Barack Obama was in Georgia, campaigning on behalf of Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) for the Dec. 6 runoff against Herschel Walker.
Once again, the Democrats were playing the Obama card because of Joe Biden’s supreme unpopularity in the state. They can’t even bring Joe in to campaign; he’d likely sink their chances. But the thing about Obama is he’s forever the narcissist and divider. He’s supposed to be there on behalf of Warnock. But somehow he managed to say the quiet part out loud about Joe Biden. “We all know some folks in our lives who — we don’t wish them ill will. They say crazy stuff and we’re all like

The UN General Assembly this week passed a resolution to characterize the founding of the modern state of Israel in 1948 as a “catastrophe,” in what has been heralded as a major victory for pro-Palestinian activists.
The word “Nakba,” which means catastrophe or disaster in Arabic, was also a term coined by the Palestinians to commemorate the Jewish state’s founding. The UN resolution acknowledges the Palestinian version of the events that led to Israel’s creation, and calls for the “commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Nakba,” with a “high-level event” at the global body on May 15th, 2023. May 15 is the day

Florida said Thursday it has begun to divest $2 billion in funds overseen by BlackRock — a sharp rebuke of the giant asset manager’s investing policies under CEO Larry Fink that right-leaning critics have blasted as “woke capitalism.”
The divestment under Gov. Ron DeSantis – the largest of its kind by an individual state – is the latest sign of mounting unrest among Republican policymakers over so-called “ESG,” or environmental, social and corporate governance practices.
Florida’s chief financial officer, Jimmy Patronis, accused BlackRock of attempting to “use their power to influence societal outcomes.”

According to Communications Daily, Stacey Abrams is lobbying to be the next nominee to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Gigi Sohn, the current nominee, has little to no chance of being confirmed in the Senate.
Abrams is waiting in the wings for her shot as a D.C. power player. The two time loser in her attempts to become the next governor of Georgia is looking at a seat on the FCC for a job. Can she convince the powers that be that she is the right person?

A federal appeals court on Thursday overturned a judge's decision to appoint a special watchdog to review documents seized by the FBI from the Florida residence of former President Donald Trump in August as part of a criminal investigation.
The Department of Justice had objected to the appointment of that watchdog, known as a special master, by a federal judge in Florida who was nominated to the bench by Trump. The DOJ said the special master appointment delayed DOJ from using the seized documents as part of that probe until they were cleared.

Washington - The Supreme Court on Thursday delayed a decision on whether to grant President Joe Biden's bid to implement his student loan forgiveness plan, announcing instead that it will hear full oral arguments on an expedited basis.
In a brief order, the court said it would hear arguments in February with a decision soon to follow. In the meantime, the plan remains blocked. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar filed an emergency application Nov. 18 on behalf of the Biden administration asking the justices to lift an injunction imposed by the St. Louis-based 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. In a separate case, a federal judge in Texas has also blocked

President Biden all but declared himself as the greatest president in America’s history on Wednesday.
"I tell you what," the president said. "No one’s ever done as much as president as this administration’s doing. Period." Biden spoke during the White House Tribal Nations Summit, which was to feature new announcements and efforts to put new policies in place that support Tribal communities. The summit, which takes place at the Department of the Interior, gives tribal leaders the opportunity to engage with top U.S. officials on ways to strengthen nation-to-nation relationships and ensure indigenous communities endure for years to come.

Midterm election turnout among black voters appears to be 25 percent lower than white turnout, marking the lowest share of the black electorate since 2006, a New York Times analysis revealed Wednesday.
The low turnout of black voters is a strong indicator Democrats could be losing a key portion of their intersection coalition long heralded by members of the left, such as election denier House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who has claimed the strategy a “gorgeous mosaic” and “not a cult.”
Conclusive numbers have not yet been completely compiled from all 50 states, but an early snapshot of voter data suggests black voter turnout was well below the national average

Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal published an opinion piece by attorney Robin Keller describing how she lost her job at a large law firm after daring to speak up in favor of the Dobbs decision. This didn’t happen at a general staff meeting but on a conference call explicitly held to allow staffers to discuss the decision.
After the Supreme Court issued its Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade in June, global law firm Hogan Lovells organized an online conference call for female employees. As a retired equity partner still actively serving clients, I was invited to participate in what was billed as a “safe space” for women

Elon Musk’s back may be against the wall as Twitter’s new owner, but he has plenty of friends in high places, especially in the tech sector.
Netflix co-founder and co-CEO Reed Hastings praised the Tesla billionaire as “the bravest, most creative person on the planet” during a wide-ranging session at the New York Times DealBook conference. “What he’s done in multiple areas is phenomenal.” Hastings hastened to add, “His style is different. I’m trying to be, like, a steady, respectable leader up here and he’s just out there.” he added, drawing a big laugh from the crowd at Jazz at Lincoln Center. With the $44 billion he and his backers

The Washington Post will end the print edition of its Sunday magazine, Executive Editor Sally Buzbee told staffers in a memo Wednesday. Its last edition will be December 25. Some of the magazine’s features will move to a “revitalized Style section,” Buzbee writes in a short note, adding that Post remains “committed to longform journalism.”
So what will happen to the magazine’s content? Tom Sietsema’s dining column and the crossword will run in the Sunday print edition as well as online of course, Post spokesperson Shani George tells Washingtonian. “Other features will be sunset,” George says. You know what that means: No more Date Lab.

As RedState reported earlier, there was both good and bad news on the Twitter freedom front Wednesday, with the bad news being the European Union getting all stompy feet and threatening to ban the social media platform if new CEO Elon Musk, who has vowed to make it a more welcoming place for differing points of view and open dialogue, doesn’t tighten the reins by censoring and banning content according to the EU’s Digital Services Act.
“Twitter will have to implement transparent user policies, significantly reinforce content moderation and protect freedom of speech, tackle disinformation with resolve, and limit targeted advertising,” EU Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton
