle to write a second self-promotional autobiography entitled “Becoming Part II,” the new book is released under the ruse of a self-help guide.

Funny, I don't recall him, or any other Never Trumpers condemn the following: Obama and all the others who hung around with notorious antisemite, Louis Farrakhan. In 2020, the Anti-Defamation League labeled Farrakhan as the “most popular antisemite in America.” Obama, Biden, and all others who continue to work with and reward Iran as its leaders and its extremists pledge(d) death to the U.S. and Israel.

The Left, the NeverTrump Right, and many independents are tiring of Donald Trump’s recitations of prior, however justified, grievances at the hands of the media, the Democratic Party, the administrative state, and hard-core Left. The conventional wisdom runs that Trump’s whines and victimization recitations reveal deep paranoias, and increasingly to an obsessive degree. We are told that his near neurotic obsessions with the unfairness of his critics are alienating the independent voter, who finds Trump’s strolls down 2020-21 memory lane the same-old, same-old ad nauseam.

I’m certain that garden-variety illegal fraud, combined with the legal fraud of ballot harvesting and mail-in voting, went a long way to explain how Americans suffering terribly in a bad economy did not deliver a wipeout to the Dems in the 2022 midterms. I also reserve a great deal of blame for the GOP, which is trying hard to drive MAGA from its ranks and is willing to lose to do so. Some New York lawmakers are renewing the push for a state law that would lay the groundwork to pay reparations to black residents whose ancestors were enslaved. Proponents gained steam after a task force in California last week recommended that the Golden State shell out $569 billion in reparations to slaves’ descendents there, or $223,200 apiece, because of lingering housing discrimination practices. A previously proposed New York measure called for creating a commission to study the impact of slavery and providing reparations but failed to pass the legislature. It is now being revised, backers said.

Reports surfaced two weeks ago that Florida Republicans are considering changing the state’s “resign-to-run” law so Governor Ron DeSantis could throw his hat in the ring for the 2024 presidential nomination without losing his governorship. It is one sign among many that DeSantis, or those close to him, are thinking about taking on Donald Trump in the primary. A word of warning and wisdom to DeSantis: Don’t do it. DeSantis is a promising politician with a real future on the national scene. He should want to be president. But not yet. DeSantis needs to understand his true self-interest. Running for president in 2024 isn’t it.

Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) won reelection Tuesday, fending off a spirited challenge from Republican Herschel Walker while helping Democrats grow their thin Senate majority in the midterm elections after a bruising four-week runoff campaign. Warnock was leading Walker 50.4% to 49.6% when the race was called, earning the senator his first, full six-year term after ousting an appointed Republican incumbent in a special election runoff nearly two years ago. Walker’s defeat was a major blow to the Republicans. They capped a disappointing midterm election season with yet another loss that effectively surrendered a Senate seat to the Democrats, who saw their majority grow from 50 to 51.

Bolton kinda-sorta threw his hat in the ring yesterday, or more accurately, announced that he would consider tossing his hat in the ring, yada yada yada. Bolton wants to goad other Republicans into fighting Trump now over his remarks about “terminating” the Constitution, while at the same time misrepresenting what’s actually happening among GOP elected officials:

It has already been legalized in California, Colorado, Oregon, Vermont and Washington, with more than 200 Americans opting for the process to date. And the latest eco-craze is surging in popularity with the center pioneering human composting — Recompose — tripling in size in just two years. They now have 1,200 people on the ‘waiting’ list.
