The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is saying that certain Bible verses are “no longer appropriate” to be read in public in court, News Letter reports.
The comment was made in writing during the legal proceedings for a now-dismissed case the CPS brought against street preacher John Dunns over an altercation between the preacher and two lesbians. During the confrontation, the 55-year-old veteran allegedly shouted that the women should “burn in hell” and called one of them a “devil woman.” Dunns, who was charged under the Public Order Act, denies the allegations.

While the Scriptures do say the idea of his name-calling of the two lesbians, it is not a direct quote of any verse.
Close is this:
Galatians 5:
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

First, telling someone they will burn in hell is NOT quoting the Bible. And, without a lot more context, we cannot know if the 55 year old man was acting out of love or hate with his comment.
But, it does not matter. He has the right to speak what he is thinking, rightly or wrongly. Or at least he SHOULD have this right.
As for the two lesbians... I seriously doubt those words did anything to persuade them to faith or dissuade them from their lifestyle. When I read this story it dredged up memories of Westboro Baptist 'Church'.
Finally, and a bit off topic... but maybe not. If you understand who you are as a human being even just a little, and understand God's grace... just a little, you should come to the conclusion that you need His grace on your BEST day every bit as much as you need it on your WORST. And when you start to get that, the grace you show others will come from a place of understanding.

Falsely quoting Scripture to obtain a desired result also brings divine discipline from on high. Be careful what you wish for, atheists.

Think we aren't in the End Times??? How else can you account for all of this going on??? Immorality in all it's forms, foisted upon us by an immoral crooked lying establishment (democrats) with same sex marriage being normalized, Drag queens teaching our children, rampant crime and sinful ways?

But it’s fine to have transvestites reading to kids about homosexuality in public libraries.
I’m glad that I’m old.

The Brits have never had any actual Constitution, and their "rights" have always been subject to immediate, permanent cancellation at the convenience of their rulers. They have pretended to be free for quite some time. It is getting more and more difficult to pretend, as the facts of their enslavement become more difficult to hide every year.

Just something to consider...
The fire and brimstone approach does not work with many people these days. You can literally hold a gun to a person's head, and they won't cooperate. If you really want to get through to them, try a different tactic. Doubt one can get through to these people in any case, or it may take years.

The Bible is ALWAYS appropriate. Freedom of religion includes proselytizing, even if annoying, thus all parts of the Bible, or whatever holy book you name may be read in public.
Now if someone invades the sanctuary of another religion and starts preaching, then they ARE guilty of trespass. Any public space is fair game.

There is a lot of re-interpretation of the bible these days by our so-called "leaders."
Galations 1:9 -- I have already said it. Now I will say it again. Anyone who preaches a "good news" that is different from the one you have accepted should be judged by God forever.
Judgement is for God and discernment is for us. Discernment is turning away from a lifestyle that one should know is not going to turn out well. We are being deceived into thinking that discernment is a from of hatred or hate speech. That is the battle (simply said) that Christians are fighting right now.

There will always be something that will offend someone. Would the British courts and press be having the same conversation if some church people were offended by some LGBTQ activists shouting quotes from some GAY book (GENDER QUEER, HEATHER HAS TWO MOMMIES...)? I highly doubt it. Just because you are offended, does not mean it should be illegal.

The Law is to be used to pull man down on his knees in repentance having offended God! At this point the Gospel may be applied! But not one word of Gospel is to be preached to those thumbing their nose at God! The Grace through Jesus Christ remains a mystery! Casting pearls before swine!
