You cannot become the Chief Editor of the NYT unless (a) You are a committed die hard Liberal (b) Routinely capable of promoting falsehoods that would make an average law abiding individual cringe (c) Have lost the primary ability of differentiating right from wrong learned at your mother’s knee. That should explain it.

FTA - "the American population, after 60 years of leftist education, may be incapable of connecting cause and effect. That brainwashing is everywhere." I talk to people all the time in meetings and on a personal level, and it amazes me that so many people are incapable of processing/understanding what is being said. I'm not saying I'm the smartest person in the room all the time, but when I break a conversation down to them, their eyes light up. They get it, but they failed to get it the first time. People don't think critically anymore. Even when they get it, they oftentimes don't know how to make good decisions about next steps. We live in a different world. Evil and injustice abounds. Up is down and down is up. Right is wrong and wrong is right. Even the high level perpetrators of the evil can't control the trajectory of the world turning. These are truly dark times. How will civilization survive? Is Jesus soon to return?

Like it or not, when we lost control of the education system we lost the country.

#3, I believe you have drilled down to the core issue. Education or rather indoctrination disguised as education has been our downfall. I believe those of us who were growing up during the time our educational system was still on the right track, just assumed it would always be like that. Sadly, the wake-up call has come too late. Reagan’s statement that freedom is only one generation away is the epitome of wisdom. We did drop the ball and now we are in a struggle to the death for the soul of this nation and we are behind the eight ball right now. I honestly do not know how this ends, but either with divine intervention and restoration or with total destruction, we are living in historical times, maybe even the end times. Put your faith and trust in God. Government cannot save us.

Huge numbers of young people do not think linearly and logically. And they really don't seem to care about what is happening to them, much of the time. I think that Reply #3, also points to a major factor. Once the schools became leftist brainwashing centers, children's minds were twisted and ruined. I'm not sure that there is any recovery from this at this late date.

Did some time working in Angola. We, of course, had to hire 2 locals who sat and did their "school work". Their reading text books were singing the praises of the local tyrant of course. Does the USA not have an Angolan school system ?

Most Americans have not heard the conservative point of view, including many of my relatives.

The "indoctrination" of America began in the Great Depression years, when the Federal government was seen as the great lifeline, providing relief, jobs, food and other necessities, building those "alphabet soup" agencies and expanding others. It spawned Social Security. And American "conservatives" were overwhelmed by their success. FDR was a god, his "Four Freedoms" became the basis for Federal action to this day. The nation slowly became "socialist" and continues to evolve as such today - it's all about the "common good". Our COVIDS experience clearly demonstrates that today's Americans are a vastly different breed than their grandparents and predecessor generations. This generation treasures safety and security more than anything else, and is willing to pay with its liberty - for the common good. It abhors conflict, and thus willing to censor ideas and speech with which it disagrees. And general surveillance by authorities is no big deal, necessary to keep Americans safe. We have failed ourselves over the decades. In many cases today's "liberalism" is merely a 180 turn from "conservative" thinking, particularly in the '60s. Disagreed with Vietnam? Commie! Disagree with Ukraine? Fascist! FBI "out of control"...nothing new. Schools couldn't teach Johnny to read in the 50s, and now he still can't read. nor tell time, nor make change. No problem. Johnny is a straight male and largely written off anyways.

But it is fiction!
