Big changes are coming to Disney, and though I would have never suspected it given past history, it looks like Bob Iger is looking to turn away from overt political activism.
Iger returned to the role of CEO in the last few weeks, having started Disney’s woke revolution many years ago. Yet, the company’s disastrous battle with Florida’s Ron DeSantis has him ready to change course. According to Iger, he regrets the clash with the rock-star Republican governor and will look to move Disney toward a more neutral position in the culture wars. Better late than never, I suppose, and to be sure, there’s still a bit

Way too late. The Disney brand now means homosexuals and trans-lunatic perversion and child grooming.

Agree about DeSantis. Trump has killed himself politically. Time to move on.

Disney is hemorrhaging money!!!! They are a bunch of groomer perverts with the greatest access to children in the history of pervert grooming, and they are scared to death that they are losing that access to our kids and grandkids!!!
And because of that combination, they are desperate. All the lie-beral pervert groomers don't want to give up that access to kids, but if they go belly-up, they will lose it anyway.
So they will say all the right things about now, but seeing is believing. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them, and really hope they fail and disappear from the face of the earth!!!!!

I take a more business oriented view of this.
Disney was dying under wokie leadership.
The BoD said enough is enough and brought back previous guy to change course.
Returning guy immediately starts company on new path away from wokie garbage.
Wasn't that exactly what we wanted?
Wouldn't it be nice he flushes these freaks out and sets an example for other companies to do the same?

A lot of people who would go to the "new" Disney, can't afford it. Many people that can afford it, have woken up. I predict that Disney is too far gone.

People forget that Iger goaded Chapek into the fight with Florida. Iger is one of the biggest "woke" ducks in the puddle. If he's backtracking now, it is only because of the blowback Disney has gotten. Two of their recent movies (incidently with prominent gay characters) have been deemed flops, and the theme parks, while still profitable are seeing declines in their profit margins.

It doesn’t mean a thing if he still has Kathleen Kennedy there in charge of Lucasfilm. She has been the one who has single-handedly destroyed all the franchises that Disney has gobbled up since Eiger took control. This is just political posturing to save face and cannot be taken seriously unless he gets completely gets rid of Kathleen Kennedy. FIRE HER AND BANISH HER. Down with Darthleen!!!

When trust is lost, it is almost impossible to get it back. Disney has lost all of the trust that it once enjoyed when it was a family oriented wholesome company. Except for the woke themselves, who is ever going to trust Disney again? And if Iger does as he is promising and gets rid of the homosexual/trannie agenda, even the wokesters won’t trust the company. Looks like a self inflicted fatal wound to me. Good riddance.

Dittos on being too late. Tell Iger to call back when he has gotten rid of all the pervs he had to hire when this mess began. Somewhere, the Mouse that laid the golden eggs is scrounging around in garbage cans looking for food.

Disney wants to keep its status in Florida of their own independent country. They are probably afraid that Florida is now going to send the inspectors for all kind of code violations. That for starters. Then it is the question of money. A family of 4 cannot afford to go to the parks anymore. They are too expensive. You are better of going to Sea World or Universal right there in Orlando, or better Dollywood in Pidgeon Forge, TN. Cheaper and family oriented.

Re #8. OK, that's an interesting PollyAnna out look there.
Let's see if it is just a coat of whitewash or an actual major change.
IMO, the whitewash is far more likely.

Nothing like a pro-homo movie being a $150million flop, too.
Disney money area are innocent childhood fantasies and a safe place for traditional, heterosexual, families to go. They need to get back to the basics.
There's a huge, under-served, market of boring mom and dad and kids families.

Ya' really gotta' love the Never-Trumpers on this board who love nothing better than jam knives in his back and twist them as they pass by. Yes, DeSantis has done VERY well. Gosh, so did Trump, wouldn't you say? Who says DeSantis is going to run in '24?
The real problem is that some really believe that by jettisoning Trump into the caldera of the media volcano it will appease the god of ridicule that will then give conservatives a rest from attack. This is an utterly foolish notion.
Like him or dislike him, Trump was getting the job done. Therefore, the forces of globalism on both left and right went into attack mode and unleashed a wave of suppression, slander, and censorship in a government-private partnership (gee, where have we heard that before?) unprecedented in our republic. Therefore, Never-Trump RINO's (who are more in league with radical leftists, especially in having a globalist worldview) appear and try to "reason" with those of us who are working to maintain sovereignty and make us, once again, "the city on the hill." Not the one that Ronald Reagan's speechmakers essentially stole without attribution but the one from John Winthrop, quoting Matthew 5:14.
Thanks, but no thanks. May you continue to expose your agenda for further enlightenment.

I became a grandparent late in life and at one time looked forward to a Disney vacation with grandchildren. Decided this would never happen. No great loss and $$$$ saved. Astonished at how many of my conservative friends make the Disney pilgrimage.

Disney built the brand but the.woke gang ruined it. We can still enjoy the earlier productions made by Disney himself before the current tricksters defiled the entertainment quality. sad

For Iger, Marketing 101: Keep your political correctness, virtue signalling, wokism, and politics to yourselves, and you can sell to everyone. Why alienate 50% or more of your potential customers?

Watched Disney’s “Disenchanted” on my streaming box (Disney didn’t get a dime or a hit on DisneyPlus from me) and it was actually very good, entertaining and like the old fashioned Disney movies. Singing, dancing and a good old fairy tale. And I found nothing offensive or woke—ok for kids. Shocker. If they’d just stick with that, they’d be fine.

Trump haters seldom miss a chance to twist the knife. He has never agreed with transgenderism and homosexual promotion in schools either. Just dangle a shiny new object in front of some people and they jump on it like a big trout.

I'm all for DeSantis running for president some day but for now, I'm hoping Trump can somehow win back the WH for the 3rd time since he was clearly deprived of a 2nd term due to mail-in voter fraud in several states. We should not let the 2020 election go. It was stolen and Trump deserves his 2nd term!
